The Sanctity of the Scale: Task Part 1
This is the first task in a series of three. Find Y`ssuria the Elder at location 375, -905, -162 in Crescent Reach (in the area with the dragons).
You say, 'Hail, Y`ssuria the Elder'
Y`ssuria the Elder sighs with discontent and leans forward, whispering in a gruff tone, 'Have you ventured to Vergalid Mines and seen the swirling abyss? What you will find is an endless and hollow void. It holds nothing but emptiness. I have been there myself. I stared down that inky well and I can tell you that it echoes the feeling in my heart. This existence, this life, has no meaning without knowledge of the [sanctity] of the scale.'
You say, 'Sanctity?'
Y`ssuria the Elder says 'The scale is the most precious artifact in all of Norrath - it is a symbol of the god that birthed us and defines who we are. And yet a self-important imbecile holds access to it. I don't trust him, Lias. Is the artifact safe? Has it been damaged? Do we even know if it is still there? Ironically, for me [not knowing] is a fate far worse than any harm that may befall it. This uncertainty eats away at me.'
You say, 'Not knowing?'
Y`ssuria the Elder says 'Yes . . . While I cannot venture close to the Reliquary, perhaps you might be able to get a closer look.'
You have been assigned the task 'The Sanctity of the Scale'.
No dragonkin can venture into ashengate without the risk of coming under Dyn`Leth's control. In Y`ssuria's stead, you have been asked to travel to the heart of Ashengate Temple to ascertain the status of the Scale of Veeshan. You must stand on the precipice, view the Scale and then return to Y`ssuria with news of the legendary artifacts condition.
Gaze upon the Scale of Veeshan - Ashengate, Reliquary of the Scale
At the furthest point in the north wing of Ashengate is a crystalline scale of Veeshan (you'll know it when you see it). You must go right on to the tip of the precipice to get your task update. All mobs in the vicinity see through invisibility, so you'll need a group to clear.
Speak with Y`Ssurria the Elder (or something to that effect)
You say, 'Hail, Y`ssuria the Elder'
Your task 'The Sanctity of the Scale' has been updated.
You have helped to allay Y`ssuria's fears.
Your faction standing with Infiltrators and Traitors of Ashengate got better.
You gain experience!!
Y`ssuria the Elder says 'Thank you, _____. I do feel a bit better knowing that you have seen the great scale and that it is safe, but there are many more things that I do [not know] that have me worried.'
The Agony of Uncertainty: Task Part 2
This is the second task in a series of three. Upon completion of the previous task:
Y`ssuria the Elder says 'Thank you, _____. I do feel a bit better knowing that you have seen the great scale and that it is safe, but there are many more things that I do [not know] that have me worried.'
You say, 'What do you not know?'
Y`ssuria the Elder says 'Yes . . . While I cannot venture close to the Reliquary, perhaps you might be able to get a closer look.'
You have been assigned the task 'The Agony of Uncertainty'.
Though your words brought Y`Ssuria comfort, they mean little to her compared to the sight of the artifact itself. Now that you have tempted her with your titillating tale, she has asked you to embark on a second task. See Merchant Jhenner in Crescent Reach to procure the means to sketch the chamber housing Veeshan's scale. You will need some basic sketching tools and a blank canvas. The act of sketching will require your undivided attention for some time, so you may wish to bring friends to 'eliminate' unwanted distractions.
Merchant Jhenner is located at -1405, -1560, 34. From her, buy a set of sketching tools and blank canvas. Then head to the same place in Ashengate and begin your sketch.
The Ecstasy of Relief: Task Part 3
This is the third task in a series of three. Upon completion of the previous task:
You have been assigned the task 'The Ecstasy of Relief'.
This task involves a more 'detailed' sketching of the scale. (Merchant Jhenner, who is located at -1405, -1560, 34, also sells some high quality sketching tools, which are likely used in this task - confirmation needed).
Just turn in the first sketch, get the third task part, go sketch it again with the more expensive sketching tools and another canvas. When completed return and hand back your completed canvas and boom, CLOAK!
Completion of this task yields a character flag (text needed) as well as a cloak:
