Question - 2H Slashing increasing unexpectedly (bug?)

Hey everyone,

My 99 SK is using a Sword of the Lone Tarot and has all of a sudden started getting 2H Slashing skill increases. I think this my have started after the last patch cycle, but I'm not 100% certain. The weapon is definitely a one handed weapon and I have a shield equipped in the secondary slot.

Is this some sort of bug that could end up getting me banned as using an exploit? Has anyone else seen anything like this happen?

Many folks wouldn't even notice their skill up, especially how fast skills go up these days, you'd cap out so fast.

Might be worth logging a bug, but this doesn't sound game breaking or ban worthy.

If you are super worried, just use a 2 hander to max out your 2h skill, then swap back

Might be the Crimson Blade ability line. A similar thing happens with zerkers and frenzy or some other ability that uses h2h.

Thanks guys. I like the suggestion of switching to a 2 hander until the skill maxes out, just in case. I'm not using Crimson Blade at the moment ... although it turns out I should have been, lol. Thanks for that too.

some discs say "inflicts a 2H Slashing attack," which means that the disc is doing 2H slash regardless of what you have equipped. It's not a bug or an exploit.

Ranger do a similar thing, their AA's increase the Bow skill when you dont even have a bow equipped. I PLed my ranger, had him running a Kissassist and noticed his bow skill raised quite easily before he even got a bow.

it happens to war and sks also.. be all sword and boarding it, and see a 2hd skill up randomly.. been happening for months..
