Problem - Enchanter will not Mez, or slow on Burn

Hello all! I am new and experimenting on a 4 box. I am Launching Redguides, Very Vanilla, then MQ. I made a profile and launch the 4 characters using MQ, Profile, launch all starred. All are loading fine. I am using Kissassist only so far and learning using that. I manually type /mac Kissassist on all 4 chars. I target myself on the tank, and target the Tank on the other 3 when typing /mac kissassist. The Macros seem to be running fine for most things.

I am manually playing the Tank, with the Cleric, Druid, and Enchanter on Assist to Tank. My main issue currently is that the Enchanter will not Mez mobs or cast slow on named (burn). I am attaching the enchanters .ini.

If someone can see what I am doing wrong please advise. I am open to all suggestions.

sorry to hear you're having issues - i moved your kiss support question to the kiss support section.

thank you for attaching your kiss in i in question - but it is better to paste the contents and not require people to download a file to look - on mobile that is particularly challenging to offer you help (i had to move to my laptop)

some notes for you:

unless you specifically know why you're using dpson=1 you should use [icopde]dpson=2[/code]

some folks have issues with debuffall flag, so it is often recommended to not use that

re: the other stuff --- make sure your xtarget window is enabled for "auto xhater" and you have your slots set to "autohater" --- otherwise mobs dont show up on your xtarget window.

I've never really used just regular spells in my burn section, normally it's melee disciplines...but you might try adding "|Mob" to all your burn entries.

So like Burn1=Suffocate|Mob

Then since your dps section also has Suffocate and Anarchy you aren't noticing that those might not also be working from the burn section. Also, the burn section would go in order. Is there any possibility that the mob is dead before your enchanter even tries to cast Tepid deeds? Also are you sure he's not casting it but it's getting resisted instread? I believe you would see what the enchanter was doing for the mob in the window that MQ uses, it echo's things there. So have you looked there to see what he's doing, or are you just not seeing the target getting slowed in your tanks target window?

As for the mez issue. I don't see anything wrong with you .ini file. I'm not sure where you are killing things, but I will say that kiss assist already has certain types of mobs that it treats/knows are mez immune, so it won't try to mezz them. The only other thing that I know can cause your character to not cast is the range to the mob. You have MeleeDistance=75, so the mob has to be within that distance for the enchanter to cast, but I sort of assume that isn't really the issue since you aren't saying your enchanter isn't casting...just that he's not mezzing.

Another thing I thought to add since your burn and dps items are so close. Think of the burn as extra stuff you want to do in addition to what you have in your dps section (and the stuff in the burn section would happen prior to actions in the dps section), rather than stuff to do instead of what's in your dps section. I'm pretty sure when the burn happens, KA will do the items in the burn section in order, then when done (and it just goes through that list 1 time I believe), it just switches over to the regular dps section until the target is dead.

My Cleric will Buff, dps, and Burn. My Druid will Buff, DPS, and Burn. My Paly who I am currently playing manually with Kissassist running, works great. This is a 4 box. The Enchanter will Buff and summon/buff Animation just fine, but does not cast any DPS, will not Mez, and only will cast Tashania on Burn.

I made the changes suggested, and tried some other things, but no success. This seems odd as I am using the same methods that are working for the other two toons.

I have deleted the kissassist_"charname".ini file for the Enchanter, made a new one by casting /mac kissassist in game without a target. I then edited the file using the same methods used in the Druid and Clerics files. No change.

I am trying to learn Kissassist and MQ as I level, adding things as i go, since it is all new to me.

I am thinking maybe there is something corrupt with that toon somewhere else within Kissassist or MQ? Maybe I should just level into the 50's and it will fix itself with the new spells at that level? Should I delete and reinstall MQ? If so, do I just save the kissassist_"charname".ini files for each of the 4 toons and paste them back into the Config Folder once reinstalled?

I don't know if this is related, but right before this problem with the Enchnter started the account went to FFTP. When I logged in it would not let me so I resubbed to premium. Before that the Enchanter was casting DPS.

Set the following and try:
MeleeDistance=125
MezRadius=100
AFKToolsOn=0 (just to check)

If those don't make a difference. Try creating a debug log and PM the log to me and I will check what is causing your issues.

Look here: Debug Log Help or use the /debug help command in game while running the macro.

TY I will do that shortly. Made changes to ini. I will use /debug all log in game.

This problem was solved by ctaylor22. TY for the solution.

The problem had to do with properly setting up the extended target window for each toon. This probably got messed up initially by me, as I copied and pasted the UI and UI settings form other toons to these toons, and my limited knowledge about how extarget works!

Indeed you did! TY. Reading that then did not mean anything really to me, as I was not concerned about the Extended Target Window, I was thinking. Extended Target and how it relates to how this works did not click at the time. I thought Extended Target Window was just showing mobs that were pulled, and on the tanks hate list, and served no other purpose. Plus I am inherently hard headed.

There was no extended target window when I spent most of my time playing EQ :)

My thoughts were to learn about MQ and Kissassist as I level, then learn about Xtar, Dannet, EQBCS, CWTN, Plugins, and other things later when closer to max level. I do now know more about Extended target, so all is good. The funny thing is that the issue would not have even occurred if I had not copied over the UI setting from the toon I did, I think.
