Can someone confirm that listing the item in the loot.ini as "<item>=Keep" is only if the item is no-drop ----- correct ?
And, I have been killing for a while in FM and SW, and I haven't seen a single rare drop --- any tips on Skybreaker / SkyIron kite shield ? My POP geared toon needs an upgrade ! :P

=KEEP means it keeps all of the items. If it's no drop it should loot it, as well. If it already has a lore item then it SHOULD open up to the other people in the group running kissassist, but sometimes wonky things happen.
Rare drops are more rare now than they were for the first few months of the expansion. DBG turned down the RNG in a big way. No special recipe for getting a specific item, unless you just want to pay for it (which if you want a very specific item, I recommend you do). I've hustled my way to my Skybreaker by selling other rares, collecting krono, swapping for other stuff, etc. The skybreaker and the tank shield are probably two of the three or four most sought after items from the eok ultra rares.

By itself, no. If X item is new to the player, it will do diddly squat. Wont even make an entry in your Advloot files so you can change it later. Wont even auto roll if the master looter has never seen it/never set it to autoroll
Now if you have a macro or include file set up to interact with the Advloot window and auto add stuff, different story.

Use plure's amazing autoloot plugin, and donate to plure for it! Finally, starting to use in-game advloot cause of how amazing that plugin is!
Well, we are on a macro forum, so when running KISS on my looters, it gets auto looted. So again, no player interaction. Why do we need to upload the loot titles if the macro auto loots them?

Any item that you want looted will be auto looted if your looter is running KISS. Any no-drop items MUST be added to the loot.ini.
Why people are manually typing the EoK items into their ini is unbeknownst to me. I quite frankly do not understand it myself.

which would be why I differentiated the answer... since the original observation was

This is after all a "Stratagies" section of the forums, not "macro", thus with out the appropriate additional information, the answer you get may not be exactly the one you were looking for.
Folks visiting this website do happens to use a variety of macros and set ups. Not everyone here (like myself) uses KA exclusively.

ROFL...Yeah...bottom line is that if you run a macro for looting the tradeable shit gets auto looted and the no-trade stuff must be =keep in the ini prior to looting.
BUT since this thread is EoK ULTRA RARE and the conversation that I was referring to was whether you had to manually insert the EoK ultra rares into the loot.ini OR would they automatically get looted since they are NOT no-trade. <---given that he was talking about an ini, that is a macro related topic.
Do I need to waste my time posting old threads to get the last word in?

Bottom line ... if you would have bothered to read some of them... is some folks use a macro to control it... and some folks dont hence the whole "this is how you set up ADVLOOT thread" (for those folks who just let the game do it's thing) and not everyone uses the same style of loot mechanism when interacting with the Advloot window (hence the other loot set ups)

I didn't ask a question. The only question I asked was a rhetorical one referring to not needing to manually insert loot table into the macro subfile.
I think you are mixing people up, but anyhoo, the loot.ini is a macro sub file = auto fricking loot on tradeable items, which is the message I was talking to. He does not need to manually type in all the eok loot files if he is using KISS or any other loot macro.
Next time I respond to someone's question (someone else's question, cause I didn't fricking ask one) I will put their question in quotes to not confuse the feeble.

I also do a lot of training, and as such make it a point of not only paying attention to the ACTUAL question, but help folks understand the importantance of asking the RIGHT question for the answer they are seeking. I have no issue what so ever defending my actions as correct with the provided information, as that is how I keep mine, and other folk's, jobs. I post here as a courtesy to help other folks out (same as the other posters) At least until someone makes it more a nuisance. I will of course defend myself, but offer no more aid in this matter.

