Various PL macros have been posted here for a while, and I'd like to get everyone's thoughts on power levelling. Let's share some ideas, strategies, and various strengths and weaknesses of the different classes.

I'll post the strat I use.

PLer: 70 druid
PLee: drakkin bard, now 50

From level 1-20, druid puts SOW, thorns (damage shield) and regen on PLee.
From 1-10 you might need smaller thorns so that bard has a chance to do damage before the mobs die to DS, or you get no XP. As soon as bard gets AE, he starts using it. Also, Drakkin get a bonus; do the breath weapon quest and you can do AE cone DD+DoT as well.

Once the mobs start taking a little longer to kill (level 7 to 10 maybe) you an start porcupining with your druid. Druid puts his self-only thorns and his highest level thorns on himself (can do something like 86 damage total), then heal the PLee, then sit in the middle of the mobs.

You can also use a damage-less root (clicky ornate legs are good for this) to root the mob in place. For anyone that doesn't know, if a mob is rooted, it will automatically attack the nearest target. As soon as your PLee has done at least 1 point of damage to the mob, sit in the middle of the mobs or root them then sit. Sitting is increased aggro AND it lowers your AC so that the mobs can actually hit your level 70 ass.

Crescent Reach will take you to 20 in a few hours of casual PLing this way.

After that, move to the Tizmak cave in Great Divide.

Once they go mostly light blue, move to the Cave Kodiacs to the south.

One those are mostly light blue or green, move to City of Mist until 50.

After 50, I dunno... that's where I'm stuck. If anyone has good advice for quick XP after 50 (I've already been told Veksar) please post it.

What other strategies have you used to get a toon to at least 50? What classes work well together (PLer and PLee)?

Bard works especially well for PLee because of their AE's, and druid works great for PLer because they have damage shield, heal, regen, SoW, root, snare, and HP buffs, although not as good as cleric HP buffs.

I just have the druid gather up a shit load of mobs and AE snare them repeatedly to build agro. Then I have the twink either cast an AE or cycle through on the melee. After that is done I cast thorns on the druid.

Wham Bam Thank Ya Ma'am

Imho the best place now is either dulak harbor lots of mobs low hp for ae method and or com .. com again lots of mobs low hps and ae method is king ..

then after 55 goto pov . pov was always pretty good exp . specially if ya gonna solo . druid oog healing and dsing bard should be easy can even chant kite ..

Your already lvl 50 so it's a little late, but next time here is a proven strat time and time again.
1-4 putz around your home city.
5-17, Thorn up and bard and melee/AE mobs in PC
18-40, yes, that's right 40 Sol A. Strat is different here, you pull about 10 gobs per time depending how much damage your druid can take and still live, pull them to an area where you can put your back to the wall. Keep casting AE snare and Healing yourself to build agro. Move in the baby Bard and AE the mobs one pulse, do it again a little bit later so you don't get agro on the bard(he will die quicker then you can heal him). At lvl 30ish, switch from goblins to gnomes. The gnomes hit alot harder so be careful.
Lvl 40-45 I did the same thing, but in Kaesora(hotzone right now, might want to go there at 35)
46+ The hard levels begin, I group the baby bard with the druid from here on, root rot, AE kite, Thorns and Heals, whatever method you use it get's hard here. Follow the hotzones though, the pirates in Timorous Deep are good exp at this level, and there is quite a few of them.
The pirates will get you all the way to lvl 60 pretty safely, but powerleveling this way usually ends at 55 and then you try and find groups if possible.

I did the DS method using my bard... only able to get 157 ds on my bard currently, have the cheaper potions available.

With my drakkin warrior it kicked ass..... free unlimited target ae ? hah, super pl'ing right there, bard gathered a mass of mobs, drakkin ae'd. Few random one's that didn't get hit I would run Hardone's hitallmobs.mac. That made sure all the mobs took at least 1 pt of damage.

Anyway,

1-24 far back in cresent reach - skeleton nokk's.... TONS of them. I had pulls of 20 to 40. Hit weak, die fast, no runners. Spawn super fast also.

24-33 Moonwhisper rats in blightfire moor's. Not social, not aggro, can pull from some plant things right next to rat spawn if you can kill all rats. Rat's run at last one , plant's don't.

after that I'm up in the air currently. I'm trying to find new place's to pl, not use old ones.

