Question - can i ask KA to cast a buff by ID number instead of spell name

the wizard 118 buff, scales of the crystalwing, shares a name with the wizard 73 buff. the search function showed one other person who had this issue, but they said if they added rk. II that the problem was solved. i attempted to add Rk. II to my buff to no avail. my wiz continues to cast the lvl 73 spell. my wiz has Rk. III of the lvl 73 spell and i'm wondering if that's what is defeating my attempting to add Rk. II onto the lvl 118 buff. i can't delete the lvl 73 spell from my spellbook, so i'm curious if i could ask KA to cast the spell by id number or if there is a syntax i could use for that specific spell. it's a buff, not a combat spell, so is command:/cast an option? i don't keep that spell always loaded, but if if that's what is required, i suppose i could get crazy and abandon a mem'd evac.

i'd appreciate any thoughts you have.

I put the Rank in the buff line and it would mem the wrong spell, but buff with the right one. @ctaylor22 might be able to shed some light on it

I put the 118 spell in the very first spot in the spellbook and the 73 on page 140, and it didnt solve the issue.

If you have 2 spells with the same name, by moving the spell you want memed to before the other spell, in your spell book, solves the issue of what spell will be memed. EQ will search your spell book for first spell it can match.

Define before, cause I put the 118 spell as the very first slot in the spellbook and the 73 as the very last spell in the spellbook and it did not fix the problem.

That is strange. Could it be that EQ has changed the way they search the spell book now?

can confirm. tried w/ and w/o the rk for the sake of science.

Your problem is you have zero Wood Elf Rangers. They don't have these types of problems!

I will have to check and see what it will take to use the spell id. I see the /memspellslot command will take the Spell ID or the Name, so it should be possible. Will add to my list of future enhancements.
