EQ EMU files gathered here

I am making an attempt at getting everything I used to get EQEMU up and running right here. This will rest assured get you up and running as well. All files are attached here as well.

You will need:
Acrobat Reader
Winzip
A Brain

This is very user friendly and if you can't get logged in from this, I hate it for you.

Step 1: Download EQE1_5.pdf.

Step 2: READ THE GUIDE! (EQE1_5.pdf).

Step 3: Make a duplicate of your EverQuest directory and re-name it to EQEMU. You only need your EverQuest directory (or your EverQuest Trilogy directory).

Step 4: Unzip patch.zip into your EQEMU directory.

Step 5: Unzip everymerchant.zip into your favorite UI directory. (Yes you can use the default directory, as you will not be patching EQEMU.)

Step 6: READ THE GUIDE AGAIN! (EQE1_5.pdf).

Step 7: Follow the guide as it is written.

Step 8: Enjoy EQEMU.

If you have any questions, post them. Depending on laziness of individual questions, I may answer them :p.

As pathetic as it sounds.. it is just that..pathetic..

We have looked for literally days, we have most of what we need to get it up.

We even went as far as trying to set it up, and getting the errors needed for the file names.. cant find them either .

It is the closest we have gotten. Getting pretty fed up with it to be honest, the files are out there, BUT!, if you ask for them=BANNED, if you search for them, anywhere, you end up right back there... sooo.. we are stuck, frustrated, and about to give up on the project .


*EDIT* The above post will indeed get you to a login and you can play on others server tho, so that is a good thing .

Yeah I made the sig a couple days ago, I call him "The Pink Pally" muwaahahaa

Not sure about the server, we been working long ass hours trying to make it work, just seems (besides lack of knowledge) that we are unclear as to what version of this makes that verion work with this version so that all these vrsions of this that and the other can be coordinated to work as a whole version of EQ Server EMU.

Now, If you read that 3 times to understand it, you are 100th as close to it as us HAHAHA

The patch file you included is only for servers 0.6.0 or less i think. Im sure you know more about this than me, but what i gathered is:

(copy/paste from somewhere else)
6.0 pre 7/13/2005
6.1 i believe is compatible to the eq client from 7/13/2005 - 8/10/2005
6.2 is client compatible from 8/11/2005 - 9/12/2005
6.3 is the same as 6.2 with a few added fixes done which is why i believe they named it 6.3

maybe off a day or two on the dates and the DR1,DR2,DR3 are Dev releases so the difference between say 6.1DR1 and 6.1DR2 would be bug fixes,reworked network code etc.

Most servers i have seen run on at least 0.6.1 or higher. So getting hold of the patch file for 8/11 patch would be ideal as im sure you already know. It's gotta be out there somewhere, im sure someone here has the backup of that patch. I will try to come up with it, i have some older hard drives i had eq on, will check them out see if i can't find one in that date range. Hope i wasnt being redundant to your posts, just trying to get some info myself.

I have EQEmu up and running but the world is completely black. All I see are names, and on the char select screen, i see a name and a torch in the BG. Any idea on how to fix this?

Replace your render effects. They are split into 2 directories and they all need to be in one. So just copy paste the files from both folders into the main Render effects directory. Thats what fixed... they are named MPL and SPL.
