Although this and other macros I write are not exclusively for use by RedGuides,
I am authorizing its use for the community.
(This and other macros I write may be available at "other" MQ2 sites).

This macro has been tested using the most recent RedGuides MQ2 compile.

This macro and all others I submit for the community will be fully supported by myself
(as long as you have not altered the code for it).
Changing user specific (non global) declares is permissible.

This macro is for use when doing the 12th anniversay quest for the Glowing Lena Fete Rune. With all the new Heroic Characters on the servers and EQ anniversary events going on, thought this would come in handy.

- Solo Task: Hunt of the Shards
-- Starting NPC: Seeker Nerattan (roams around the vendor house in Sunrise Hills)
--- Reward: Glowing Lena Fete Rune

What is it?
This macro will attempt to locate the quest groundspawn items and walk you to each/pick them up and auto-inventory them. It does not use any warping.

Instructions:
Due to the fact that the groundspawns are in the neighborhood instance zones, and there are twisting paths/mountains in the zone . . . you should go to the middle of a particular neighborhood's "block" and run the macro.

Pay attention to if your toon tries to go to another "block" by heading straight for the mountain that seperates them. If this happens, end the macro, walk to a new "block" and restart it.

It has a GM and near pc check so as to not be noticable.

Problems or issues:
Please post them here and do not send me PM's.
If you have an issue. . . then sombebody else might as well.
I wish to provide support and help for the community as a whole, and not one-on-one support via PM's (I'll charge you for that! - lol).

UPDATE:
Added separate version to use MQ2Navigate.

UPDATE:
Have fine tuned the macros.

You now have a choice to either use the Moveutils one or the Navigate one.

If you DO NOT have a Mq2MoveUtils.ini, then use the included one. The default movement distance for Mq2MoveUtils without a predefined stop distance is 10 ... this will make you always stop before the distance to pick up the item!

download the .ini to your RedGuides Vanilla Compile directory... unload/reload mq2moveutils.

The Navigation one works flawlessly now...

UPDATE:
Neighborhood.bin file uploaded to server. Please unzip the MQ2Navigation folder from the MQ2Navigation.zip file to your RedGuides Vanilla Compile install directory.

You might be able to use MQ2Navigation for this to deal with the twisting paths. Would be a simple change (just replace /moveto with /nav) and make a mesh of the neighborhood zone. Not sure if anyone has tried that before.

so what would be the zone file for neighborhood?

Quest sais specificly the Sunrise Hills neighborhood zone.

But I know for a fact ANY neighborhood zone will work.

You're probably right ... however I've never used MQ2Nav in my life.... lol It would require me reading and doing work.. what kind of lazy bastard do you take me for... lol

/mq2/zones.ini

[House of Thule]
Sunrise Hills=neighborhood

that should let you map in mq2navigation.

tried macro and it loaded said targetig item 12345 bunch of numbers repeatedly.. does nothing else, no movement, even though move utilities is loaded

Yar I think it needs a few tweaks for our compile looking at it now.

I'm away until monday afternoon, no access to eq atm.

Monday I will convert it to use mq2navigation. I will also upload a good nav mesh for Sunrise Hills.

Bare with me a bit, I promise I'll get it perfected monday. Thanks for the feedback.

A few tweaks needed a /doevents and 1 extra itemtarget. I also dropped in a z target check in case you are doing this levitated.

Works pretty well I had to unstick my toon a few times when I got stuck in a tree but no big deal.

A mq2nav would make this much faster too Thanks treehugindruid.

I was thinking about this exact type of macro the other night when I was running around collecting for a few alts.

Just choose any random neighborhood. I chose a neighborhood of a guild that I've never seen on the server before, some old defunct guild that still has it's neighborhood. After like 4 hours in the zone I didn't see a single other person. You won't have any issues running in to other people.

ok so i ran this one, and it runs around finds item , stands too far away from item turns and looks away from item and does not pick item up, I then have to manually move toon on top of ground spawn and macro resumes..

would be really helpfull to impliment mq2nav into this macro as you hang up on trees and rocks, and if your toon happens to run over a teleportation pad it screws things up. also when ever i happen to get Zebuxoruk's Knowledge of the Gods as a ground spawn eq crashes.. so for a afk macro it isnt quite there yet,, but it 100% helpfull as is , as i got 52 spawns in about 1 hr of manually moving toon closer and restarting eq when crash

no clue what was crashing you took like an hour for or two but i was debugging.

seems my wife ran it and she was levi and she hasnt had a problem yet, except she hasnt got the item i mentioned above so will see if she crashes

also still trying to figure out coding for mq2 nav to avoid teleporter pad lol

It is set to /itemtarget the specific drop# for the quest items, not 12345. Unload and reload mq2moveutils when the macro is not running. And try, post any issues.

Like I said, will convert it to use mq2nav monday. Hopefully we can upload mesh files to server.

It is set to get right o ntop of itemtarget by distance call. Only reason it might not obey distance closeness is if you have setting in mq2emoveutilsd.ini that specifies default distance to stop from target. Values are under the [MoveTo] section and are (ArrivalDist=3.00 ArrivalDistX=3.00 ArrivalDistY=3.00). If you have these values higher.. you will stop farther away from the target.

I remember that giving me living hell with that happening to me every time I used moveutils until I changed setting.

Nav version will be posted tomorrow so bare with me till then.

I completely forgot to add /doevents trigger in main loop, must have posted wrong revision from sourcesafe. (Thanks for catching it Maskoi.)

