Various PL macros have been posted here for a while, and I'd like to get everyone's thoughts on power levelling. Let's share some ideas, strategies, and various strengths and weaknesses of the different classes.
I'll post the strat I use.
PLer: 70 druid
PLee: drakkin bard, now 50
From level 1-20, druid puts SOW, thorns (damage shield) and regen on PLee.
From 1-10 you might need smaller thorns so that bard has a chance to do damage before the mobs die to DS, or you get no XP. As soon as bard gets AE, he starts using it. Also, Drakkin get a bonus; do the breath weapon quest and you can do AE cone DD+DoT as well.
Once the mobs start taking a little longer to kill (level 7 to 10 maybe) you an start porcupining with your druid. Druid puts his self-only thorns and his highest level thorns on himself (can do something like 86 damage total), then heal the PLee, then sit in the middle of the mobs.
You can also use a damage-less root (clicky ornate legs are good for this) to root the mob in place. For anyone that doesn't know, if a mob is rooted, it will automatically attack the nearest target. As soon as your PLee has done at least 1 point of damage to the mob, sit in the middle of the mobs or root them then sit. Sitting is increased aggro AND it lowers your AC so that the mobs can actually hit your level 70 ass.
Crescent Reach will take you to 20 in a few hours of casual PLing this way.
After that, move to the Tizmak cave in Great Divide.
Once they go mostly light blue, move to the Cave Kodiacs to the south.
One those are mostly light blue or green, move to City of Mist until 50.
After 50, I dunno... that's where I'm stuck. If anyone has good advice for quick XP after 50 (I've already been told Veksar) please post it.
What other strategies have you used to get a toon to at least 50? What classes work well together (PLer and PLee)?
Bard works especially well for PLee because of their AE's, and druid works great for PLer because they have damage shield, heal, regen, SoW, root, snare, and HP buffs, although not as good as cleric HP buffs.
