Release Anniversary Tower Missions: Full Automation 1.29

I couldn't get this to run the newest mission.
I haven't had a second to test this since it went to live. Sometimes they make changes from when I do it on Test server. Should have a moment to do so later this morning (few hours from now).
If there was any specific issues you could call out, may help - depending on what I see.

Is there a good spot to put a /boxr unpause when you zone into a mission?
There can definitely be something like that - settings or whatever.

notes on running key of swamps first time, i left the tower, went to the translocator in south ro, and immediately went to swim across tim deep, something that takes about 15 mins if you're a slow swimmer (maybe second brand as swimmming skill ups), then to FV (quite a run). A quicker process might be using throne or gating, going to Freeport and popping up to POK and back down to cabalis or overthere/FV. There's also guildhall clickies, not sure how much you'd want to mess with that one.

Is there a proper step by step of how you're supposed to do this with a group somewhere? I seem to have issues everytime I run a key quest with this thing. Am i supposed to run it one at a time or as a group?

Edit: Also, this is probably a mesh/easyfind issue, but i couldnt get out of the door when i went to leave this floor

also side note, plugins aren't unpausing for me at the begining of mission, went into mission with 125 paladin and just stood there and died

From trial and error on my part. I run the "outside the Tower part" totally on manual. Both traveling to, and then the looting part. I have turned the Lua back on, or started it up for the key combines. I have just found it to be easier to run it as a group that way.

As far as the pausing/unpausing thing goes, I have developed a routine I use. First I tell my tank (driver) to go get the mission (have my keys on the keychain) so he runs down all the stairs and to avoid the inevitable head bounce I switch over my veiw to another toon. Then I look for the mage to CoTH, both in the MQ2 chat window and by the casting of a spell. Then (and this is the key part) I put the Lua on PAUSE after the CoTH is complete, (the Lua not the toons) and let them do their buff thing (by taking the Boxr Pause off). This ensures that Boxr Pause is off BEFORE I go into the mission. Then I take the LAU Pause off and let them zone into the mission. Now just the way my PC works or whatever the reason, my driver usually zones in before the other 5, so the Lua is supposed to pause the Lua and it usually spits out a line about Not all characters are in the zone yet. Pausing. Or something similar to that. However on a couple of missions it does not do that so I manually pause the Lua to wait for the rest of the group to zone in, and then turn it back on (or unpause in this case). Now if you wait to long to unpause it can screw up the mission. And I haven't found a way to get it back on track so it can be completed. So I just zone back out (the group) and go to the next one, while cussing myself out for screwing it up. It's like anything else with this game and this software. Sometimes it works flawlessly and sometimes it doesn't. I try not to be too hard on myself, even though it's usually because of something I did wrong. But I have found that once you do do something enough times it does get better.

Anyways that is how I run Tower missions. Hopefully this helps or gives you ideas on how you should do it.

I dont expect it to be flawless, I just want to know if Im doing something wrong so i dont keep doing it.
 
I didn't turn in the keys on my latest group so I don't run downstairs, I leave automation running, thankfully no issues there. Sorry, not very helpful with that, but...

As far as doing key quests as a group I shared my experiences if you go back a page. Definitely requires a little more attention than just letting one dude run the whole thing alone, but this script most definitely saved me time and effort doing so!
 
Ran a new character for Key 1 last night. From PoK, they ran the long way ( Everfrost to the Magus to Nro). A check for Zueria Slide will immediately get you there with a /relocate nro. Plus that Slide is no downtime. If no Slide on character, heading to the Lobby Magus would be quicker than the Everfrost run. I was playing with a MQ2Bard, so it wasn't bad for bardly, but for the enc it was molasses speed.

You can run these solo or as a group. However ONLY the character running the script will be going after the goals. Looting, clicking, hailing - only the character with the script does all that.

With little exception, all we do is "/travelto {zone}". Much more becomes a huge feature all on it's own out of scope for this project at this time.
For this reason, the script adds a button that always shows the last "/travelto" destination. That way you can Gate or Port or whever - and re-initiate that:

@GoldenFrog. For the new key. Slide to dreadlands seems faster to get to the swamp of no hope.
 
All info here was me manually doing keying a day after it went live:

FYI - For the Swamps key, I had my two groups in raid form as I usually do and worked on the key. The entire raid got credit for killing the Broodmothers and got the key pieces on their cursors. However, the second group in my raid did not get credit for the killing of the objects that pop out the leaches. I just had to go back and manually kill 6 more objects with the 2nd group to get those keys finished.

For all the keys thus far, it was pretty easy to do these in raid form.

This is Not a Trouble Ticket request, just an Anecdote:
One of the strangest things happened only once to me out of the many times I have run this where my Enchanter (CWTN) somehow charmed the Boss in Steam while I was still killing the little guys for the items to turn in. At that point nothing I did was able to pull a win out of that. /shrug

Note on Traveling (/travelto)


Adding logic to traveling can get tricky quickly. So many variations of character items/abilities, starting zone, ending zone, and everything inbetween.

