I'm new to this but have a full group with 5 chars using ini files. The Cleric doesn't seem to be doing heals. I've tried a couple ini files and tried to match/adjust spells on my spell bar to match all the heals, gem # on some ini files. I'm sure the ini file works right but not sure if I should be setting up spells in a certain order for the character to use. My melee characters attack, but not sure if any are actually casting spells (bst) if then can. Guessing I'm not understanding something between running the macro and how i need to setup the char spells. Any help is appreciated.

If you have all of the spells listed scribed you should be good to go running that ini. Of course the normal routine exists: /tar tank, /mac kissassist
 
Does it matter what order I have them scribed? Also noticed there are more listed (heals, cures, buffs) than a bar would have room for. Not sure if this is meant to have all of those in the event I switch my spell bar to them.
 
I don't think anyone in my group is casting spells. They only melee. Definitely overlooking something lol
Make sure the heals you listed in that section correspond to the spells you have memmed in the gem slot they are listed under [Spells]

I changed to a different uni that seemed more straight forward. I have all the spells in the same order as the gems listed. The cleric doesn't do anything lol. Well she will med and take rez's if needed. Just not cast any spells.

Make sure your tank is designated MA in group makeup. If that doesn't work, start from the beginning with Sic's video on KA.
 
this latest ini is kiss11. over 2 years old. forward compatability, yes. but why?

Have you tried rgmercs or xgen? both offer decently adjustable cleric builds.
 
Hey there, Wuhbye! 👋 I see you're having some trouble with your .ini file. 🤕 Don't worry, I'm here to help. 😊 My best advice is to try a completely different Cleric .ini, preferably something with the newest version of KissAssist which is KissAssist 12. 💾 This will help you rule out any issues with your current .ini file. ❌ If that doesn't fix the problem, I recommend checking your loaded plugins and macros, like MQ2Cast, to make sure they're turned on. 💡 I hope this helps! 🙏 If you're still having trouble, feel free to reply to this to ask me or others of our wonderful community for additional help. 😃

Really appreciate all the advise guys. I'm really trying to not be a pain I promise. I went through the training video a few times. Looks pretty straight forward lol. Not sure why cleric won't cast anything but I can tell something is working because she has accepted rez's and auto med before.

I've saved a more up to date ini file for the cleric (using ini files found by going through the MQ icon (config sectoin) as shown on training video to replace data)
I did change the Loadspell list on ini file from 2 to 0 since the training video had that.
I had the MQ2Cast plugin but didn't realize I had to trigger this in game. I've done this now.

I made sure the Gem1 - Gem 10 spells in ini match exactly what is on the clerics spell bar

There are two things below when running the macro (/mac kissassist) I'm not sure if there's an issue with.
I set tank as MA before running the /mac kissassist on cleric when targeting tank

Should these all say nothing defined?

Durango is right, this one is likely too old. Here's a thought/suggestion that may work. I went back to basics when I first setup my KA ini's by going super simple and making sure it worked, then began making more complicted adjustments as I found the need. For example, try modifying the original ini you posted to something similar as below and then grab one mob in a slightly lower level zone (to spare needless deaths) and test it there. Make sure the ini is in the correct folder (usually config at least for me), make sure the tank is both MA and MT in group and then start your macro with your tank targeted or namede in the /mac command upon execution. Watch the output in the clerics MQ tab and see if any errors exist as it generally tells you.

Really appreciate all the advise guys. I'm really trying to not be a pain I promise. I went through the training video a few times. Looks pretty straight forward lol. Not sure why cleric won't cast anything but I can tell something is working because she has accepted rez's and auto med before.

I've saved a more up to date ini file for the cleric (using ini files found by going through the MQ icon (config sectoin) as shown on training video to replace data)
I did change the Loadspell list on ini file from 2 to 0 since the training video had that.
I had the MQ2Cast plugin but didn't realize I had to trigger this in game. I've done this now.

There are two things below when running the macro (/mac kissassist) I'm not sure if there's an issue with.

Those changes look good and likely necessary but in al honesty, it seems this ini needs quite a bit of clean up imo. I'm no expert but I do know that extra or incorrect entries can make the script do funny things. For instance, the entries below and all that contain a";" in them under spells, heals, dps, etc seem odd. The ";" tends to be used to prevent the script from reading these entries, as far as I know. It allows you to put in notations for memory or reference. To put one in a dps, heal, or other command makes no sense to me (maybe someone else can chime in that knows more) but it would seem to make more sense to remove the entry/line all together and then adjust the section size to reflect the correct number of entries.

