I absolutely overpaid to play EQ. However, I like the build process, play other games, and can have 50+ chrome tabs open while running three groups no problem!

I started playing again when my wife passed. It was sudden in our case so it took me a while to get beyond the shock. Once my brain got somewhat back to normal I had to have something to keep me busy and old faithful EQ was that thing.

The OP included PoP in the Shadows of Luclin era. Got me too.

I have accidentally turned mq2chat on in the past by clicking it on in the Plugin Manager window inadvertently. Could be a possibility if you have mq2pluginmanager open.

If you post in general chat what you are looking for there is a decent chance somebody will parcel over a whole set of class/level appropriate gear.
