Problem - Bard Mezzing

I am having issues with my Bard and his mezzing. He often tries to mez a target and melee that same target it at the same time. He has also not cast his AoE mez when there are more than enough mobs in camp to do so. I am on Ragefire and level 85. Here is his ini:

If you don’t want the bard to melee then you can change MeleeOn=1 to MeleeOn=0. I would do that first and see if it helps.

I've been having similar, not exactly the same, issue on live with a 115 bard.. I normally sit active on my tank's window, so i dont see the exact interactions going on with my bard (he's a red-headed step child, and I WILL BEAT HIM if needed).. but i thought something funky was going on so watched him through a few fights..

He was doing something similar to what Jalerian was describing.. In my case, he'd successfully use the AE mez when the group of mobs pull to the camp, then he would start single mezzing them, but then he'd also be trying over and over to mez the tanks target which the group was DPS'ing.. and would sort of "toggle" between attacking that mob and doing his normal combat twist, and then breaking twist and mezzing the tank/MA's target.. it was very odd..

I couldnt tell what the cause was, but its been happening since I moved to kiss 12.. I havent had much more time to really look at it, and log and debug it, but its like he's getting his target ID's wrong..

maybe this weekend I'll get a chance to, and will see what ctaylor and the KA crew have to say.. Bards are probably the toughest class to automate due to their flip-flopping role and different rules with singing vs casting..

Meantime, the ginger nut is gonna get it..
 
@LorDeth If you could PM me a copy of a debug log of your bard. Also if your using MQ2Melee, you will have issues with mezzing. The Mez routine does not turn off MQ2Melee before trying to mez.

The Mez routine checks for combat and turns /attack off when mezzing, and reacquires the MA's target when leaving the mez routine.

Does this mean you can't use a bard to melee? If you don't use MQ2Melee, what would control his movement and attacking?
 
@Jalerian Kiss will control movement if you have UseMQ2Melee turned off. You can use a bard to melee using MQ2Melee, it just doesn't work if you use the Bard to Mez. There is so much you can do With MQ2Melee, That it makes it difficult to control the Bard when mezzing. MQ2Melee will not let you switch targets once you turn on attack(/Killthis) unless you turn off melee. It the point with mezzing is to keep it as fast as possible.

ahh i wonder if thats the issue.. funny though it wasnt really a problem with older versions of kiss...

So, just a matter of turning melee off in mq2melee and let kiss control everything? I still like using mq2melee for all the shits though.. looks like might be time to look at moving that over to react...

I'll try this first and see how it does.. then will start doing some debug logs if the issue persists.. havent had a chance quite yet though, RL stuff saturday busyness :)
