Question - Boxing in Phinigel questions.

I have been trying different methods to multibox in Phinigel from Splashtop to Synergy on my second pc. I love using splashtop but the not being able to alt tab between my main pc EQ and splashtop is becoming an aggrevating experience. If anyone has any software streaming ideas that rivals splashtop without disabling hotkeys let me know and I will donate coin and rep to you. This has been frustrating me for weeks.

Sorry, most here won't mess with Phinny rules as to avoid catching any unwanted attention from DBG. There are 2 other TLP's you won't need to break boxing rules on to be able to box on 1 PC.

You can fire up windows native Remote Desktop Client on each computer or use VNC. If you have a monitor for each computer you can use Share Mouse, it's a free KM solution. You still need a computer for each instance of EQ.

Strategies for legit boxing on Phinny is not an issue. Any 3rd party software that lets you control 2 computers easily post as many solutions as you want.

Share Mouse is similar to Synergy except it's free. It also gives you a shared clipboard! But Synergy pro is only $29, something I might have to look into!

synergy is not boxing, it works like this...

It is a KVM Software allowing you to use 1 keyboard and mouse to move off your main monitor onto another computer, so you still have to have that other computer there. So yeah it would work on phinny but you would need the PCs to do it with...

do you use separate mice for each computer to combat the sensitivity issues with mouselook?

Turn mouse sensitivity down to zero percent on the non server computers. This helps a ton.

To run multiple computers on 1 monitor, you need a hardware solution. Typical KVM's with high resolution are several hundred dollars. If you use VGA, you can probably get a 4 port for under $100. If you use HDMI, Viewport, or digital DVI you're looking at least $300 for a 4 port.

Got it on the KVM switch, will have to look into that a bit more.

Any guides on proper set up of synergy ? Cannot even get the mouse cursor to show on the box.

I used Mouse without Borders as well from getting from one PC to the next. However, I noticed some wonky'ness when trying to control EQ on the secondary PC with this program if I had different resolutions going due to different sized monitors. There is an option with the program that helps, but I wasn't able to get it to my liking.

I have heard of some using a Steam(?) account to stream 1 PC to the main PC and alt tabbing between the accounts that way. I have not personally done it, but I know quite a few who do it that way.

With EQBC / True Vanilla possibly going away (Confirmed yet?) I have been thinking about the alternatives that were being discussed here.

I saw someone had mentioned Hotkeynet to broadcast commands to multiple PCs. I have found that while this works, it frequently triggers the "no box code" (usually after zoning). This results in all toons going LD. Does anyone have any thoughts on how to avoid this?

Works pretty well for the price, the kangaroo PC are 100 but dont run nearly as well as this laptop, for those looking to box more. Didnt come with a windows key though, but I'm in the process of emailing them for mine.
