Problem - Ducking/Canceling a spell makes caster melee attack!?

this has become a big problem for me as of late, lol....if I duck out of a cast or cancel a cast, My caster toons will run up, stick to the mob and start meleeing.... Any have a solution for this (yes i have melee off =P )


edit* correction, ducking will not trigger this, but if you hit your keybind for "stop casting a spell" it will

getting really annoying when i cancel a cast on one of my healers and they go running across the room to melee a mob =\ lol

I *think* there's an mq2 key that overwrites your default auto attack button (I believe it's x). You duck, mq2 turns on autoattack, mq2melee uses a stick command to get in range. I could be wrong...

oh, maybe this is it then? i rebound the cancel cast to 'z'....


edit* yep...thats definitely it....hitting z makes me autoattack......how can i remove this key bind??
 
its the standard for mq2melee i think? look for it in one of your inis somewhere

any clue what file? There is no generic mq2melee.ini...and servername_charactername.ini don't have any kind of keybinds in them.

nvm, i found it. macroquest.ini if anyone else wants to know.

and i'm assuming I can just delete this bind? not sure if it has to be set to a key or not

ugh, so deleting this or setting it to clear doesnt work b/c it just rebinds it to Z everytime i launch mq2. anyone know how i can get rid of this keybind?
 
Go look and see what is setup in EQ as well, you can have your binds in EQ doing the same thing.

i've got Z bound to cancel spell cast in game. That's the problem tho, macroquest.ini keeps resetting MELEE_Nrm=Z every time i launch it.
