So, maybe I'm just an idiot (complete possibility) but I feel like its really hard to box this guy: http://eok.eqresource.com/ancientwhitehornguardianofthestampede.php

For those that don't know, the Ancient Whitehorn runs between 5 spots and he has fastest move speed and can't be snared. He also regens to 100% after like 5 seconds without taking damage. I have an SK, CLR, ENC, 3X Wizzies but was having trouble stopping him from regenerating his HP running between spots. A large problem is my KA macros would have to be modified for this. Anyone have any experience boxing this guy, or even switching between tabs manually? I was thinking maybe using Maskoi's WizBlaster macro which just sits there and runs through your nukes and then have my SK sit in the middle with a bow auto-firing.

Will he regen if he's taking small amounts of damage? Does he strip detrimental spells when he moves? If not get a few DoT chars like a necro and load his ass up with Dots.

I think he still regens even with DOT's. I had my enchanter slap a few on him but he still regenerated through them back to 100%.

Need to sit a toon at each spot (they're all free of extra agro), and when he gets there, swap over to them and melee/arrow/something. Even if you're a wizard, have him melee while you nuke his ass, too.

It's not HARD to box, but it is pretty tedious.

Frankly, I'd rather see a write-up on how to box the stupid grove guardian ancient event. I haven't tried it, yet, but there must be a reason that that's NEVER done.

It's impossible to box the grove guardian event. You need to kill all the ancient within an hour. This was completed on Vox twice as a joint event. Proud owner of 4 mansi branches.

I'd agree it's unlikely that a single group could or would box this event - the times I've completed it was with multiple groups - the key to beating this event in the 1 hour time limit is to control the individual events. Since each of the 6 events requires a varying number of actions to trigger, the groups preset all of the events. For example the Ancient Broodmother takes 30 kills - work the kill count down to 28/29 and than move on. The hardest event to trigger is Ancient Pinepeak, Guardian of the Thicket. Collecting the rune stones ahead of time allows you to focus on giving them to grove guardians. Again you pass out some in the set up step. Finally, you pick a place to start - finish the needed kills to trigger and move on. Unless you have an abundance of toons don't bother with the ancients, as you only need to trigger them for the reward. Save Ancient Pinepeak for last. That way you have all of your resources free to stop Syldon couriers. The biggest problem with this is "outsiders" that happen to be killing the mobs needed to trigger a spawn, and triggering it early. Although, if you lack numbers this could be helpful since everyone in zone gets the reward we've had good luck with cooperation from others if we made it clear what was happening. The other approach is to capture a pick zone during peak hours and holding it till it's cleared so you can have better control of the kills. Without interference it would be possible to trigger all 6 in an hour with a single group as long as you can handle stopping the Syldon couriers.

Good luck!

I was specifically talking about the Syldon courier event. I already have the strategy down for queuing up all the events to spawn the ancients quickly, so that's not an issue. I have never tried to box the courier event. Right now that's the x-factor for me.

My understanding is for the achievement (what you're talking about, not the grove guardian event) you only need to see the 6 ancients spawn in one hour, not kill them. Did they change it to kill all 6 ancients in an hour?

And speaking of this achievement, is the strategy just to kill/gather the pre-reqs for each ancient and then just quickly kill the last few mobs/items for each one to spawn it?

No to the first question
Yes to the second question

Key if you're doing yourself is to queue it up. My strategy was going to be to run around and do most of the pre-kills to spawn the various ancient mobs, but leave 1-2 kills to go. Then I was doing to do the Syldon courier event to get the 1 hour ultra-awesome buff on me. Then run around and do the last kills to spawn all the ancients (not necessarily kill them).

Yes spawn not kill.

Split you six toons, hire mercs, post a toon and merc at each spot, hotkey or macro an attack scenario for Whitehorn. You can do the whole thing with EQBC commands from a single toon....
Where I lack in skill or gear i make up for in numbers.
When General Nathan Bedford Forrest, considered one of the finest tacticians in the Civil War, was asked about his winning tactics, "Get there first with the most men." was his eloquent reply.
