Question - Which accounts to activate gold on?

Hi guys,

I am currently 5 boxing WAR/MAGE/DRU/BARD/SHAM, I started them all at level 1 just for the sake of getting use to KA and playing around with it.
Currently my Warrior is on a gold account, which of those other toons do you recommend I get gold on?

p.s if my boxing setup is not right, I'm open to suggestions in terms of which classes go good with each other.

I personally gold all my accounts, I loved the auto grant from 51 - 105. I felt on my non gold accounts tests it was painful at times. You should at least KR or gold each account around 105 maybe 110 next patch. To get all the free AA.

Like sic says, the main tank is a must if you want to have any chance at higher end mobs. Without gold on my tank I lose half my stats. Other than that it's pretty much gold any toon that is going to help your group the most. Crowd Control and Healer will take the most heat if you end up with multiple mobs on pulls and your not using a massive aggro tank.
Personally I love to Gold my mage just because the pet is an uber off tank with a max focus item (prestige). And, my bard for higher rank buff songs. Pretty much everything gold will add up to be a lot better than free to play. Just my two redcents worth.

From your experience, would you recommend warrior as a group tank? I do have my SK on another server but with the PL'ing I got on him, I'm playing like a 5 year old.

warrior, sk, or paladin are all viable tanks, play what you like

Well it all comes down to what you like to play. Having fun is the most important thing. So Group wise I see from your post that you might need to add another character. Most of my groups are Tank (warrior, shadowknight, paladin, and Beserker) add either bard or enchanter for CC. then healer (cleric, shaman, maybe Druid) Add in a buffer (druid, shaman, Beastlord. Thats 4 of the six and the other two depends on what I want to accomplish at the time. So in short make your group what you want to have fun with. (I have been having a blast running 3 necros with a bard and mage and SK.

As for the gold make it for the account that will help you out the most. (I have 6 accounts that are gold.)

If money isn't an issue for you yes. Gold them all 51+. Non gold accounts can only get something like 200AA before they cant gain anymore. 200AA in a game where some classes max out at 60k+ AA is game breaking. The only time I would go back to free to play is after getting MAX LEVEL/AA and no prestige /rank 2 spells. I have 18 accounts gold at the moment and I play all 18 99% of the time.

Really it's up to you on the Gold/FTP and how much $$ you want to spend. My take is this.... if you are just getting started in the game, it will not matter much till probably level ~85. By that point you can try out several classes to get a good feel for what you like. Plus you could create a new FTP account for each class to sub in as desired (or multiple of the same). That way you are not going gold on an account/class that you may not have passion (or have to re-level on the gold account).

Once you get your group (or groups) settled a little and you are ready to push to 110 / Max AA, then you'll want to consider going gold on your primary 6 characters. You could stick with only the tank going gold to 110 and rest staying green FTP if you wanted (DPS will be slower, xp slower and so on). Heck, I played my first group 100% green FTP to 110. You are really limited on content, but it can be done.

Another thing to consider is xpacs. Probably you'd want to stay with basic xpacs until you are happy with your group setup. I'm not a 100% expert on this, but there seems to be very little value in TOV, COV, and TOL for groups <110 (outside of maybe some easy Baking TS matsin WW).

Have fun with your characters / group setup. Once you get a group to 105+ (or 85 really), it is so easy to PL new characters. So try not to sweat it too much.

Play what you like. the point of this is to have fun (why my bags look like crap.. not spending days sorting them).

Tank you said is gold, thats 100% good. After that, I would go with best DPS (if its melee def).

As others have said, at least around 105 (soon to be 110?) id do all to gold at least once for the auto grant.

I keep 30 of 36 gold, and the F2P all ate a KR once. Once you start getting into modern content, while F2P can be its own rewarding challenge.. It aint easy >.>
