Discussion - Anyone have a list of chat filters on/off for EqLogParser?

Im starting to think my log is being bloated with a bunch of unnecessary chat and it is starting to hurt my performance. Would love to keep my log parser on during raids to DPS parse but I’m thinking of just turning off due to my lagging.

Have anyone put together or found a list of chat filter options that can be turned off?

Also, how does logparser pick up raid triggers without the log on? I was going to test tonight myself but heard log can be off but triggers will still work.

Lastly, I have do all of fanra’s performance adjustments to help with my raid lag but it is still hard to cast and move around as necessary with my level of lag. I only have lag like this during raids. I do also have a lot of chat filters off and moved to my spam tab but I’m sure there is a lot more I could do. (But still be able to accurately parse the raid and other’s damage).

You can go in and delete logs, but they shouldnt be impacting performance, unless you have a TON (gigs and gigs). Also, EQLP can delete them for you if you dont want to bother (its a setting).

EQLP cant pickup what isnt in chat. ALL chat, so if you dont care about the parse, turn off all but *event* messages (was added/tweaked 2 yesrs ago for this reason).

DONT MINIMIZE A ACTIVE/REPORTING CHAT WINDOW!!!. for some reason (smart folks can explain..), it kills your performance. Just hide the window out of your view.

Yeah I delete my logs before every raid but the files are usually 400,000kb or so each time.

I also don’t minimize my spam window but I do have it on a tab that isn’t active… does that count as minimizing?

400k isnt much at all, unless your using a laptop with a *green* spinner HD (5400 rmp, plus power saving = write speed suxxors).
Empty window shouldnt matter, do you have your graphics set for raiding? people raid settings are different from boxes (boxes dont need visual anything).

Only using a single client for raiding and don’t have a super laptop but it should work fine.

I have the recommended particle effects on which are decently high so I can see auras, etc. I guess I could drop graphics to very low (currently low I think) or turn on stick figures… but that isn’t fun.

Any specific things you change for raids? Which is why I think it is my chat filters and/or log file.

I do box older raids with 12-18 toons (of switch I’m running 6) and don’t have any lag issues.

Only during 54 man raids is it really any issue.
