I tried last night to set up the in game audio trigger to make a sound when I get a tell. The only way I got it to work was in the pattern window to have : tells you, This works but it is also picking up enchanter / mage pets that also have that pattern of tells you, So its not working well if you get my drift. Any ideas, or is there an audio trigger already somewhere in someones KA ini or???

macroquest.ini has a BeepOnTells=1, unsure if you need Use tell windows checked or not

You should be able to turn off pet messages via the filter window no?

Also, you may be able to add a blank trigger with the pet name seeing as they never change, so add a trigger for "pet tells you", then in your trigger sound files folder create a blank file, and select that sound. Might help

Yeah unfortunately in the filter window you dont have the option to do anything with pet responses. I did find a few similar threads though when I posted this that talk about KA and an audio trigger but im wondering if its still going to do the same thing with my pet class peeps.

options - chat, pet responses ? what is the pet telling you that you don't want to see? Or hear rather, if its unimportant turn it off lol

yeah just use the MQ2.ini
maybe events: then use the (!) to exclude your name

I just simply want an audible alert if someone sends me or anyone in my group a /tell.

The enchanter pet: Javrartak tells you, "attacking a Woebot master" for example and that sets off the alarm. If you look in chat/pet responses you will see you dont have the option to the right of it to "hide" or "show".

yeah just use the MQ2.ini
Im not sure what exactly I am looking for in there and how to turn it on.... please, not the face!

I know this is not very helpful but I can say what you are looking for is doable.

I have "beep on tells" on, and it only goes off for tells, not pet responses. Same with EQBC's "/bccmd set tellwatch on", and for MQ2ChatEvent's incoming tell section.

I'm still thinking a blank file for the audio trigger will work. have the trigger set to "Javrartak tells you", but set the trigger sound to be an empty file, when it triggers it will just play nothing and you wont hear it and it should only pick up that tell from him, I don't play pet classes so I cant really be a hundered percent sure, but try it, in theory it should work.. I hope lol

In your Release directory there's a file called MacroQuest.ini
Find the line
Rich (BB code):
Beep on Tells=0
and change it to
Rich (BB code):
Beep on Tells=1
Or you can make it Flash your screen on tells... 0 is Off 1 is On
Rich (BB code):
TimeStampChat=0
BeepOnTells=0
FlashOnTells=0

Thanks. The /beepontell is too quiet and i dont hear it hardly. Ill try the mq one later.