UPDATE: Home ... building mesh file as I type this.. I think it will be WAY WAY WAY too big to post on the server. You might have to follow the link Maskoi posted to the VERY nice guide on how to build mesh files.. and make your own of Sunrise Hills. Gotta finish rendering it then alter code and test it to use mq2navitaion exclusively. As for running into the block teleporters ...I'm stumped on that one.

I did this last your manually /shrug

Still redcented cause this is simply amazing!

You definately need to do this for your SK mr. nicesandwiches =)

LOL ... you gotta laugh. 3 traders on my server with stacks of 20 of the rarest quest item drop selling them at absurd prices. Anyone care to ponder on this one?

Thanks for the mac Tree, I've tried out the NAV version and it worked once for one item but now every time I try to run it, this is spammed over and over again:

Moving down to target.

The char doesn't actually go anywhere after this, just sits in the same place.

I made sure that my MQ2MoveUtils settings matched what you said they need to be. It doesn't do this with the MOV version.

I tried both. NAV kept getting stuck on rocks and I couldn't correct it without unloading mq2navigation. Using MOV worked much better for me. If he got stuck in some cases he would work himself around the object. In others I could manually control him without needing to stop the macro and it would just pick up in a few seconds. I was able to get my aug so great job thanks for the macro.

Try this. find this line and delete it

Rich (BB code):
/call ZCheck ${Math.Distance[${ItemTarget.Z}:${Me.Z}]} 10

Moveutils version works great.. with lev on .... make sure your using the latest version i posted. It requires the Z check.. otherwise if you are too far above it.. ( able to grab item but not close enough to it ).. you end up with a grab that yields no actual item for you.... this happened several times in testing.. played around with Maskoi's z check, and got the moveutils version working great...

As for the Nav version ... i did my best to make as detailed a .bin file as i could... but obviously it is getting caught on some rocks that line the entry corners of passageways between housing district blocks.

I have tried using the moveutils version and the Navigation one and it keeps saying Couldn't Find "Drop11507" to target and then goes through a process for 30 gm checks. It has never moved or anything for me.

1) You got Mq2Moveutils plugin actually loaded ???? There should be a check for that already. Do a /plugin list and make sure it's there.

2) Do you actually have the quest?

3) Are you in any one of the actual neighborhoods, and waited at least 60 seconds after you zoned in (WITH THE QUEST ACTIVE) ?

Let me know... I'll try to figure out what your issue is.

1) Yes, i have that loaded. That is one of my must have plugin's for as long as i have been using MQ

2) Yea, I have the quest.

3) What do you mean actual neighborhoods? I found a neighborhood that didn't have many plots of land used.

Ok.. Good to know you have the quest, in the right zone.. and plugin loaded.

But not really sure why you getting the msg that the item can't be found... if you have the quest, EQ starts spawning the ground object about 60 seconds max after you enter one of the neighborhood zones.. doesn't matter which one.

Were there people in the zone??? or were you alone. There could be the possibility that someone was using one of my older versions of the macro 2 years ago when the ban stick wasn't being waved at warping all the time.. and the warping version was released by me on "another" site.

If that's the case... then you'll never get a ground spawn.. because that version immediately picked them up the very second one spawned.

Go to a different low or no household plot neighborhood and try... and make sure you are alone in the zone.

The macro has a section in it to check if you are not alone in zone.... but try running this in MQ2Chat window manually:

/if (${SpawnCount[pc]}>1) /echo More than me in the zone (${SpawnCount[pc]} people)

Let me know...

I honestly might NEVER be able to figure out why you are having an issue... but besides the few people here who have had issues getting stuck on rocks with the nav version.. you are the first to say it isn't working at all and the GM check is just looping.

I was getting the exact same message when I tried running the macro. I was able to walk around the zone and grab them manually, but the character never moved from the spot I started the macro. I tried both the NAV and the MOV versions. The .bin file was placed in the MQ2Navigation folder where all my other zone meshes are. Obii is not the only one having the issue.

this is what I get when trying to run the macro .
bin file is in folder
I am in zone
reported navigation loaded zone
have quest.
I see the items on map and ran to one and grabbed as well but nothing.

best I can tell it isn't seeing the ground spawns even though I am seeing them on my map and standing almost on top of one.
seems to be issue , I cannot target any ground spawns even on map with right clicking , also tried loom and other things and couldn't target them either
any help with that and we might be able to resolve this issue.
I loaded a whole new release made sure it wasn't something with my old one was bugged and here iam .

ok seems i changed the /declare GankItem string outer "Hunt of the shards" from "Drop11507"
and it seems to be working somewhat

Is it still possible to get the task, I cant find the questgiver in sunrise.

Its probably over anniversary ended in april. the post he was responding too was from april 6 lol

I loved this idea and all the hard work put into it, so this brings me to the "carry on" question, can this be modified to collect ground spawns in any zone, like mushrooms or leaves? Walking to them not warping to them?!?!?!

12th Anniversary tasks are live again, so this macro is back in business.

Is it working for you ge? I tried it and my guy just sits there looking silly. Both versions.

- - - Updated - - -

Did the "Hunt of the Shards" replacement and it's now working.

Such an awesome macro. Completed x 6 in 20 minutes.

Glad you like it. Still nifty to twink the toons who can use the augment.

I had the same problem as obii1kanobie and mroutlaw when trying out this macro. As per mroutlaw's suggestion to change the INI, it's now working pretty well. Thanks, Tree!