Nothing Defined. And you have the stuff in your ini file in the config folder KissAssist_ToonsName.ini
Should not be "Nothing Defined" Provided you are editing the right file.

You can also run kissassist /mac kissassist ToonNameToAssist

That's really the way I learned. Start SUPER basic by leaving most conditions OUT initially, start with a few heals and dps to get going and then add on the things you need the toon to do. Add in conditions when you see spells you only wnt cast on certain toons, at certain times, or undere certain conditions.

Many of the ini's on file are great, but they have been tweaked to fit the OP's use and may not fits yours. Also read up a ton on the command links below. While it seems arduous at times, it really helps you define what each section can and can not do.

 
Wow the light just came on guys! I did not realize there was more than one ini file for each character in that folder. I was updating the character ini and not the kissassist character ini.

Again, you guys are the best. I'm honestly surprised how much help I got on this.

I was wondering that as well, but I saw other post on it. I know I have done the same myself in the past, so not uncommon. Fir some toons I have 2 or 4 ini files with slightly diff names depending on the content I want to do, so keep at it, keep asking questions and trust me, you'll soon be writing your own.

EDIT- And then you'll take the plunge and by the cwtn plugin's and never look back. I like KA and I really don't mind customizing ini's, but the more technical you get, the more times you have to test, adjust, test, etc. cwtn plugins just work and they work SUPER well. Can't wait for DRU/WIZ and I'll likely hang up KA all together :)
 
I am having a very similar problem with my shaman at the moment. Even with editing the KA ini on my shaman last night my shaman absolutely refused to heal anyone but himself. I tried modifying the ini a few times to turn buffing off and DPS thinking there was a priority issue even went as far as removing all conditions, dps and buffs and still just refused to heal anyone but himself. I had no problems the night before but my computers malware protector decided MQ2 was evil and destroyed the base folder so i had to reinstall everything. I made sure to do a fresh KA install and got the base KA ini's pop up and replaced them with the ini's from "Maximum Effort!" but since then everything works the same except for the shaman. Its like the shamans ini file cant see the group and just sits there canni/healing itself after i manually pop spells. Any suggestions would be great.

Edit: As a note the shaman will DPS/Debuff, use conditions and buff the entire party so it does see that it is in a party and there is an MA. It even heals the pets! The only thing it refuses to do is to heal the party members.

The fact that the ini is doing other things seems to indicate it's not a anti-virus issue or it's likely none of it would work. It sounds like something in the ini may be off. I would recommend with posting the ini file in it's entirety (sans any character names) and see if someone can find an issue there.

Without seeing the .ini, this is all guesswork (please post your .ini), but here are some thoughts:
Is your HealsSize set correctly? It should be set to whatever the highest Heals# you have. Is HealsOn=1 or 2?

To reiterate the shaman is now healing but ive noticed its only healing everyone BUT the assist (using /mac kissassist on the tank). Right now the quick fix is to use it on someone who does get hit often so the shaman can heal the MA
 
Make sure to set MT/MA on tank and use "/mac kissassist toonname" or "/mac kissassist toonname 99" from the SHM. The role in the ini will take care of the assist part on its own and it should heal all group members.

Make sure the ini is in the correct folder as well (config). Many times we see people with multiple ini files in several locations from editing and they are grabbing the wrong one inadvertently.

Did you also look at the output in the MQ folder when you initially load the ini for any erros?

I do keep an eye on the MQ window on all of my toons but using kissassist even without the assist on the MT will cause the shaman not to heal them specifically
 
Still somehow feels like it has something to do with the MT/MA setup based upon the behavior you are describing, but I'm sure you know how to make sure the Tank is MA/MT so I think the best way to diagnose it would be to simplify the test. Take the tank and SHM into a slightly lower level zone and change the Greater Healing|65 to 99. Let tank take a few small hits (avoiding death) and see if the SHM heals him.

I only found 2 thinggs in the ini in my previous look that MAY contribute, but I'm not KA expert by any means, so maybe someone with more knowledge can comment, however;
Your DPS section, while off, contains this entry. I would change it to 0 for now. This means the SHM will only focus on the MA's target therby freeing up his ability to heal and not focus on Debuffs as intently as the 2 setting does. This may certainly be more of an issue if your pulling multiple mobs.

Try changing that to a 0. While I am not sure if this entry will affect heals the way it does DPS, it's something I would try since it requires LoS which can interrupt casting or prevent it.

I feel like the testing in a lower zone with just the 2 toons may shed some light on the issue.
