Hello all, I was hoping to have 2 questions answered that are stumping me right now. All of the chars in party are using kissassist ini ver 8.5.x, and so far, it's done decently well, but there are 2 major issues that if solved would help greatly:

1. Wizard Shocking Vortex spell:

I get considerably more dps overall if this is cast FIRST before the other dps spells. In fact, I have this as my dps3= line in my ini right after Twincast, and Lower Element. However I have to list a health % on it like: Shocking Vortex|97, and the problem is that based on how kissassist works, it's dependent on the mob's health at the time. This means that it doesn't ALWAYS get cast first, in fact it's only cast 50% of the time, and/or cast far too late into an average fight for it's worth to be fully enjoyed.

My question based on the above is, how do I get it so that it is ALWAYS cast first if it is not on the mob? Then thereafter only cast when it falls off again, but once it does, immediately recast the targeted mob in question. (Only when a battle is going naturally). I am not sure if afnuke does this or not, or if the answer at this point is to simply "use afnuke instead" but I'm sure there has to be a way to do that in the ini files. Also I've heard afnuke annihilates wizard mana, and I'd prefer a tad more "controlled burn" than that if at all possible, as I'd only lose 15% dps at most that way.

2. Shaman HoT Spells (Such as Wisp of Renewal, or Halcyon Bluster)

This is a real pain in the ass. This is also using kissassist ini for casting, but it just doesn't seem to understand HoT's well. "Weaving" them in properly would greatly assist healing health per second, but only if casting it at that time won't kill the Main Assist! Meaning that normal heals such as Krasir's Mending are working mostly as intended, but I want HoT's to supplement it throughout the battle. The best way to do this is to have a HoT active while also spamming Krasir's Mending, and logic suggests to place that HoT in the ini with a Health % higher than Krasir's so that it's preferred.

The issue is that kissassist treats any HoT as a normal instant heal, so it'll try and spam that over and over to try and save the MA while ignoring the instant spells. Naturally this won't work, and the MA will almost certainly die.

What I would like is to have a HoT constantly up in battle supplementing normal instant heals. Meaning, have it cast ONCE, and then while it is on the MA (or any other char) don't cast it again, and instead blast instant heals out until it falls off. Then the moment it falls off and detects that, recast the HoT, and basically repeat that process. (UNLESS the MA is below 25% HP, then hold off on the HoT and continue to keep blasting instant heals until he's above 50%. It's possible that this special scenario is too difficult for an ini however.)

The only way I have found to do this without it interfering (and I will continue to do this regardless) is to have a group HoT up as an aura buff ALL of the time. So it's spammed outside of battle, and thus when I start a battle, it helps the initial 12(ish) seconds of the fight which are the most difficult. This isn't a problem as my shaman is always with my enchanter, and thus his mana is effectively infinite. However, even as useful as that "aura workaround" is, I would love to have HoT's be utilized normally throughout battle, as my cheat HoT otherwise won't be recast until after battle, thus making healing through names that much harder.

I have no idea how advanced shambot is, or if it actually covers this scenario. If it really is superior to the ini as far as using a shaman, and that's the answer, I suppose I'll have to learn it, but if the ini really is the best way to do shaman healing, I'm all for it.

Welp that's about it, the answers to those 2 questions would be great. I did also look for any prebuilt downshits that would assist in this, but didn't find any. So, any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You might want to post your heal section of you shamans ini file. The HOT spells have a timer assigned to them and should not be cast again until the HOT wears off. Even if you have the HOT set to cast at 99% it should not cast again until the HOT wears off.

I am not that familiar with Wizards, But the DPS flag can be set 1 or 2 and it makes a difference in how the spells are evaluated and cast. I think 2 casts in order the spells are in the list.

Look here and see if this helps: http://www.redguides.com/community/showthread.php/26002-KissAssist-6-Instructions-amp-Settings-Info#dps

I play a shaman and I don't have an issue with HOT spells, but I am also using KissAssist 9 and not 8.5

Well here is the pasting:

[Heals]
Help=Format Spell|% to heal at i.e. Devout Light Rk. II|50
HealsOn=1
Heals1=Historian's Intervention Rk. II|65
Heals2=Roar of the Lion|77
Heals3=Krasir's Mending Rk. II|80
Heals4=Krasir's Recourse Rk. II|75
Heals5=Halcyon Bluster Rk. II|0|MA
Heals6=NULL
Heals7=NULL
Heals8=NULL
Heals9=NULL
Heals10=NULL
Heals11=NULL
Heals12=NULL
Heals13=NULL
Heals14=NULL
Heals15=NULL
Heals16=NULL
XTarHeal=0
AutoRezOn=1
AutoRezWith=Incarnate Anew
HealGroupPetsOn=0

Notice I have the HoT turned off right now, and it's at the end of the list. If I were to have it turned on, it would instead look like this:

Heals1=Halcyon Bluster Rk. II|85|MA
Heals2=Historian's Intervention Rk. II|65
Heals3=Roar of the Lion|77
Heals4=Krasir's Mending Rk. II|80
Heals5=Krasir's Recourse Rk. II|75

Naturally I can't turn the HoT on due to the problem I'm having in the OP. Hmm, maybe I really should just upgrade to Kissassist 9 then... Unless anyone else has any suggestions.

As far as for the wizard stuff? Sure, I guess I could try the 2 flag, as I am using the 1 flag right now. If that fixes it, that'd be great... but it also sounds like Kissassist 9 might also be a partial answer to this.

Hopefully further responses might have other suggestions as well!
