Question - Who to pull with? Shaman, Necro, or Bard?

I know I don’t have a tank… I added the shaman and bard to my main necro to add some synergy and QOL perks.

With that said, I’m having problems pulling. I’ve had the best luck with the shaman but let me explain.

When I pull with my necro, the necro switches to whatever mob gets back to camp first. Even though I’m pulling with my pet there is a chance that my necro drops a dot on the pulled mob which messes up mez with the bard.

When pulling with bard, he gets pretty pummeled when we get back to camp if my necro MA (pet tank) doesn’t pick up the mob quick. His gear and AAs are a lot better than the last time I tried. So maybe I should give him another shot.

Same with my shaman, sometimes the necro MA does pick up the mobs in camp quick enough. Same issue with slow bard mez too…

Any suggestions would be helpful.

yea that's gonna be a tough scenario without a real tank. You might have to set up the necro to keep pulling but adjust the necro so it doesn't dot anything until it's below 95% to prevent it from dotting stuff that may be mezzed.

That’s a really good idea. Could maybe even just set it to 97 or 98. Thanks!

is it possible to just go to the mobs and fight them there instead of pulling them back?

I mained a necro for a long time and i loved (and still do) manually pulling with it - any reason you're not pulling with the nec?

Completely agree. Most of the time I am pulling with my necro and running him manually when I have the other guys on chance.

The above situation is when I’m grinding AAs. I’m trying to get it mostly hands off so I can monitor while I work on my third screen.

I have to agree with the above. Given the choices, I would pull with your necro as it seems that is your driver. You have a bunch of tools to use on your necro; Encroaching Darkness, Pestilent Paralysis, your pet, Death's Effigy can all be incorporated into your pull routine. Range is your friend when pulling with necro. Necros are awesome! Even your shaman can be used to park a mob on a bad pull using Virulent Paralysis. Get clicking on those hot keys . I do use bards in several of my groups but for CC purposes.

Oh my.... so I used shoecrew's ini as a starting point and just noticed that I had debuffall on my 4 main dots. I'm guessing this allows shoecrew to multidot since he is tanking a bunch of mobs at once. I think that was my issue!

Could be part of it, but I believe Shoe also uses a condition to check if the mob is mezzed prior to dotting the adds. I do something similar with my necros, I use debuff all with their main Pyre dot but I also have a condition to check that the mob is above a certain HP threshold and it is not mezzed.

I use my shaman to pull most of the time. I box 6 toons, Shaman, SK, Chanter, Bard, BST and Rogue

I'd try them all out. Bard is a cakewalk to pull with because of aggro drop and mez. Necro can snare, fd, and dot otw to group. Shaman has a bunch of roots, debuffs, and dots you can use while pulling. You may as well try each of them and see what flows best with how you play.