My warrior hit 55 with 36 aa's in less then 24 hours.
New mage Started last night, level 30 in 4 hours.

Anyway !! have fun killa's.

after 50 i go to a Kunark zone with my chanter and wizard, pull with snare wizard, bring 3/4 mobs, AE stun with chanter, AE nuke with wiz til 10/20% life, AE memblur with chanter, PLee hit all mobs either casting an AE spell either fighting them, and I do the last 10/20% with a DS on chanter cast chaining rune on him

I know it is not much, but for what it is worth. I made a baby necro drakkin. at 24 (solo) I got skinspike pots and temp. Got 3 levels in one temp in Nedarias Landing. Mobs grant 2-5% per kill. there are also several loot quests from these mobs from the NPC's standing at zone in. at least 4 hand in exp's. got her to 30 from 24 all in one evening with little down time. Going to try the forgotten halls next. I do not have a second acct so I have to solo alot =o( but after Kurn's Tower, this is one of my favorite zones for exp.

Luci

I used POV by entrance from 50 to 55, then start the hallways past the first door after and then to basement to 60. Is pretty easy and fast, but it has been a while. Not sure of the exp these days.

Always going to be 5,000 ways to Powerlevel and which zones to use, I personally liked this setup;

1-6 Starting City/Surrounding Area
7-12 Fiends in PC
12-25 Bandits in PC
25-40 Lower Guk (Undead Side) (Snare pull everything and DS druid)
40-50 Scarlet Desert (Snare pull everything and DS druid)

Once you get it down pat... This is 1-50 in less than 20 hours...
I suggest if you have some melee (monk, bard, rogue, ranger) with a shaman or druid(obv), then head to PoI and mass pull mobs and just burn them down until 55 (or do PoJ trials and go to PoV early and burn to 62 in about 2 days and then do Nest/Creator missions (Hive now also) until you hit 70 (or 75 now).

I like the Shaman method, goes real quick imo, use it all the time. Spirit of the puma.
Basically, you make a hot key, with /invite <twink name> cast then disband, mobs drop like flies.

I'm sure this has all been metioned, but I'll throw in my 3 cp about my PL methods...
First requires some advanced thought aquire a few of these
Holgresh Mojo Stick (Holgresh Air Wand) or Holgresh Mojo Stick (Holgresh Fire Wand)

Both of these are 5 charge PB AE and NOT LORE, this will give your PLee the secert to his success...

now, I use a lvl 70 Cleric, and lvl 70 Mage + my PLee, cleric and mage stay grouped... I start in PC near Shadeweavers Thicket, usually you need the PLee to pull cause the cleric is TOO high for prox agro, so Buff the Plee, and hot him, send him out for a few mobs as much as you can pull... run back to the cleric, cleric Fast heals to build agro once cleric has agro (which should be one or 2 heals... ,Pl clicks wand and Mage cast DS on cleric.... Boom 30+ mobs dead, move though PC with in an hour or 2 depending on pulls, you'll be 20... DONT even worry about the bandit camps, stop at 20 with the phologs...

Move to Mistmoore Castle, Cleric pulls as much as he can handle keep cast fast heals for agro, Pl clicks wand Mage DS... 2 hrs lvl 35... Move to CoM rinse/repeat till 46(46 is Key you can now group with up to 70). Now I kinda use the same idea, but cleric pulls, to mage (who is grouped with Plee) mage drops Wind of the Desert which is a 150+ PBAE he'll take some agro which is good cause you need Fluffy to Help now just keep the mage alive while he AE's and Fluffy finishs off the trash...this will take you to 55ish. then I just put the PLee in my group and head to my fav Exp zone, like WoS, Ruins, Nobles, where ever he can get in...lvl 70 toon in less then 24 hrs played (this does not include time to buy spells, work up skills and gather gear

For lower 50's luggalds in the back of gunthark harbor... in the temple by the nadox zoneline. Safe short run if something goes wrong and lots of mobs either pull the whole room or a couple. Plus is the nice corner right by the zoneline to back into and not worry about move spell failure. Worked good as a drood but really fast as a bard doing the PL.

If you're powerleveling a caster there is no better way than bard + CoM. If you take a necro for example with their -200 resist lifetap at level 1. Bard pulls 4-5 at a time with a 170pt dmg shield running. Necro taps each mob once. Mobs in CoM do not run.

