So I have a 6 box now that is SK/CLR/ENC/WIZ/WIZ/MAG. I'm not a big fan of the caster centric setup so woul like to change it up. What would make a better group SK/CLR/BRD/BER x 3 or sub in a shaman for the CLR and or Chanter for the Bard because of the cc ability of the chanter.

I actually like your setup because its the least botlike setup, may not be the highest dps one out there, but for being in static zones, its the least one thats going to attraction attention to yourself.
 
i love my set up bard,cleric,shaman,zerk,ranger,sk but as mroutlaw said melee heavy groups take a little more gear and aa to get the dps from them but a maxed level zerker with a solid raid/chase weapon wreck.
 
my best group ever is a sk shaman enchanter mage cleric and wizard, that group destroys things and is able to go through running missions and progression easily as you have two forms of travel and summon corpses with sk and its just a perfect group combo, i have tried the trick groups and yeah they might kill faster and stuff but for overall all around this is best group combo .
 
I actually just rerolled my entire box, (war,clr,brd, 3x zerk). I kept running into too many frustrating situtations with an all melee group. The concept is great and I'm sure someone with more mq knowledge could have made it beast but I'm a bad noob and I failed :(. I definitely recommend casters for new mq users such as myself.
 
^^ this, its more of a gear situation then being a noob unless you played as a raider or have acess to the very best melee gear they will never outdps a wizard or a mage, i can basically take a wizard or mage to 110 in heroic gear and out dps any melee class wearing same because spells are front loaded on expacs .

What sort of dps are you getting out of said mage or wizard?
 
using game parse i average around 60 to 200k depending but thats not a fair assumption because i have them slightly geared now but when i originally made them the mages and wizards were consistant 60 to 70 k where as the berserkers until a good weapon were only getting around 30k as well as beastlords and rangers. again 105 with heroic gear only.

here is another group for a week with some melee and they had decent weapons group t1 stuff so definiately upgrade from heroic and oh yeah these guys are 110 lol big diff is the first group has more aa then the 110

you should try running EoKnuke on the Wiz. I average just under 100k dps over 24 hours with a FTP lvl 105 wiz

Show your gamparse or it didn't happen! Pre-RoS my wizard only does about 50-65k dps sustained, parses are in my wizard guide for KA. I tried eoknuke before trying KA, all it did was run my mana oom and my wizard was sitting there 3 minutes medding up while the rest of the group was clearing chain pulls, so 3 minutes of 0 dps intervals every 10-15 minutes. Those 3 minute of 0 dps intervals add up over 24 hours. The parse I posted I think was like 17 hours of constant chain pulling, with like 5-10 secs of maybe no combat happening once pulls got a bit to long.
