Question - Can you add a line where you can assist a specific named charactor?

Is it possible to add something like:

Role: Assist
Assist: Trump

When I have a group assisting a player in another group it doesnt seem to work to well. I was wondering if its possible to add a line in the KA where you can add a specific name to assist and if that would make it happen consistently.

No. We will never create a way that requires you to enter a character name. What I have found when assisting someone outside your group, is to make sure you turn off Group Main Assist in the group window so the assist routine is forced to use your MainAssist you assigned when you started the macro..

So sometimes i have my group of 6 and then 1 or 2 dpsers in 2nd group. Do you mean i should turn off the group role of main assist in group 1?

I have done this where I have the leader of group 2 assist the MA of group one, then have all of group 2 assist leader of group 2.

worked well for 2nd group if all casters, not so well if 2nd group had melee.

Mind I havent tried it in a few months.

The group that the main assist is NOT in should turn off Group main assist.

I think they mean the one that you can set in EQ under the ROLE drop tap in the UI.

From the leader in the group. look at the group window and if you see crossed swords above one of the characters HP bar then right click on that character and un-select Main assist..

Ok thats what I thought. Ive tried that before and for some reason the other group wasnt assisting the ma in the other group. Thats why I had started to post but I will try again tonight. Probably operator error.

Does everyone in the "other group" need to be assisting the MA in the other group as well as the leader? Or are they all assisting the leader of their group?

kiss dps toons will not assist outside of group they use xtarget to get your assist so if you never agro anything it will never work.

That is not completely correct. The logic in KA for assisting is to check and see if you have a Group.Mainassist and if you do then assist them. The next check is if the MainAssist has a target then assist him/her.

And if those 2 checks fail, then use the xtarget.

This is why I started this post. I want my groups to be able to assist 1 MA.