Also keep in mind if character is in a group, not all may have same capabilities - requiring logic to instruct everyone "Get there however you can", with arguably potentially messier outcomes

/relocate is an awesome function - but ideally we'd know if that would succeed (does user have specific item and available) or parse text output to see if there's an error.

As such, at present the only two options that exist in this script are as follows.

  • Destination: Tower
    • If Zueria Slide or Northern Desert Outlook Device avail and ready, will use
    • If Zueria Slide is in keyring and NOT set to Nro, does not use as it can't be converted there.
  • Starting Key Task and Destination: Anywhere (except nro/sro/tower)
    • Uses AA Gate if available and option above selected

Is there a command line to run the missions?
Well jeez - check the features and see it's already there! (in response to your question, of course)

Never thought useful - so threw a quick one on in response to your question.

Let me know if it does what you want or have requests.
 
Doing some mission runs on some toons to get flagged for the keys, and ran into this error doing the first key quest. Background info: this toon already is flagged for the key, just gettign a second set to request the mission without having to run down every time. I had just finished killing the first orc, and then killed the hill giant on the second step when the error occurred. I am running lootly, so let me know if that needs to be turned off if it interferes.

I then restarted the script after disabling lootly, in case it was causing problems, and got the following error once I killed the spectre

I did end up restarting the script again, and it was having problems because the first item slot was taken up by one of the other keys. I ended up stopping the script, taking all of the other containers that had ended up being placed into the top level container, and moving them to other packs and emptying that top level slot, and it finally finished running. I am thinking the error may have been because it was trying to open the key container to place the items there, and couldnt do so as I had the wrong key container in a top level slot.
 
Further details: Onto the second key run, sitting in the bottom floor of the tower, started the script again, after makign sure slot 1 was empty to place the key container into. The task was already active as it had been started earlier, so I clicked run, and got the following error. On the first run, I had that one task plus the other 3 or 4 key tasks selected to run them in hopefully one fell swoop, but got an error. So I only selected the Lava key to run, and still got the same error.

yep, at least the first 3 keep halting with error and have to keep restarting them.

All missions are broken now for me. Got Sand key after multiple restarts but then all broken now starting with key of Lava will not run and crashes every time . >( very frustrating as I don't see why it just started to fail as it was running great. got the following error. tried them all 1 at a time and all fail with same error. i am using CWTN with my toons too.

Sorry about the delay fixing. I was posting it at the same time you asked this. Durango is correct with any released script you can always go back.

I have updated things to correct that crash - sorry about the issue. Not sure how it go through my "quality assurance" team.

Additional note - not ideal, but for all of these you can always restart the script - click [Run] on the mission or key quest, and it should pick up exactly where it left off.
 
ok weird but just goes to door then back to quester and ask for tasks that i already have then sits there. sorry.
it was working i thought but it is crashing again. works somewhat on one system and not on other due to frost key? deleted the key then reran and it somewhat worked. But soon as I hit run lava key, it crashes LOL
note I am running it from inside the tower on first floor.

Not sure what is happening but I run this on one computer and it works but my main system it fails. Removed the folder and reinstalled and it still fails. Is there somewhere else the data is pulling from that could cause it to fail? Is not deleting and reinstalling it not load up all parts for this Lua? Any help would be appreciated. It's obviously not the Lua but something it's pulling data from that is causing it to fail now. Thanks,
 
You might have to delete the config file then let the script re-create it. I had to do this with a few toons that were having issues. The config should be located at:

\config\missions_anniversarytower_ToonName.ini

I wasnt sure either, but deleting the config file did allow some of my toons to do their key quests successfully. You can also read back a few posts, and there is a spot where you can download a previous version, that might work better. I downloaded a version from a week ago, but have not yet tested running that version versus the current version. I inserted the link below.

As you guys have said, there's actually very little in that config - if deleting the config and starting over fixes things

...it would help if one of the older INI files could be forwarded to me to take a look. I'm not running these scripts very often - don't need to. Except when problems reported.

Let me get on and do some testing, and I will try to get you some information. Those were the crashes I posted before while re-doing the key quests on one toon so he could have a set of keys in the pack for mission requests.

I know for a while it seemed the toons would start a floor mission, zone in and then zone right back out. I would get the 1 hour request timer, but not the 3 hour mission completed timer for those. That happened on about 3 of the 9 floors. I will see if I can duplicate the issue. I normally run the missions with a full group, driver being the tank that gets the quest and leads.
 
Just an update - the latest floor "Fear", both the mission and the key quest seem buggy to me. Have a script - but even running manually they both bug out at various times.

Additionally, will be running all key and missions - to verify if things work or not given previous reports (above) and new patch note changes.
