I run this on 2 computers PLing some toons - I found it was good to edit my piggyzone so that I didn't pop in on top of myself (or anyone else).

Makes it less obvious.

I'll add that into the dev notes. Great idea ....

I think the macro is pretty solid now just need to make it less obvious ...

Yeah I always change the default in the piggyzone.ini for the zone im using to start to some obscure location.

Would it be wiser to just use the runmac for this instead of warping. And would running it finish and get back to Marana before the tasktimer resets?

I like to do other things in between tasks...I never use this fully afk so the extra time is spent xping.

have not run tasks in a very long time so decided to with another toon at 62. Only probs I am having with Runner is on lookout below and mystic ring. Coming back thru the caves after going to druid circle or tele spires, he gets caught running into the cave wall and will not go anywhere. Only way to stop it is to end macro and manual run to last point of task.

Does anyone have an opinion on optimizing xp from these tasks when shrouding down? Do higher level tasks give more xp (ie. should one shroud down to the highest possible level)? If there is an optimum, is it the same for AAs as for xp? If xp is the same between different levels, taking the greater plat on the higher level task is the obvious choice; I'm just not sure if xp is the same.

I've mostly done "70 shrouded to 65" tasks for AAs, but I'm working up an alt that's currently at 54. Would like to make sure I'm being as efficient as possible.

I have been building toons from level 15 up with this. The best experiance comes from running the tasks "Unshrouded" if you have the skills nessecery to keep you alive. IE Hide, sneak or a way to invis. But....there are no level 70 tasks, sooo you do have to shroud to 65 in order to work AA's the other good thing about shrouds though is that you see all your exp at once and get that big EXP boner for multiple dings heheh.

I'm still having timer issues again, and I believe that it's from getting the same task over and over. Is there a way I can enter some sort of check so it does not choose the same tasks (Mystic Ring, Giant Expedition, etc.) over and over?

I don't understand how you can be getting this error. Are you useing mq2melee with autohide turned on?

what your telling me. Or at least what I think your telling me is that you get a messae in yellow (bright yellow not the dull yellow MQ2 talks in) that say you cannot have another task of this type for 16 or more minutes? Can you confirm this before I try to wrap my brain around this problem?

Better yet I see you online can you come to the chat room (the link to get in is in the top right hand corner of this page. Next to log out)

mine is 0d:0h:0m in yellow in the main chat window, what i dont understand is it was working fine then out of no where it started acting like this again, if i can be so bold change it from 15 min wait to 1 min on Getting New Task the timer seems to be working just certin tasks are longer it seems but up to you guys i wont mess with the timer code

I noticed that on mine, I run EQ with onboard video atm(yeah I know) and it takes a VERY long time to zone. First run i did a day or so ago took 17 minutes, fine...it still sat there for about 10 minutes before getting a new task....Yes I know I could have started it over as I was watching it, but I wanted to see what it would do.

ok i guess i should ask this, is the timer based on our computer time or is it based on the server time? I know its a stupid question but seems when our hard drives work the clock doesnt get refreshed untill they stop (loading times), its the only thing i can come up with.

EDIT:
ok i decided to add a /delay 1m line in the Stop_Lockout_Activities, from what i can tell the timer trap doesnt take seconds into account, but i dont know for sure. Since i added the line i havent had any trouble with the timer, but i havent gotten a Giant Exp. task yet so we will see

It is based off of the macro runtime which is based off of local cpu time. Thus server time can be off by a little bit. I am in South Korea so I figured that I would have to worst lag, but obviously I do not.

well since i added the 1m delay i havent had any problems. Ill show you what i did...

sub Stop_Lockout_Activities

/delay 1m

I need a bit of help getting it started.

I go to task giver shrouded as 45 rogue

Start Mac

I hail get a list of tasks it cycles through them dosent pick one then waits

gets next list scrolls through them and doesnt pick one

Over and Over again...

I have tried in DL and Overthere

What am I missing?

...this is just insane for me. I've been working with this now for some time. I am repeatedly getting +40 minute lockout timers!! WTH is going on...

All of my settings are set as being suggested. I've used other people's settings and files, and I still repeatedly get this issue.

I am using the advtaskwarp2 macro, is there possibly some sort of check to see how fast they are completed to add more time to the lockout timer? These long timers are from the NPC (the bright yellow text); they're not the MQ2 text/timer. I am a lvl 70 that is shrouding to a 65, and I'm running them from DL.

Maybe I should just switch to the AdvTaskRunner macro...I'm lost /shrug

Does your AdvTaskWarp.ini look like this? Remember, if you want to accept certain tasks, make sure they are =1 and if not then make sure they are =0.

Got it? PM me if you have questions.

at 45 I had a hard time getting tasks too, I just changed the macro to try 150 times if noone was in the zone.

JakeSpeed, in your PM you mentioned that you are using the AdvTaskRunner2? Currently there are only 4 AdvTaskRunner tasks, and they are for level 65:

Giant Expedition
Mystic Ring
Lookout Below
Scary Caves

What you can do is make your own advpath files and add new tasks to the runner.inc

...there's definitely an increase in timers for a lvl 70 shrouded to a 65 in DL. I can't confirm this for any other levels or any other locations, but while it's not consistent, I get 45 minute timers AFTER completing the task and waiting the 15 minutes. So there's a few possibilities, one of them being that certain tasks have increased timers which could be determined by Short / Medium / Long time lengths, or the tasks themselves, etc. I'm pretty busy in RL and don't have alot of time available to troubleshoot or experiment unfortunately.

