With DB allowing P99 to continue, and even sanctioning them, I wonder if P99 will share how they detect MQ2? If they were to do that, would it mean the end of MQ2 as we know it? Thoughts, comments, reply below.

If Daybreak wants to flush money down the toilet, I guess they can. I'm also certain a multi-million dollar company has the resources to detect something trivial like MQ2.

EQ is old and needs an addon system. That's what we provide, SOE knew it, and Daybreak hopefully knows it.

Or can we remove this thread before someone at the next daybreak morning meeting brings this topic up.... duh....

I would love to see a legit addon system for EQ. Granted, it would end up being limited in the things it could do. I'm sure we'd lose all bot functionality lol

If they read this thread, remind them that we all have an average of 4 accounts which we usually keep gold and the latest expansions. Sounds like at least $1k per person per year. Multiply that by the 200+ who use it and I think they would be sad to see that kind of money go away. I know I wouldn't play if they banned it.

If I where banned for being an idiot and afk hunting (which I have done) I would just start again. If I where banned as a mass ban, I guess I would look for new endeavors.

No. The emulators and the Evequest servers are completely different and incompatible.

EverQuest devs have and have always had the ability to make EQ detect MQ2 when ever they wanted. They have never implemented it. They have fixed hardcore exploits that affected the game as a whole like ghost killing but if Daybreak ever choose to seriously detect and shut down MQ2 users its in their capability. Whether its cost effective in terms of programming, policing the servers or losing customers SOE never did it and I doubt Daybreak will either.

There is a ban wave coming though IMO. The assholes will use MQ2 to be Assholes on Ragefire and Daybreak is going to react to it.
