Anyone know a good way to kill her? I have tried with my SK, Shammy, and Ranger all 116. No luck in killing her, she basically 1 rounds the SK with defense abilities activated.
We are all wearing ToL Tier 1 Group Armor.

Hello everyone,

I was wondering what strategies work best for taking down Morwenna Undertow in Cobalt Scar. I have the following group makeup:
SK, Shaman, and Ranger 116 all with Epic 2.0 and ToL Tier 1 Gear

So far, the SK is killed after about 10 seconds of combat as her DPS basically throttles him even with the Shaman and a Merc Healer.

Any help is appreciated, thanks!
 
You should be able to easily handle that mob.

It stinks or roots you tho. Probably take to fight to her and not try and pull it back. You might just be dying while trying to travel

That is what I thought, but yeah the SK gets eaten alive. I don't know if maybe slow is not landing or something. I will try to see what I can play around with to find out any more info.

"dies in 10 seconds" isn't a slow issue
 
Ah ok. So, thinking it might be something else? I think they have 340k HP with 6.5k AC when using a 1H and a Shield from ToL.
 
There are some, but not a lot. Mainly have TBM Augs, been going back and doing some RoS mob hunting as I am trying to get a Zerker up to 110. Have done a couple ToV Missions, but not enough to get any augs from that.

you are trying to do content years past where you are equipped to do it at, which might work for trash, but named are going to be rough

definitely consider getting your augs and Aas sorted out

Gotcha, thanks. I will work on getting some better tanks augs!
 
Taking the fight/group to her is the key. Basically, bum rush her before she has a chance to react. Use Defensive CD's if you are having an issue. I know you mentioned you were using them and getting 1 rounded which doesn't make sense if you are using sword and board. ToL T1 geared shouldn't have an issue at all if you have augs. Sounds like you are missing a lot, and missing AA's as Sic mentioned. 3 mercs too. FTP toons > Mercs.

Grats!!!!! I am a little confused however, as to why you had a Tank merc instead of your SHD whom actually needs the augs more than any of your other classes. The rule of thumb of gearing: Tanks > anything else! Interesting combo of toons/mercs.

Please do not take offense, I am just trying to be funny here... but did you bore her to death? She succumb to the amount of overhealing you had?

Is it not feasible to SHD/SHM/CLR/RNG/DPS mercs x 2 with the way you have your characters setup on accounts?

So, I actually had the following line-up:
Tank Merc - apparently > SK without augs but activated Defensive AAs? ( i am a bit confused myself honestly)
DPS - Ranger, Shaman, and Druid
Heals - Merc, Cleric

We were putting out at peak points around 1mil DPS, mainly from Ranger. However 1M is nothing when she has a total of 166M.

As for the combo you suggested, it is feasible, but when the SHD is there we often have an Enchanter and Druid to help with group content. We just happened across Undertow and thought we would try to take her.

I farmed this mob till every single type 5 slot on my SK was filled with her heroic dex augs, my group setup was SK with cleric merc, shaman with assassin merc and bard with assassin merc, she went down like a bard in a Tavern. SK Was 115 and 60k aa and armor was from whatever armor the restless ore in TOV made.
 
If this is a newly minted PL toon, make sure weapon stances are on. Autogrant does not do this for you.

Ah, thanks! I was wondering what combos worked, I think Bard is probably key there as well as the Shaman. I didn't know that Dex Augs were so good for SKs. I thought they needed Sta & Str.
 
I would also just check on your buffs, are you using ALL buffs available to you in the group setup... i.e. all your latest buffs that work with Dark Lord's Unity (Beza); I prefer the absorb version here... Disruption lines for the extra heal procs from cleric/sham/druid heals? Xenacious Skin more absorbs? Adamant Stance line 30k hps? Touch of Namdrows line another 5k HPs? (always keep these buffs rebuffed/refreshed with their short duration timers).... Thwart with AA proc more absorbs... Cleric HP/AC buff... All Shaman Stat buffs to include Focus Line and Listlessness (the slow/heal proc buff)... Druid Defense of the Reptile (Heal proc buff on melee hit)... any hp regen talisman buff from shaman or druid... prepull buff with Spirit of Renewal line (last 2 mins)... Also pulling with Parlay for Power I hope too! (so you can get the 2min AC buff in your song bar)

Also crafted stat food / drink... not too expensive... (and you can use budget food/drink to eat/drink to make sure your crafted stuff lasts a long time)

Also Tank Power Source helps (and increases if you get the Purity Augs for your 8 pcs of visible gear as well)

Especially on pulls make sure you got a lot of buffs rolling so you have time to get a heal and/or slow off on incoming... just my two cents to check out as well!

Thanks for the info, I shall check on all that. We recently got some augs and more AAs for the Sk. The Sk is now sitting at 7.6k with a sword and board so thinking of trying it again sometime.

Hi Sic, so technically I would give the tank Mode=8 Hunter und the others with cwtn plugins mode =2 chase. The toons with kissassist are on role=assist? And then Autofollow on the tank? Or would I then use vorpal since I use autofollow anyway?
 
If you spend some time focusing on your SK AA and augs you can dump the cleric and change all mercs to dps like rogues or wiz. Your kill rate with that group has to be painfully slow. I would make a bard to replace the cleric and level them while you collect augs in eok and beyond. Once geared and some actual dps you will destroy mobs.

I agree, that is where we are working right now. Gone back to do some RoS. We have Griklor on farm though in ToV so we have also been getting some of those, basically we kind of jumped in levels after 105 until we have outpaced the content.

Using autofollow while you're combat automations are trying to do their thing will cause conflicts and with the underwater pathing, you're just asking for all sorts of wonky shit to happen.

you should definitely not use autofollow while toons are trying to do combat.

I am confused now, so if my tank is in Hunter Mode, what do I need to do to allow my bard using kiss to chase? I looked at the kiss wiki and there is no chase or vorpal, unless I miss something

Edit - found it, I guess- /chase on

There should be an entry in the general section of the characters kiss in that reads;

ChaseAssist=1
ChaseDistance=10
 
So im not the one to revive old posts but i did find this one.

My question is, what is up with the pathing currently? While in the water, toons have decided to run all over the place for no reason. I can not figure out why.


EDIT** Like its bad enough that some of my toons are acting like they are getting feared......

I had that happen too and never could figure out why. Almost always seemed like only my shaman too
 
It happened Multiple times with mutliple toons but tank. Idk whats going on, i figured it was a nav mesh issue, but the mess looks fine.

I never seemed to have an issue with it when I just ran around with toons on chase MA and killed everything in the area or I would go to the southern most part of the zone, set a camnp under where she or her PH spawns and hit her with an arrow from a distance and then went back to the camp. /shrug

Ill try the chase /hunter mode and see what happens

Setting a camp down south seemed to work well as well for me. Pulled with SK and did not get summoned once. Drug her back to camp and win!
 
I found pathing was manageable with Hunter Tank + Chase Mode + UseMelee for all toons (CWTN plugins). I set center of camp on ocean floor to the east of the big pillar.

Still had the occasional issue with the shammy riding off to the south, but when I saw that I tapped 'Come to me' on the tank a couple times.
 
I have had toons path off to the edge of the map and go haywire - so I always make sure my Hutertank circle goes nowhere near the Edge of the map and then everything is fine.
