REWARD (aka - Why should I bother):
The Bifold Focus is a rare clicky from the Rain of Fear Expansion.
It is a twincast clicky usable by ANYONE.
When you click it, it gives you a Buff Called: Bifold Focus that has a 30 second timer.
Everyone should have it! ie SK want to trigger Alliance with just 2 casts - this will help.
Zone: Valley of King Xorbb
NPC - Thistlebrush
Keyword: Large
Zone in Phrase: Valley
The item is VERY RARE - But if you get the Achievements, you can unlock the Item from the Teir 2 Vendor in Shards Landing (840 Crystalised Fear)
840 may seem a lot - but this raid actually gives you 120 Crystalised Fear - so pretty easy.
Also - MONEY - this raid gives 3 chests with 40K pp in each chest.
NOTE: Progression is required before Thistlebrush will talk to you. The pre-tasks are fairly straightforward so I wont detail them here at this time.
There are 3 Fights in this raid
Fight One - The Guardians at the Gate:
ie: Mordaur (Minotaur) and Findlewill (Brownie) sitting on their pedestal.
Not far from Zone in - you find these two dudes.
No great strategy....Kill the Brownie First.
No need to worry about any achievements here.
Pretty good for about 15 seconds work....
Run back to where thistlebrush is standing at zone in.
Have all your toons target him and say Next battle to teleport to the next fight.
Note: PAUSE KA so they dont try and fight his ass.
Fight 2: Yymp the Abyssal: (Fire Mephit dude - Splits into Adds at intervals. For Fun - try to use Fire against him - and see if you can kill yourself on the reflect)
Things to watch here is the Big Pit. If you fall in there are mobs at the bottom. You may not die, but it becomes Chaotic.
Yymp is Leashed to this room too - so need to balance him about halfway between the wall and the Pit.
I just turn AOE on and go for it. You do need to kill each wave of adds - and it is possible to Wipe the raid when the Wizards are using Fire.
I just ignore the mechanic and if a few folks die, then they should get better gear n stuff.
Once again dont worry about the achievements....nothing spectacular from this fight.
Head back up the Stairs to Thistlebrush, and say Next battle to him again.
You now find yourself in the Chamber of King Xorbb
You need to go through the text from Barleyburr and Lupin to make him spawn
And there he is sitting at his throne.
Good news is - He is Non Agro. Feel free to setup behind him.
The TRIGGER PHRASE IS: ESCAPE
Xorbb doesnt actually talk to me...something about being a piece of refuse...so it took a while to figure out his trigger phrase.
There are 3 Achievements we MUST get to open up the Bifold Focus.
You are going to do this raid at least 3 times to get your Bifold Focus - so concentrate on getting the hard achievement first.
1. Avert your Gaze- very easy - Respond to a Emote. (Pass one emote and Burn his ass to the ground = very easy)
2. Mirror Mirror - VERY HARD IN CAPS - Unless you are using MQ2
Kill Xorbb very slowly - at around 90% you get adds. All DPS get off Xorbb and Kill the adds.
Set AUTOLOOT raidloot On and let autoloot hand out the crystal shards.
Xorbb will wander off and he will do a Emote for his evil ray of destruction.
Have your MQ2Event trigger and use the Crystal Shards.
You will get an emote syaing well done - you succeeded.
Wait till Xorbb comes targetably again and BURN him to the ground.
3. Procrastinators Unite -
Just kill shit slowly, and let all the adds spawn and its really chaotic, cos they are charming you and stuff - but its very fun to lose control.
Just dont kill them all too quick.
