Problem - Can't get any kissassist macros to work (6 Viewers)

First of all I had an issue with the macro not working at all and not making an ini. I uninstalled and reinstalled under C directory.

After reinstalling the macros worked, they generate an ini and im able to edit it but none of them do ANYTHING.

The macro turns on and they stand there doing nothing, i've gone over the setup instructions and will link below my necros ini as an example.

Looking for any help getting it setup, or if some one can walk me through advanced setup id be happy to pay for your time.

Your ini file doesn't have anything configured in it. It has NULL values everywhere which means it will not do anything. You should probably start with an ini created by someone else, and then you can learn the ropes from there. Here's an example ini from the resources section.

You first have to have a toon set as Tank. We call this the Driver. If you are just trying to run this necro as your Driver you need to set your role as Tank. Read thru the Wiki link below.

@reed - I use /kissassist assist and have the tank targeted
@Bellop the first time i installed it when i ran the kissassist macro it said i didnt have ninjadvloot and would shut down immediately, since reinstalling it to c directory it doesnt give any errors - they just refuse to do anything, i spent last night copy/past various premade ini and i cant get any of them to do anything, they dont move, buff, attack, pet attack, nuke, dot nothing - all three of them do absolutely nothing

I used /mac kissassist puller on my puller and he pulls, but once again he refuses to do anything, no buffs, no pet attack, no nukes - just body agros mobs runs them back to camp and will melee assist, but nothing else

Dpson=1 with a |100 is discouraged. You'll have bad times.

Should use dpson=2, and just use |99 dpson 2 isn't "health value" it is "importance brackets top to bottom" with an assistat of 99 or lower

Ctaylor has mentioned a few times assisting at 100 or DPS health value for 100 is discouraged for kissassist

Are you targeting self on the Driver and doing /mac kissassist tank ? I would guess this is a startup issue if you have tried different INIs. Make sure you have the group set to their roles ingame by right clicking in the group window and selecting roles. Driver should be Main Assist.

Starting KissAssist​

Basic usage

Target your main assist and type "/mac kissassist" and kissassist will automatically use your current target as the assist and use the predefined role set in your .ini. Alternately, you can make specifications on startup:

/mac kissassist [KissRole] [AssistsName] [AssistHealth%]

Example:

/mac kissassist assist Bob /mac kissassist assist Bob 98 /mac kissassist puller BobTank /mac kissassist tank

For tank characters, you can have them assist themselves, which will make the tank decide which mobs to target. It's generally a good idea to have your tank decide which mobs they're going to tank if a real player is not going to be the main assist. Characters with Tank Roles will default to themselves as MA. You should have only 1 character in your group set in a Tank role and all other characters should be in an Assist or Puller roll.

For all other characters, assist the main assist or your tank if they are the main assist.

The optional [KissRole] startup modifier is used to define which role you will be in when starting KissAssist. If you choose not to define a role, KissAssist will default to whatever role you have selected in your .ini file.

The optional [AssistsName] startup modifier is used to declare who you'll be assisting. This can either be someone else, or if using either puller or tank modes, you can declare yourself the main assist. You MUST have a target selected if you choose not to declare a main assist when starting Kiss.

@reed yes i am, i have tried about 8-9 premade profiles about 3 per character, they do nothing every time - before i turned firewall off and reinstalled i was getting massive amounts of injection errors - for example i cant even get my melee characters to use mq2melee - i set it up so they can do autoskills and they dont do anything - i think its something with my plugins or something, computer blocking it or something.

I tried rgmerc too and couldnt get them to do ANYTHING so im kinda stuck on what to do which i was offering cash (paypal) for some ones time if they could remote in and help me advance setup my mq2

It sounds like you have an issue with directories. I think your loading blank ini files, not the ones that you've configured.

When you say you reinstalled on the C drive, what did you actually reinstall?

Everything should be under the Config folder of your Macroquest directory.

Right click the Macroquest icon in your system tray, point to Open Folder near the top and you'll see a list of the MQ folders. The Config folder is the one you want to be working in.

There should be files in there named something like "KissAssist_toonname.ini". Are those the files you're editing?

This was the next step in my thought process. Either a startup error ingame or it was targeting a bad ini. If there was a reinstall i am guessing duplicate inis and/or it is trying to reference the incorrect ini.

@naam yes - i reinstalled to program files under c directory, i am editing the .ini files in the config folder under the vanilla MQ folder etc.
I agree it seems like its just running off blank files, i even made copies of the ini files in the macro folder just incase.

I've had issues tbh since i downloaded, at first nothing would inject, so i had to uninstall mq2 and do a fresh install with firewalls off, since then it injects fine but i cant get anything to work - cant get them to use skills through mq2melee, cant get them to autocast, cant get downshit/holyshits to work and trigger buffs, items etc.

ive never had anywhere near this amount of issue before, i dunno what to do

kiss inis go in your config folder - not macro folder (they used to, but not for years at this point).

they go kissassist_dudebro.ini in your config folder where "dudebro" is your toon name.

if you do a /mac kissassist and one doesn't exit, it will make one with defaults and then you can edit it and save it and then restart kiss or do a /kasettings to reload the ini
