Hey guys I'm looking for idea's for my 1-40 grind, I currently just have a druid sitting outside of my group healing/Dsing but I would love to get it done a little faster.

What is the best way for you to get 1-40?

Throw a Bard in the group with player to be PLed, have bard sing low level AOE DOT song.

Use a higher level player with DS that can keep aggro on groups of mobs without doing damage. AOE snares, taunts, etc. DS them, round up a bunch of mobs, and run and face a corner so all the mobs beat on you from behind without you riposting. Bard song does at least 1pt of damage to all the mobs, it gets experience for the group. Alternately, if you don't want to use a Bard in group, the PLer needs to do at least 1 point of damage to every mob, cast a rain spell, use a clicky damage item, melee, etc.

If you want your melee/defensive stats maxed, you're doing it the right way healing/DSing.

redwine is still feasible at that range... I did 1-21 on a few chars yesterday to get them the drunkards stein... cost was about 7k plat or less.
with an exp pot it got them all to 21 before potion ran out...

doing 21-40 that way would probably take longer than a good old regular ds pl but I'm not sure.

if you can pull with a bard/sk i took my PL characters to City of mist and pulled half the zone, it took forever to /hitall with the throw stone mac but it only took like 45 min to level to mid 40s or so with the amount i was pulling

edit

i also had a bard, mage and druid in there with a SK tank.. so DS was really really high when the mac finished

CR --> Blightfire --> City of Mist = mid 40's. Use the "mass pull with SK" method.

So I just tested it for about an hour I went straight to unrest at level 2 aoe song with the bard and got to level 15 in about an hour of messing around.

I used a bard cleric mage.

I was using the bard to pull with his aoe slow song which seemed to work okay for unrest, would another class be better for pulling? his aoe slow was just okay at pulling.

Buff druid , go buy you some "oil of fennin ro" , they cost about 1400PP pending on Faction , but only need like 5 , these oils hits ALL the mobs not just a selected few as a AE does . put a low lvl DS on your druid so you can build some agro from heals and the damage from DS . once mobs get to about 40% hit em 1 time with the OILS just 1 click . move back and let the druids DS finish them off for the XP. reinse and repeat but with a stronger DS . kep the mobs close to or same lvl to avoid resists from the OILS . Kurns , until 15 or so then go Pull whole yard in Unrest until 20 or so then work way inside for about 5 lvls then hit Lguk Bedroom camp doing same way . that takes you to about 30-35 efficiently . then move down to safe hall to get 40 . then head to TT get your SEB keys , and finish off 60 there . may need few more OILS . there is also caves in WL you can farm the PBAE effect rods does same thing and they are free

I pretty much just always level a bard to group with whatever I'm PLing whenever I powerlevel. I probably have 30+ bards that are level 40 on Ragefire lol. The bard level 2 AE has a negative resist mod on it which makes it land a little easier on higher level stuff. Not to mention it'll pulse every 6 seconds for free.

I'm pretty sure I have an even more in-depth walkthrough for PLing on TLPs written up here somewhere (other than the one I linked above), but I don't remember what thread it was located under.

Levels 1-40 in 1 day powerleveling on phinny using a 60 cleric, druid, (bard optional)

I would started in the zone ?paludal caverns? at level 1 and would stay there until level 10 by using a high level druid. When you port into Paludal evacuate at the entrance, this will put you on the lower leveled side of the zone. I ALWAYS leveled a mage with the main toon I was powerleveling because the mage has a low level non-resistible pboe (point blank area effect) spell. I would unequipp my primary on my druid and run around attempting to punch/ gather 30+ mobs, then cast a low level damage shield on the druid to take the mobs to half hp while throwing a couple of heals on myself (druid) to help build hate. Once the mobs were ready I would pboe with the mage and boom lots of xp.

At level 10 I would take my characters to the zone ?estate of unrest? and do the same with all of the undead mobs (they don?t run away when they are low hp which is why I prefer this zone over staying in PC until 20). With the druid I would gather all the mobs in the courtyard and inside the estate, basically anything I could pull without upsetting people. I would repeat this until I was level 20 (if the xp was still flowing steady). If the xp had started to slow around level 16-18 I would head over the zone ?upper guk? and set up at the zoneline to ?lower guk?. In upper guk I would cast root on every mob around 35% hp for the fact that they run when they get low on hp. This seems to be the most tedious part of the way I would level, but it got the job done without having to have an enchanter or other means of controlling the low level frogs. At level 20 I would head into ?lower guk? into the bedroom camp. If you can find a couple of higher level people lfg I suggest inviting them to your group and tell them to tag each mob once they reach 50% hp. Offering a PL spot in General chat will get people switching characters to jump in, so filling a group should not be an issue. Remember full group + indoor zone = fastest xp. Buy several stacks of Kilva?s Skin of Flame or another type of damage shield potion. These potions should run about 10plat each. My favorite class to pull with was my Cleric. Unequipp your primary and run around punching the mobs in bed room until you have the camp on you, spam heal yourself with remedy or another quick heal spell to build agro. Make sure you have your damage shield pot burning before you pull or you will get interrupted and won?t be able to get it off. Also, have your druid?s DS on before you pull with your cleric, having him hit you with a DS after you pull will almost always pull a couple of mobs off of you. Whenever I was able to barrow my friends Bard I had him playing DS songs, the 3 different types of damage shields (potion, song, spell) stack. If a bard is available and you will be doing over 100dmg in DS to these mobs.

