Since I started boxing again with MQ, for whatever reason every so often one of my boxes locks up and freezes and stops responding. Not all of them usually just one or two. It is definitely MQ related, can anyone help fix this?

Sometimes when you load the/a plugin for the first time, you need to do a /loadskin default or /reloadui (it outputs that in your mq2 window)

Are you in a huge guild with show offline members checked?
No I am not. I have a gaming rig that far exceeds the specs needed for any game and it should be doing fine but it is freezing and doesnt do this for anything else. So MQ must be the factor being that it only happens when I run it for a few hours.

happens to me too from time to time. Sometimes one is not responding to follow or isnt showing up on dps, freezes and is unresponsive. Have to manually kill the exe and restart that char. Have no idea what it can be, doesnt happen very often though for me.

Yes I also get an occasional error and window freeze and havent been able to correlate it to a common event yet. such as loading a plugin, zoning......

I just upgraded my PC, memory, motherboard, everything, now it happens more often and all of them end up freezing. Got an intel i7 9700k, Asus Z390 motherboard, 32gigs of corsair ram, etc

New machine here also
AMD Ryzen 9 3950X Processor,
ROG STRIX X570-I motherboard,
32.0 GB DDR4-3200 corsair ram,
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti -running 3 monitors at 2560x1440

cant convince the wife that i need a 4th monitor

hasnt happened t me in a while, was a dx9 issue iirc, happened alot when my screen would go into saver mode

I turned off power saving options and sleep etc which it shouldn't do anyways with programs running. We'll see if that changes anything.

do you have vid cards linked? as in crossfire / sli? if so eq does not play well with those

did you set your eq ini for cpu affinity?

I’ve also just recently started having problems with EQ windows freezing and eventually just straight up crashing.
This just started about a week ago. Been running for the past year with almost no problems and nothing has changed on my set up.

Still froze, all 5 processes. Stayed logged in until I logged in to force log them out

I have direct X 12, what is the issue here and why is this happening? Anyone have a fix?

To piggyback on hylander. What about where you have mq2 installed? That isn't one drive syncing is it?

I have the same problem and I can reproduce the error at will. It occurs 100% of the time when I have my 6 toons in the lobby and it is the first time of the day that I try and zone into a guild hall. I think it has something to do with the fact that 5 of my toons are in one guild and the 6th is in a different. It is quite annoying but I just plan on the crash occurring and it is a lot less of a headache.

It usually only affects the first toon that tries to enter the GH, although last night it happened to the 5 in one guild. I usually just zone in the single guild guy but last night i wasn't paying attention.

On a side note can anyone tell my why I can camp out a toon and if I go to the server select screen and try to get back in game it says I still have a toon in game. Keep in mind this is a camp out not a force quit, i expect that message on a forced quit.

if there is no one in a guild hall, and you try and zone into it - it makes the server "spin up" the guild hall, which can result in significant delays in zone time and possible disconnects/crashes.

if you have the means to, just slap a lvl 1 dude perma afk holding the guild hall open.

the camping out/in from char select is another eq issue

ngreth (or was it niente? i forget) said it can be exacerbated by out of date UIs that don't actually "let the character exit cleanly from the world" or some such.

Bugs build character...it's the universe's way of developing patience. You don't get to wise without the hard knocks...lol

I maxed out power options made sure nothing goes to sleep after any time set them all to Never, and now I dont have the problem so far. Also, lol I accidentally plugged my display into a motherboard port instead of the graphics card when I finished my upgrade so that could have been affecting it too since EQ will use your motherboard built in GPU before the graphics card if you plug it into the Motherboard first since EQ Game requirements aren't very high.

Use /unload before zoning in to guild hall or camping. Reload while you are at charicter select, but make sure you don't have anyone in game that has unloaded.
