I just had a crash and was hoping you got the dump so you can let me know if I have to fix something in my system. Oh, BTW, you owe me 5 tokens of resurrection :D

Solution
I pulled the dmp and asked brain to take a look at where eqgame was crashing and it is semi-inconclusive.
it is doing something about updating a buff window, and some other garbled mess.
I would double check that your UI is not out-of-date - as in buff/song/pet windows are all up to date and I would run the file integrity checking on the everquest launcher

but your dmp doesn't really provide much information at this time

dmps are automatically submitted to the developers and to cwtn and myself.

you can pm it to me - but by and large they're eq/direct-x and other things that aren't mq/plugin related --- things are pretty good these days (outside of patch days).

im pretty sure you have the most plugins i've seen loaded in a dmp at 60 heh

Just happened again so maybe that one shows something more helpful. I just updated the UI so hopefully that helps too

it isn't a matter of the dump itself, it is a matter of the nature of the crash, this does not appear to be one that is a quick fix

I understand. I guess what I meant to say is that I hope the new log provides more information to help find the root cause. Not expecting a quick fix :)

I always start by turning off things I've turned on since just before I started crashing. I'm often surprised at what makes things go crash... For example I installed a pdf reader that for whatever reason borked VV. Uninstalled it and my problem was solved. I also work backwards on plugins etc as well. latest added plugin or Lua gets disabled first.

Thanks for the tip Sifter. I really didn't do anything new and it has been stable since I updated the UI so keeping fingers crossed

I know this may sound extreme or overkill. But whenever I have weird crashes or problems with the computer or its programs.

I do a hard format of the computer and reinstall. Usually fixes all problems and possibly even future problems

Thats the simplistic way of dealing with glitches and problems

Generally, formatting a system is definitely overkill. If you don’t find out what is causing the issue, you’re just as likely to accidentally cause it again.

Check your computer event log...see if you have a kernel# you can follow. Sometimes if you have failing hardware EQ can push it to crash.
