Question - /consider ?

/target has a hook, wouldn't /consider be a property?
You'd have to ask eqmule or brainiac etc, but i suspect because our /target does stuff the normal target doesnt - and there isn't much to do with /consider - like how we don't have a hook for /dance

Equating it with dance is kind of apples and oranges. If you want to know if a target is hostile, how would I go about finding out, other than attacking it?

Use /consider after /targeting a mob. You can also press C on your keyboard when you have a target.
Alternatively, try a /keypress c. Still have to have a target.

I ended up writing a sub with events to capture the result of /consider, since there doesn't seem to be a more integrated method.

You could always apply the /con colour rules in your code, since you know the mobs level vs your own without having to target. It would miss "weak" opponents, though, not sure that's exposed to the client without a round trip to the server.

I suspect going forwards no extra overloading of native EQ commands would be included to extend functionality, in favour of mq-specific ones. e.g. /mqtarget not /target

What would the overload of /con do? (What would be the additional functionality of a similar to /con command?)

As Sic pointed out, the reason /target exists is because it has more options (and extends the range) but /consider doesn't take options right now...just a command that works on your target.

vsab probably hit the nail on the head, depending on what you are trying to do.