I think alot of people have obviously not continued with Tasking, but this just makes it totally not worthwhile for the few that continue...

*Edit* I wanted to include that I've added delays in all of the tasks that I run, thinking that their might be some sort of flag present if a task is completed too quickly. I've added a few 2 minute delays in safer areas (such as Frontier Mnts, Dreadlands, Firiona V, etc.) so I would complete a task in about 10+ minutes, instead of 3-4 minutes. However, I still recieved these extended timers.

Sooo odd, I am runnin a level 65 toon and stopped her from progressing to accumalate much needed AA's. I don't have a level 70 toon anylonger or I would check this out. However I do know of some folks that are runninglevel 70 toons in advtaskwarp2 and never seem to have anyproblems. At least not that they have voiced to me. There are a few of us on my server that task. I have tasked the other toon I am working on from 20 to level 62 so far and never (that's NEVER) seen a tasks wait timer grow over the original 15 minutes from the accepting of the task. It possibly could change when I hit 70 I guess , I guess I will find out ina week or so when I get there. Unless someone can confirm this for me off my server (you know who you are)

With this not being a problem for most people, I'm not sure how much you will care, but atm I am running on board video and its zones me slow as hell. 24 min avg to complete a task.

However when it does take that long and I finally get back to DL, I get a message in the MQ2 chatwnd saying you mustbe in DL to continue this macro....The current macro has ended.

Is there anyway I can change the logic to take into account slow zoning time cause I think what its doing is somewhere in the final CHainzone its trying to continue running and that generates the error.

I totally appreciate your input and concern on it, but there is DEFINITELY an issue with timers increased on my server for a lvl70 shrouded to a 65, running tasks in DL.

I continuously (even as I write this) get this problem with the Task timers.

I'll test the 70 shroud to 65 when I get off work tonight.

Cheesymac - are you doing the tasks that zone you to seb, emerald jungle, and trakanon's teeth? In the 50s it's pretty bad for zoning. I turned all excess graphics settings off (player modles, textures, etc) and put the far clip plane to 0. Once you get into the 65 tasks, you don't really ever have to zone anywhere but Karnors, DL, FM, and FV. I found that the 65 tasks run smoothly and I have left my computer running for 2 days doing the lvl 65 tasks with minimal slowdown.

I'd recommend rebooting your computer every now and then, for some reason, zoning a lot makes EQ lag (for me). I found the worst to be going to any zones near Emerald Jungle and Trak's teeth.

Its not the long time I mind, its the only way I can level atm until I can find the money for a new video card, I just want to fix the logic so I can run this properly.

oh, I have everything turned down, I keep EQ minimized when im running(speeds it up IMO) im level 56 so I dont really have much of a choice atm on which ones I can do.

I'm a lvl70 that shrouds down to 65. I haven't had any problems, other than it hanging twice. Not sure what happend really, just stopped, middle task.

I'm starting to have problems with the warp one myself. It'll run ok for a while, but then it'll send me to pok, and either go to server select or crash to desktop. Have not figured it out yet.

That happens when MQ2PiggyZone gets lost or you are bound in PoK and it has identified that gating you would be efficient when actually it isn't.

What I did was bind myself to a different Zone that was out of the way or in my path, like FV.

I was having problems with the runner mac not picking up events, either because of misspellings, or absence of /doevents, here is the code that works for me

No problem, I'm going to change mine up a bit though. I'm going to add one warp into it. The warp from the tunnels over to the FV zone line. Getting like 25 min runner time, with hiderun on and no sneak. So I'm going to add that one warp in, hopefully to shave off a good 8 mins.

If you're willing to throw in a warp, consider a /zone to just inside FV from the DL zone line. Probably fits in nicely with the rest of the code stream.

I've ended up making it really modular. Lots of small pieces to that are interusable. Makes for more coding, but imho, makes task creation easier. The warps I'm doing custom, for long tracks across wide areas. With siddin's new speed plugin, might not have to use as many warps as i thought i would.

Hi all, I just started trying to use this today. I have a lvl 35 monk i'm trying to lvl up. I took him to DL and started the advtaskwarp2 mac. But all he ever did was just request tasks over and over he never once selected one and did it.

The selection screen would pop up it would cycle down the list the window would close and he would sit there then re-request a task. What am I doing wrong?

I also had a question about shrouding. I've never really done it. Do you still earn regular exp while shrouded or does it just advanced your shroud?

Ok I figured out part of the problem. There isn't a task giver in OT anymore the old OT tasks are given out by Marana in DL now so I put those task under the DL section in the ini. It selected the task but it won't go do it I get an error that says "bad waypoint suggest default"

Got it finally just had to put the OT inc file in the the DL inc file and it worked like a charm.

You are way to low for DL tasks at 35 the Overthere Klok is the task giver, I use him all the time.
