Question - Boxed group help

Good day all. I have a question regarding my boxed group setup I’m currently running. Would like some advice on which toons to run in my box. I currently have 5 accounts, and group in a Merc cleric (honestly not sure of the tier atm)

current setup is as follows:
91 heroic SK
87 heroic shaman
88 bard
82 ranger (600aa’s atm) not sure whether to have this toon melee or ranged though
85 zerker (700aa’s atm)

I have an 88 mage on the ranger account. And an 87 heroic BL on the zerker account. Would it be better to swap those out, or one for one, Ect? Would it be better to make a 6th account and have an actual boxed cleric?

I’m currently just hanging around some HoT zones, the grounds. Ect. Most of the toons are HoT tier 1 and 2 armor equipped. And various HoT grounds and floor 1 item equipped.

any advice would be greatly appreciated.

in my experience having a real cleric is almost always preferred over a merc - even if they are autogrant and kept f2p - they just have some customization available, and more items in their toolbox for better gameplay imo.

your group has the fundamentals covered - real tank, real healer (shm supplemented by clr merc), and real CC (bard)

Shammies start getting much more capable at being a "solo" healer once you get into the 100s

If I had your group, however, I would probably do the real cleric thing, and then you would have a very stable, supportable, and functional group that should allow you to any group content you can toss at it (level gear aa appropriate of course)

I'm very lazy, but I've found I love my mage for call of the hero ... run one toon versus dealing with pathing etc. and fire up COTH has made my 6 box team much more enjoyable for me personally.

At those lvls that grp make up is fine and merc healer is fine, while a live cleric is ideal , there is a shm in grp
if that ranger became a bst instead you would be more on your way to having a grp that can do very well all the way to end game

you have a tank (sk) one day solo healer (shm), brd, zerk, dps (adps), and an empty slot
Grp will do just fine

I am leveling up a group that is Paladin, Bard, Shaman, Berserker, Berserker, Rogue. I use the Shaman to heal (from 85 to 102 so far) without any issue. Hopefully it won't change as I get to the end game. I would agree adding a 6th character would be better than a merc healer but I don't think it must be a Cleric. Let your Shammy heal and see how that works.

Thank you all very much for the responses! It’s much appreciated. I might go ahead and roll a cleric on another account and drop the Merc healer. But will also test the shammy heals and see how it goes before hand.

I’m overall happy with the group setup atm. But just feel it’s missing that little something that could boost it and make it better.

Sk, shaman, bard as your core group can do pretty much anything by themselves tbh. The zerk and the ranger work well because sk, shaman bard, is also a very strong melee setup. If anything I’d say you could swap the ranger for another class if you wanted, but the rest I’d keep exactly as they are if I were you.

One tip I would give you however, is put the highest level toon you have on 100% AA, and have the other toons catch up. Then you can run things like gribbles HAs for some easy exp and gear much easier. (There is a macro here that will run gribbles HAs I believe, as well)

I’d also recommend making the SK, all access for AA auto grant, and prestige items. A strong tank will make up for most of the other deficiencies that come with f2p toons