Once you are level 28ish you are ready to go deeper into the zone. While in the Assassin / Supply camp, there is a hallway with a ladder at the end of it. There are several cubbies, on the left side (while looking at the ladder) the end cubby (closest to the ladder) allows you to fall down into it the executioner camp, fall down with your characters and set up there if the zone is empty, otherwise head to safehall and set up there. From level 28 to level 40 you are going to pull everything in the zone, including the live side. It will be a long day but without XP pots or bonus server XP I have gotten plenty of toons to 40 in 1 day using this strategy.

If you can level new toons with a partner. My buddy would play the druid while I played the cleric. If I needed lifesaving heal I would tell him to stack on me, he would heal me with the druid and I would spam heal him with 1 quick heal to pull the agro of the mobs back onto me immediately.

Don?t underestimate the mobs when you pull, especially past safehall towards the Lord camp. When I was doing this my cleric was 60 with Raid gear and AA?s. With a 65 this will be 10x easier and maybe you don?t need a cleric at all, I'm sure a 65 druid will work just fine.

1-10 = DS + Healer Out of Group
10-40 = Mage pet to sub 20% health, reclaim, root the mob, DS kill down the rest of the way (Can also be done with FD classes, but I've found I prefer the mage pet reclaim as a pet reclaim never fails)

1-40 in a day if you're dedicated. (Did 1-52 in a day like that once with 40-52 done in a group of 60's)

So I already did one group I'll probably do another group in a few weeks but here is what I did

I made a group with a bard I got the bard to level 2 and went straight to unrest

I went from 1 to 26ish in unrest using a 60 bard cleric and mage

Then I went to lower guk and did 26 to 41ish I had to add a Enchanter for this and a shaman for backup heals.

The bedroom camp was pretty easy it wasn't until l moved to arch magus/ frenzied and lord camp I had a harder time but my cleric and bard had little gear and aa's

Overall it took me about a day and a half however next time I do it my cleric and bard will have much better gear and aa's and I think I could do it in about 8 hours

I don't play on TLP but back in the old days of EQ for those upper 25-40ish levels, what I used to do was load up 2-3 different nukes on enchanter of various dmg degree, load up your enchanter pet.

1) Nuke/pet tank the mob down to 1% health

2) Mezz the mob

3) Memblur the mob

4) Let low level toon kill it from 1%

Think HK was a good zone to do it in as you can do 2-3 mobs at a time there. Bonus points if you do it with charmed pet to make it go faster!

Thoughts on places to mass pull and use oil? I was thinking City of mist, but that wont work until low to mid 30's as it will probably get resisted. Trying to find a place around late 20's to get me to low to mid 30's then from there to 40. Thoughts? Lower guk and Upper guk? Somewhere were the mobs will automatically agro and have low resists would be great :)

Thanks!

I like Uguk starting around 18 but the downside is that the mobs are living so they run. I use an enchanter with AoE stuns and a bard with the AoE snare to help. The hallway zone into Lguk on the east side of Uguk has a 90 degree angle that is perfect for getting them packed up (labeled 7 on the map below).

At around 27 I move into Lguk and start with the upper floor and move deeper and deeper until 40. My favorite spot to camp is the little hall in front of the Sage/Scribe. Again it has a 90 degree angle that is great for grouping the mobs up (17 on the map below).

Unrest and Mistmoore

Mistmore doesn't have the mob density in my opinion compared to other options, plus awful pathing and running mobs. Things peolpe don't know either for 18-30, Dalnir is epic. Respawns zone wide are 7 minutes :shh: (Oh, and also it has a pretty good ZIM)
In kunark I was able to pull the entire top floor every 7 minutes to level 24, then drop to the bottom floor and train the enitre zone to the one way wall, then pull the other side of it.

I normally head to guk as other suggested at around 28 to finish off the grind to 40.

My leveling takes about 1 hour to get to Unrest + level to 18ish.

A little over an hour and a half (maybe 2 hours) to get to Dalnir + level to 28.

Then like 2ish hours or so in Lguk depending on if I can pull the entire zone.

If you're not pulling zones of mobs (or unable to), then other areas might be better.

I've never been to this Dalnir place you speak of. I must try this out. Thanks for the info, this is a good breakdown.
