First want to say the job done with this lua is amazing. Really saves massive amounts of time when you have to plan the steps for your epic. I was feeling really lazy about doing the shaman epic again
This weekend did all the epic quests series for the shaman starting from scratch: 1.0, 1.5 and just few hours ago finished the shaman 2.0. Many of the issues i was waiting to post today were already solved in lasts patches (that was really quick)
Just will give my opinion on how the automation handle the diferent situations that maybe are far from ideal sometimes.
When trying to run the quest solo, duo or grouping found its a lot easier to go solo than any other options. This is because many variables can get you "out of the line" and some of them mostly are related to movement to next stages, agro, adds, pathing, your own configuration of the boxed toons... so with more toons, more variables and easy to mess up. I found when i did some parts with my group to test it, was better if i set the options lilke when im alone and control the group outside that lua automation. Also want to insist that at my shaman level (106) alone or in group did not found any major issue that prevent me to finish the quest, and with the new adition tab to go direcctly to the stage number you need is even easier.
The major issues i found, and i saw are being adressed or already you fix it by now, was:
1. In the shaman 1.0 with the lockpicking part. That was funny because even with the stone key in my inventory or the door opened keep saying i need a lockpicker. When i picked the bard, all was easy. I was you did some updates about that but i havent the oportunity now to test them
2. In shaman 1.5 the howling stones part was impossible to do with the program but did it manual. I know the the main problem is the meshes and the are itself with all the traps doesnt help, but just saying because was the only real part i found really impossible to do in automode. Also saw you did some fixes, but i finished it before that.
3. In shaman 2.0 no major issues than myself mistakes setting up the options. I was distracted in some stages with RL and was surprised how quick did all the steps.
Many of the travel problems i saw yesterday disapperared today with the fixes, The combat automation was just ok with CWNT plugins and the bard with RGmercs. The bard caused most of the trouble mokst of the time, to the point to set it in pause myself, CWNT plugins were paused auto and no need my assistance, except when i wanted faster travel or porting. Im sure when you implement more travel options this will be for sure the fastest possible way to do the epics with nimimal effort.
To conclude, want to say this resource as an "assistant" for the epic quests is amazing, you can run it and with the new text additions i only check external webpages to see if it matches with i needed to do. I was afraid as iksar shaman will find some difficulties with factions or maybe with main city towns and no problem at all. I did the quest series in 2 diferent computers and jumped from one to the other skipping patts already done in 1 pc to run it in the other with no problem, i added toons and removed, i stepped back and foward when needed, i ported and changed the starting point for some travel stages even when paused the program and just steped back followed with a foward and the program resumed no problem (and with the new updates is even beefier than yesterday to this stress). And for that reason is why im saying is an excellent assistant. Real people are a pain in the assand in total automation is easy something goes wrong with your own configuration, but as a helper for those epic quests is all you need (at least with the shaman quest lines) Can wait to see the evolution of these program with more tools added for traveling. Hope they were ready to test when you get more epic quests finished.
Unfortunately the functions for having a character/group tag along are some of the least tested, least robust features in the script. They definitely need work to be just a tiny bit more functional.
1. We're going to call this an "easter egg" lol. If you do have the key the door will open. But it still expects a picker and will still stop the script there. In the SK epics at the step to kill Ghiosk it actually just farms for the key and uses that to get inside. I went with the choice of having the shaman epic require a picker for all 4 of the locked doors/switches. Technically two of them can be opened with a key. (Stone key for front door, key from Neh`Ashiir for the elevator.) But since there are still two that absolutely require a picker I just made the choice to use a picker for all 4.
2. Previously I was trying to do some shenanigans to skip going through the south wing to reach the east wing. It simply was not reliable enough to count on so I made a few changes in the navmesh to have it path through the south wing to reach the east wing instead. With the latest changes, and navmesh, it should be a much cleaner experience to complete the steps in the shaman and sk epic that take place in Howling Stones.
3. I'm glad it worked well for you!
Seems to work great however like stated it is in beta and needs to be baby sat most of the way as it seems, Cleric epic 1.5 prequest did most of it (i let it run afk) and it didnt successfully hand in the 4 items at the end so unsure where it went wrong. Will try to find it. on 1.5 it seemed to skip the looting portion of Aegis of Chaotic Worship with the 2 steps previous.
Shaman epic 1.0 went most of the way after I redid the beginning part 4 times. kept getting stuck with the 4 mobs in the water that you have to wait for them, The final time it did not loot the small gem, so i had to manually loot it. but caught it in time, and then just reran the lua and it finished it off for most part, when getting to lock picking step it bugged out and just kept killing Reavers, didnt go to Lord Rak’ashirr and finish the remainder, however it worked great for 85% of it and It seems to be a great thing to do! some zones the nav mesh does suck and doesnt work on my end, may just be my side unsure.
I will take a look at the section dealing with Aegis of Chaotic Worship.
For the shaman 1.0 section in the water. What was happening at this step when it was supposed to be talking to them? Did it not travel to them and speak upon their spawning? Any additional details you can provide on how it failed here would be incredibly helpful. More information on what happened with the small gem would be helpful as well. This should appear on your cursor upon saying the final phrase to the greater spirit. I will take a look at the reavers/rak`ashiir portion.
Finally, with regards to navmeshes. Are you running the latest meshes from https://github.com/yb-f/meshes ?
