How do you unload the new UI?

I am having the same issues, I have tried clean reinstall of nvidia drivers, recovered my pc, reinstalled EQ, reinstalled MQ2. Everything ran like a top till that last patch!
I type play on launcher, then poof it just disappears. I have to log in like 3-5x before they stop poofing.

I have done all the things in this
but I obviously dont want to post or load any files for them to check.

When I search there, it isn't listed, should I just add it?

I added it, and still poof. But then again, probably didnt do it right. I fumble through this stuff.

Also it seems the first toon always loads fine, its the other ones who have to be relogged 3-5x. Could it be something with cores? I think read something about that, no idea. Pc is newer, Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-14900KF 3.20 GHz 64 of ram. Nvidiea 4770 gtx

yes, you should add it if it isn't there.

without a crash dmp everything else is guessing.

you should let windows handle your cores - the "new default" for that is just fine

I would check for the "usual" things.

vid drivers are updated.
windows is updated.
nothing weird going on with antivirus or file syncing (one drive etc)
log files aren't crazy sized.
you don't have additional overlays running - things like overwolf, nahimic, afterburner, nvidia game bullshit, etc

yep - but since he's having trouble keeping toons logged in, editing the .ini file is going to be less aggravating

The main issue is logging in, I hit play, screens does it sequence, then when it goes to select server or after I have selected it, it goes poof. If Im fast enough I can hit play on login screen and restart the cycle. Once Im logged in, they are mainly fine.

Its no a MQ problem, does it whether I have it loaded or not. Ive underclocked my pc, lowered power demands, getting to whits end. Takes 1/2 to hour to load 6 toons. I old school, I still have to have them loaded in a certain order, from when I really boxed haha.

Sounds like a full drive or bad (thermal limited) CPU.. If this happens without MQ, we can offer our tips, and tons of smart people here, but the best bet might be to ask DBG's to help (obviously dont mention *it happens with out without MQ*)

I tried all these, pc has been restarted, rebooted more last few days, then the last 6 months. It's something, Ill just throw this !@%#@#@ out and use my alienware laptop. Im burnt for now. Its weird, first toon always loads fine, other 5 are the problem..

Thanks guys, Ill keep working dbg knows its an issue, but they arent working to fix it.

Bunmer bro.

For shits double check in your eq client you have clientcore1=-1 clientcore2=-1 etc

Might be worth running memtest and ensuring you don't have some ram going out

The 14th gen cpus have a bug that needs to be patched otherwise it burns itself out and has errors. Check your motherboard site for bios updates, but if it’s already gone bad it’s too late.

First of all
What does "type play on the launcher" mean?
Are you using MQ auto login? A direct link to an eq client exe with the patchme flag? Etc.

Edit: missed one of your comments so some of the above is answered.

You mentioned Dbg, I tend to avoid those forums nowadays, have they acknowledged some specific issues?

Perhaps you've already gone through all of this. Sorry dude, know this can suck.
Some random thoughts if not:

What do you mean by mostly okay, are you experiencing other crashes?

Have you absolutely made sure you aren't running any software like OneDrive that could be locking files? First one loads, changes a file, something locks the files to sync, etc.

Just curious, not suggesting anything, but when you reinstalled eq, was it to a different directory? Did you try without copying stuff over, if so?

Are you using AutoLogin?

I had a similar issue. My problem was I was using the AutoLogin, and when I entered the profile for a new account, I had mispelled the server name.

Quick update, today for whatever reason ( I know our PC's listen ) I told the wife, I was going to load the pc onto our target setup and kill it. For half the day it logged everytime but once haha. Then ran some work stuff, so logged and came back, loaded about half-ass this time. So Im destroying shit and bam BSOD ( now I am going to shoot it I think ). First time for that ( BSOD ). I did get a destroyFinalizer MQ crash on load in attempt haha. Im about done, think I'll just replace the whole damn thing. No auto login, I played with it, but just as easy to put in the ones I want.

Before shooting it, wipe it and install fresh Win 11. You'd be surprised what kinds of things Windows borks for no good reason. Many reports come up of windows patches causing strange behavior with this certain thing or that certain thing, and the only thing you can do is reload from scratch.

Try that, and if that doesn't work, shoot it.

I should clarity I did a recover first week or so. I will go a complete after this weekend. I will deal with it. I have raids and don't want to have redo all my UI's again.

What MB should I purchase? Should I do the video card also? Should I just start all over haha

Just did a total reset, same thing. I dont crash or have any problems with any other game, other than EQ. Who knows, I'll have to deal with it, I guess :(

does a total reset mean fresh installs without copying any config files over?

I have pretty fast internet, download like 800k and upload over 300k. Man, yesterday was the worse ( like attempts for every toon after the first ). I am quite sure its something with DB, no other game acts up!!

Chasing down a random crash is a PITA.

Here is a video showing the intel 13th/14th gen self destruct bug.



Basically, intel and their board partners wanted to compete with AMD's high end chips and ended up having 'stock' or 'default' voltages that where too high for the chips. If you have a high end 13th or 14th gen intel CPU its possible that its running with too much juice and once its damaged, there is no going back.

--------------------------------------

After watching that you want to start with the easy stuff and see if you can force the system to crash outside of EQ.

--------------------------------------

1. Boot into your bios and check the idle cpu temperature. It should be ~ 30-40 deg.

2. Download and run hardware monitor - https://openhardwaremonitor.org/
-- look at your CPU/GPU temps and load.
-- CPU with nothing loaded should be in the 30-40 range.
-- CPU under heavy load should be no more than 90-95 depending on the model. Lower is better.

--------------------------------------

Next start stressing the system:

1. Run Memtest86 off a usb boot drive - https://memtest.org/
-- This lets you stress the CPU memory controller and ram.
-- It doesn't use your OS so no GPU , audio drivers, etc.
-- Let it run for 3-6 complete passes.

2. Run some CPU heavy load like prime95. Watch your temp's with hardware monitor.

Hopefully one of those things crashes because then it can point you in the right direction. If it passes all these tests then it is 100% an EQ configuration issue.