This post (mostly the 2nd page) confused the hell out of me. I am responding only because there is some incorrect information.
There are basically four methods to handle your looting; manually, advloot (in game), macro, plugin.
Manually is the simplest; kill a mob, look at the loot and decide what to do with it.
advloot (in game), use the advloot system in game to automat looting. This system can remember what you want to do with each item. You must manually select an action (always need, always greed, never) for each item. You can with sufficient information about the item manually modify the files to add actions for items you have not actually looted before.
ninjadvloot.inc is an addon macro that will automat to a large degree your looting without any action on your part. It makes decisions for you concerning each item based on the settings in your loot.ini file. Ninjadvloot WILL automatically add ANY new item it encounters to the loot.ini file. The item will be flagged with one of the following (keep, ignore, quest|xx) automatically, depending on your loot.ini settings. The item flags CAN be changed and WILL take immediate effect, even while the macro is running.
KissAssist.mac uses ninjadvloot to automat looting. ANY macro can be modified to use ninjadvloot to automat looting.
NOTE: KissAssist does not fully use all of the features available with ninjadvloot. In particular, kissassist does not work well with the =quest|xx option. This really only becomes a problem with NoDrop and Lore items.
MQ2Autoloot plugin
Works very similar to ninjadvloot.inc, but is a plugin instead of a macro addon. The significant advantage is speed and it works without modifying your macro's.
Now back to the purpose of the original post: It is simply a list of certain (rare) items in the latest expansion that you can use to modify your advloot and/or loot.ini files.
ninjadvloot will automatically update the loot.ini file with new items. Manually updating the loot.ini file is not really necessary, but does guarantee the item will be flagged with the action you desire.
advloot (in game) MUST be manually updated to automatically process loot items.

Change all the =ignore flags on the ornaments to =destroy flags if you don't want to leave a gazillion corpses around and basically scream that you're botting.
I see idiots afk exping in FM all the time with 1423423423423 corpses around them. It's a dead giveaway, and there's really no excuse now that the autoloot plugin will basically do everything for you (presuming you take the 2 seconds to load it and do the basic configuration).

Note: Any item on this list flagged as =Destroy you will have to go into advanced loot in game edit filters and search for each item and press Remove or go to your Everquest Folder then into Userdata Folder and look for the file LF_AN_PlayersName_ServerName.ini and
LF_Nvr_PlayersName_ServerName.ini and remove any items from there that's Flagged as Destroy in the above list and save the files without them in it or they wont get Destroyed in Game.

yes but some items are quest / no drop that have to be set to Ignore NO ?
and when I changed things like bellow to Distroy on all of my ini's for my group all I got a advance group window coming up and auto roll being activated instead of the item being destroyed.

If your looter already has the item they will attempt to hand it over to another person. That other toon should loot and destroy the item appropriately.
If you have an item on "ignore" you really, really should have it labeled "destroy." If its a quest item, then add the quest flag to it and everyone who needs it will loot the appropriate amount. After they all have the appropriate amounts then you should modify that from quest to destroy, as well.
Name of the game is not having a bunch of corpses laying around. Whatever you need to manipulate to achieve that I highly recommend doing.

ive also noticed recently for some reason I can delete the ornamentations from loot.ini and it will still loot them and add them back to loot ini having a issue with that : (

You need to have them listed in the loot.ini with ANY activity, so it knows how to deal with them, if not, default action for a 'new' item not listed in the loot.ini will be to loot it, adds an entry into loot.ini and i believe set to "=keep"
Best best is do like Sum1 says, set all these items you dont want in your inv or laying around on corpses piling up, is to keep them in your loot.ini but set to "=destroy"... it will loot and immediately destroy it.

I would just post my loot.ini with literally everything VoA and later not worth a damn set to =destroy, but my main computer is in a box somewhere between Europe and the U.S. (okay, lets face it, its probably down the street in some container waiting on a German to finish paperwork).

I have the same issue that you experienced from time to time. When I was using EQ's advloot system I would put a bunch of bullshit to "never" so that I didn't roll or otherwise do anything with it. The problem is the MQ2autoloot or ninjaloot.inc stuff that we, as enterprising MQ2'ers, use on a daily basis conflicts with those settings. If I was using my normal, completely clean looters MQ2autoloot would work like a champ and would parse the loot.ini perfectly.
BUT... if the looter was changed to another toon for some reason, any previously set EQ advloot settings would conflict with the plugin and the shit would get rolled on and looted by a random toon. No bueno. At least there weren't corpses around, but going in and deleting loot on all my toons that I didn't want was annoying.
You found the solution, though. Go in and clear your advloot settings and let MQ2 do it for you. Doneskies.

Yeah thats exactly what I found when I came back to EQ this fall, and had to decide how i wanted to manage my loot.. I had previously set up all EQ advloot filters, and had some stuff running with ninjadvloot.. but plure's new autoloot plugin had since come out, and to be honest, I find it works very well..
I made the executive decision to convert everything to autoloot, and i (backed up and) deleted all my eq loot filter files for all my toons. Other than a few minor things, I'm very happy with how its working, and it keeps the corpse piles down in my camp...
