Question - Epic Ornamentation

it gives you an ornament. A completely different item to the actual epic. It can cause some false positives when using the /useitem command. You can fix it by searching for the exact name of the epic vs match first available.
 
I use it on my the look on shm(s) and zerker(s), doesnt bother CWTN stuff at all.. dunno about other flavors of tools :(

So, I started running this today on my 115 SK, but it shrouds you down to a level 35 - then wants you to kill a level 32, 36 & 37 guard. Has anyone done this with an SK? Any pointers in killing those guys? I can't even get one of them down before I'm wiped...

If I recall correctly when doing these quests on some other classes quite awhile ago, make sure you have the original epic equipped. I think having it helped with getting through the fights easier.
 
I have a 1hb with the ornament of my SKs epic 2.0 - so the epic and a shield.

And my bard dual wields epic 2.0s

There are AA type abilities you get in shroud mode that you MUST make hotkeys for and use in order to complete the SK one.
It's been a while so I don't remember the details except that it took a while and was not easy.
 
@Wathou - The original epic is used after I'm supposed to kill the three guards in the first part - you get a generic 2HS sword to start.

@Faust - I got Lifetap; it didn't refresh as fast as they wore me out, LOL...

I'll run back and give it a try in a day or two. I died four times earlier and I just gave up.
 
I died a lot too. And at one point, a mob I had to kill to finish the quest fled and got away from me and it took me 20 minutes to find him.
 
Each class has a unique ornamentation you can obtain after running the quest 3 times. Of those three, one must meet certain criteria to get that ornament. I can only speak of the zerk, mage, necro, monk and sk. All were easy save the sk which I recall having to go slow and I killed everything in North Freeport. The SK is the only one that I have done which was a "shrouded" mission. If you are only after the 1.5 or 2.0 ornament then getting the "perfect" run isn't necessary. If you did 1.5 prequest I don't believe you will be able to select the 1.0 graphics ornament but I can verify that later tonight.
 
Quick run to Lady Caroline and it confirmed my recollection. If you bypassed 1.0, you will not be able to get that particular ornament.
 
I just ran the SK Epic Request again and damn it's long. Ok when heading to Oasis, avoid ALL guards until you're forced to fight the 3 near the zoneline. You can sit and regen health if needed before getting there. These guys are no where near the toughness of the roaming guards. Clearing the Paladin Hall was a cake walk. Nothing encountered in Freeport compares to the guards in North Ro. After getting the book next to the bank and heading to the Temple of Marr, I would use your Gather Shadows before rounding the last corner. This can avoid fighting. Only one mob outside which conned yellow took some time to kill with her 3 other friends. I ran all the way upstairs and the gal right near the top saw me. Easy kill with one add. Go up one more flight and use gather Shadows once again and let the script play out. Make sure you take 1.0 with you. Plane of Hate was a joke as you are playing as your regular level character for that part. No notes necessay. Yell if you have any questions.
 
If you're using the abilities given to you, the SK missions should be relatively easy. I died a few times when I got super reckless, but if you're bothering to pay attention even 50% you should be fine.
 
I'm an idiot - I was killing the three guards in the lower SW part of the map. I didn't realize they would spawn as I got close to the Oasis line.

Was an easy walk thru after that. Thanks everyone!
 
Piggy backing off this thread, does anyone have links to a guide that goes through the class specific steps to obtain the unique ornament?
