Attached are two files to get you started using advanced loot. Save both files to your everquest/userdata folder (/Daybreak Game Company/Installed Games/Everquest/userdata)

Please note that these loot filters are my own personal preference to always loot, always roll, and to always leave (but still roll in case someone else wants the item). You may not want the items I have, or you may want some items I do not. Please look through the files to see what you may want to change.

Change the servername to match the server you play on. Example: LF_AN_Madman_luclin.ini

In game type /advloot and click "Edit Filters" on the bottom left.

Click the "Merge / Replace Filters" button in the top left.

Find "Madman_servername" and select it and click either "Merge" or "Replace". I typically use merge, even on a brand new toon. I believe that if you use merge and there is a conflict, it will bring up a window and ask you what to do.

Who ever has the best loot filters should be the Master Looter. The leader of the group is the Master Looter by default.

Optional step: Click "Edit Filters" on the Loot window and see what is in there. If you found something in your file that you want to change, search for it in this window and make the changes.

The options in the edit filters window are:
AN=Always Need
AG=Always Greed
NV=Never (as in never need/want and it will leave it on the corpse)
?/DICE=Roll on this item (so that whoever has it on ND (Need) or AN or GD (greed) or AG will roll for it)
REMOVE=Remove it from the filters so that the next time it pops up it will ask you what to do (including rolling)

Under "Loot Settings" you can select your options for the Master Looter.

These are pretty self explanatory. Auto-Loot means that you'll auto-loot whatever is given to you. This way you can give gear to other toons without flipping over to check the green box that says "Yes, I'll loot this".

Here is another image that will hopefully explain what all the boxes are for the master looter:

Let me know if I missed anything and I'll update this!

Will give this a go again for a few days. Much appreciate the heads up and help =)

Added this image to the post for some more clarity for the master looter:

Also if you don't want to wait for the corpse cooldown before someone not in the kill can loot it you need to 1st select FREE GRAB and then LEAVE ON CORPSE!

- - - Updated - - -

Also ALL items on the corpse need to be released in this manner before it actually unlocks the corpse.

I've never done free grab then leave on corpse. Just leave and usually they can take it. I wonder if they changed it for either one of us? I know I just did this yesterday with an out of group person about 1 minute after the mob was dead.

I thought the "Auto Loot All" box was for looting all of your personal loot (stuff either assigned to you or you won on a roll)? Course it mighta changed, thought I would ask =)

Is there a way in advloot that if an item is NOT listed anywhere, it defaults to always greed?

This tip has been greatly helpful btw!

Auto looting rare no drop items

I know I read somewhere that someone had a solution for this months ago but I just can't seem to find it. I am working on my monks epic and need all the super rare drops, Raster and the pipes from chardok/KC. I would like to set up my bots there and farm them but the drops won't get looted because they haven't been selected need or greed, and they don't show up in the edit ini list until you have selected something in the advanced looting window. Is there an ini file that I can go in and add the drops I want and then not have to worry about it? I have searched but haven't had any luck at all.

Thanks in advance!

ADVLoot Template
ADLoot rares

You will need to do a little research to get the So itemID^iconID^itemName, then add them to the appropriate files described (example c:/Everquest/userdata/LF_AN_SomeToonName_SomeServerName.ini)

you will note they have made an INI per button on the ADVLoot window (/boggle) I imagine the file you will be interested in are the LF_AN and LF_Rnd , so your guy will mark is always need and random it when the item pops up.

Re: Auto looting rare no drop items

Wouldn't you also need to change yr default to not prompt when looting no drop items?

Re: Auto looting rare no drop items

I was starting to look at this, as well, so thanks to everyone for the great advice.

not that I know of Rusty. However I did notice that if you have Auto Loot All checked, you will autoloot EVERYTHING when you are solo/molo, even the stuff that you have listed as NV

Patch notes say they are adding "FREE GRAB ALWAYS" as an option!

LOOT ALL and MASTER looter you grab it all, LOOT ALL and not MASTER you will leave anything not checked... NEVER rely on just advloot, I am telling you I cant count how many rares I ended up on my ninja looted that doublechecks my drops!

Yea I had issues with advloot until I made a few adjustments to KA and the NAL include file. Nothing gets left behind and I have seen times when an item has not been looted, but after checking all characters in group they all had the item on them, so wasn't an issue.

I still let ninjadvloot handle all my looting and just use a master looter that refers to loot.ini for everything. Makes it much simpler.

This allows each character to have separate loot parameters which NAL cannot do since it is a global file.

normally i manually distribute loot but i want to create filters so i dont have to do loot anymore

i go to magelo to see what the mob drops and to get its item id. then i search that item on lucy to get the icon id. is there any easier way to do this?

im big on collecting everything that drops to get every penny outa the vendor. which means a camp can have 50 items that i want to loot and looking up the item/icon ids can become a lot of work. especially since each camp is different and would require its own loot list. am i doing this wrong or is this just the necessary prep work that goes into fully automating loot?

hello first off i would like to say wow love what yall are doing :) First time useer here. When i try to save this file to the folder its saying "i dont have permission to save it here" i am trying to save it in userdata folder . Thanks for what yall do :)
