• Hail, we're RedGuides. We want you to play six (yes, 6!) EverQuest characters at once. We have scripts and a friendly community to help, please join our playstyle and say hello! 👋
  • We've added LLM sections to our Terms & Rules and Resource Rules, for everyone's sanity & in-game safety.

    a. Do not replace your voice with an LLM. This goes for your posts and your scripts. Drafting and editing with a tool is fine, but don't take you out of what you share.
    b. Do not replace your EQ character's voice with an LLM. We don't want scripts that speak over /ooc, /shout or other public channels. This has been an unwritten rule that's kept casino scripts off the site for decades, but we're now compelled to make it clear: keep automated communication private.

    Why Does RG Review Scripts?
Nearly every LLM-written Lua script we see is making your character do impossible things, and rarely in a way that's beneficial to you. We've seen heavy server hammering, /target over impossible distances when /nav spawn would passively accomplish the same thing, a spawn search that fires 20+ times per second, and other pointless actions that are likely annoying GMs.

You are welcome to use LLMs as a tool to structure, draft, and edit your work, but please read critically before hitting /lua run

xFix - Fix Stuck XTarget Slots.

Simple script that will check for stuck xtarget slots and reset them to autohater.

Ever get that pesky invisible spawn or corpse that takes an XTarget Slot and brings your macro to a halt?

I mostly see this with a bard in group, but sometimes corpses or an invisible spawn will take up a slot and bring everything to a pause.

This script should fix that.

It runs in the background and checks to make sure you are not in combat, and that there are no spawn's in your xtarget list with no...

howdy grimmier - i approved your function.

some automations already do this (like cwtn plugins).

I'd recommend checking if there is a mob, but there is no spawn ID, then you know you need to set that slot to something (we use emptytarget) and then back to autohater

you have if mq.TLO.Me.XTarget() > 0 and mq.TLO.Me.CombatState() ~= 'COMBAT' an extra time

I have an update coming thats on git that checks ID.
and moved the combat state check to the loop to check before calling the function.

Does it accept manual defined xtarget-slots like mt, ma etc. and leave them as is?
In the descropion i found it searches for spawns, as far as I know player chars are as well derivated from spawn.

it does not currently but it should leave them alone.
it searches for corpses, and any target with a nil id and chests damn those pesky ldon chests.

I use xTargetx but didn't realize xFix was included as part of that until I couldn't add players to the standard xtar window manually in slots 10-20, which I use for healing. It shows them flick on and instantly back to auto again. Is there any sort of debug I can use to figure out why it isn't letting me add them when it should (given the fact that they aren't corpses, etc.)? When I disable xtargetx the standard xtar window works as intended.