I was getting 10% xp a kill up to around 40 (starting at level 23). It slowed downa bit but not much after 40. You can get from mid-low twenties to 50 in a very very few short hours this way. From 23-40 ... took maybe 2ish hours tops as I was killing about 5 mobs a minute (at 10% each). 40-50 takes a bit longer, but it's still good. Once you hit a level where you can gleen xp off a grouped person 70+, just slaughter em old fashioned way. Should be green to the highbie and dark blue to the lowbie.

What is CoM? I know it seems like a stupid question, but I havn't gotten all of the Abv.s yet. Also, what is a FD?

City of Mist off Emerald Jungle. Pretty sure it's still a hot zone (not positive). The zone is full of easy pull undead ranging from lv 33ish to 45ish.

what is the best way to pull with a bard, or get aggro (lvl40ish) without causing damage. I already have a few zones in mind that don't run, but what are some good ones for all lvls. Once again, sorry for the stupid questions. I have never had a very high lvl char. This bard is my highest, and I'm new to powerleveling, both on the recieving end and on the giving end. I mostly soloed, but lately i'm 2 boxin. Tired of not finding any groups my lvl.

Lv 40 is not nearly high enough to powerlevel with in CoM. Single mobs would probably eat you alive. You'll need a 70+ bard with decent gear to make this kind of sustainable PL possible.

that is why i am considering pling in other places and letting it take alittle longer. Using it as in redbot's guide...i don't know how to post url's or I would. Just wanted to get a cleric up close enough to my lvl to group with.

Have you looked into afk bard kiting? I've leveled up more than one bard this way ... just find a nice spot with low player traffic and circle circle twisty xp

i have done some of this. it makes me alittle nervous cuz everytime i get up to go pee or make some pizza someone either shows up and starts watching me, or some glitch makes me die. Where would you suggest I kite at and how many lvls above my bard. I tried one place once. I think they were like 10lvls or something above me, and all i did was piss them off, they resisted all my songs. I have never been good at kiting without the mq2 macro. I found one the other day that I really like. but basically circle twisty. without AEs working though, it is really slow going as i can only kill one at a time. any advice for that too. I'm sorry if this is all the wrong place to post this stuff, but in game advice is hard to come by alot of the times.

the best Pl method i have to date lvl 45+ since mobs in the hot zones seem to have a bit of hp, is i use a 75 monk/70 druid to PL my what is now 59 warrior with 57 aa.. who was 50 a week ago... simple process pull on monk i have macro running ond ruid to heal monk or warrior if hp reaches 50%, i have macro running on warrior to assist my monk when im in x range and return to leashed spot when mob is dead. i just go pull with monk kill mobs to 5-10% hit fd if its succesful stand up go get another mob rinse repeate, 10-15% aa per kill at the bottom of the hole level pending... and 2.3-4% reg xp per kill in the same spot the mobs die very fast hit like wussies, same idea can be used for a caster, only fd away from the caster to break agro stand back up and agro mob on monk, but dont dmg it and let the caster finish it off with a well timed nuke that works the same i have a 49 chanter i do it with

I was in Stoneroot Falls camping the guy who drops the evolving sword(forgot the name). I had my 70 paladin, 70 ranger and 51 cleric grouped doing this. Mobs died pretty quick and cleric was getting some decent exp while grouped.

Other than that, I will usually group the 46+ toon with my 70 paladin or 70 ranger and just slaughter a lower level zone to level them.

Want to powerlevel? Take the level 1 toon to city of mist. I use a 75 chanter 75 shammy and 75 mage. Chanter uses fire elemental illusion with ds from the mage (I think I had around 110 ds). Shammy pulls 5 at a time (shammy has great agro because they get nasty faction in CoM from there 1.0 epic. Shammy brings back 5 mobs, and chanter AE tashes to get agro. The N00B then ae's the weakest ae spell or melee uses throw stone with HitAllMobs.mac found here on redguides (can also shroud to use throw stone and hitallmobs.mac with any class so dont need an ae caster).

If you pull more than 5 or use a higher ds will miss some xp because of the refresh (10 seconds) on throw stone. While the first wave is dying on the ds go grab five more with shammy (no ds or weapon in hand of shammy). Just keep going. When you hit around lvl 50 move to veksar and repeat. Rune and spot heal as needed with shammy.

Here are my results, I waisted about 2 hours here in bazaar, and just goofing off, I am sure I can hit lvl 60 in under 7 hours.
