Question - When leveling a new group of characters do you usually throw in a high level?

I'm lvling a group of 6 atm and they're all 80-90~ atm and I'm considering dropping 1-2 to add one of my 100s or 105s to the group for either added dps or survive or something just seems it would improve the efficiency of the group a lot but then I'd also be losing out on xp for the other 1-2 characters I drop. So just curious if yall typically do that or do you just maybe bring an oog buffer and make due with that? I feel like my group rly struggles with dps without the added 100s in there. My 100s are parsing 20-30k and my 90s can't seem to do over 7-8k with averages of more like 3-4k so clear speeds are rly slow. This is my first attempt at lvling a full 6 man team at once so I don't know how its best done. Usually I just lvl 1 char with my SK and swarm em up to the lvl/aa I feel is sufficient.

I've done OOG Shaman and Cleric a few times.

However, when raising a new group of 6 I will usually raise them to 85 (or heroic them) and them split them into 2 separate groups and run them with my 105 SK (Tank), 105 Bst (DPS), and 105 Cleric (Heals) till I get them maxed out in level then do the next set.

At that point I will take 5 of my MAINS and take the toons 1 at a time, pop a krono or pay for 1 month, and run them that way to max AA, then do the next toon, rinse repeat...

Another proccess I have done is make a new toon on one of my MAINs accounts to "replace" its counterpart in my present group and when they are maxed out transfer them to a new account.

NOTE: On my main 6 accounts I have a besides the main character on each account I keep a maxed out "group" per se (basicially one of each of my favorite char tpes on each account), just for these types of things.

there's a guide somewhere around here that has some helpful information about powerleveling using fellowship shared exp that would fit well with splitting them to two groups.

depending on specifics you could also use mercs while you level instead of other 105's to get some merc AA in the process.

Are you trying to play them or just trying to get them levels. Personally, in thesame situation I just split them into two batches and did Shard's Landing http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=5996 which takes minimal setup with KA. You just need to reset it after 6 hours. I would then switch to tds/tbm/eok instances.

I'd also take breaks for feeding fellowship xp while camping something useful on your 105s.

Wow thats a really great way of doin it. I was doin something similiar so far I put in my 105 clr and 100 mage/bst but would definitely be better and faster if I threw in my raid sk instead. Will try that later and I like ur idea about the aa thing. I popped a krono on all the accounts alrdy so I could get the auto grant since they were struggling around 60-70 but would have definitely been smarter and more efficient to just do your way. Appreciate the advice I'm going to try that to finish this group and for my next. I want to make a full melee group as I hear berserkers are insane. I just need to figure out how to get mine to do dmg lol. The one I was playing by lvl 70 he had like 30/350 2hs skill so his dps was non existent. Maybe I need to just sit him afk in arena on my mage pet for a few hours or something I dunno. But with what I have now the casters are putting out WAY more dps especially now that I threw in the beastlord for regen.

Do you mean use the mercs on the split groups? So like send group a (3) with my 3 100s and group b (3) with 3 mercs so they xp at the same time?

I never really did many missions, I need to figure them out more as I know they have great xp/loot. I've played the old school way my entire eq career of just finding a camp and grinding out mobs lol. Change is scary oO... Also yea I need to use the fellowship share xp more so I'm not wasting xp on my maxed out mains

I know this is shit exp but at 75 I put them in a raid with my 2 other 105 groups and went and slaughtered other zones semi afk, found a few spots id just pop them at and come back later. The late 90s and early 100s zones are prob the best bet because of fast kills and such

I powerlevel 6 1-75 using DS plvling with a SHD with a wurmslayer sitting down, and a bard in the plvlee group.
Then at 75: tier 2 EOK zones chain pulling for insane xp/aa, or I put 2 lowbies in with 4 geared toons in TBM for 100% afk.

so you buy eok on every account you make? do you know some way to get it cheaper than $35?

I wish they bulk sold it. I just can't imagine not having access to TBM gear to start things off and all the sweet EOK aas.

I haven't really done any eok stuff so I don't rly know anyting about it but I have 20ish accounts its hard to imagine dropping $700+ on eok for all of them

I put freshies in a group of 4 105's in an EoK zone, freshie is heroic, doesnt take too long to get to 105, which is rule number 1, aa off...then 100% on once into about 60% of lvl 105. Easier to level this way than try to level a full group of children all at the same time...too many zones etc.,

Of course, you have to buy exp pots from the store. Use them even if its not a double exp weekend or whatever.

MQ2 will make it fun again!

Awesome good to know I just need to learn to use it better to make it fun lol right now its semi overwhelming and confusing but I've got it working half decent right now even tho its just slaying light blues I've got my 3 just about to 95 not sure where I'm gona head at 95 tho. Also need to save up $700 now I guess to buy a shit ton of EoK expansions lol

I have it on 36 accounts right now...
The rest will wait for 50% off sale :P

If you're constantly fed with fellowship XP (which is easy to be on one or two toons simultaneously with a bit of setup), you're recieving normal XP at 500% rate and AAs at 300% rate. Adding a potion to this would take it to 550% or 350%, so screw the pots. Adding a LoD takes it to 600% and 400% respectively, also this is not really worth it, but it's free as compared to the pots.

On a double XP weekend, I can easily supply 4 toons split into 2 groups and 2 fellowships with constant max vitality, on normal XP you can do slightly more than 1 per group. This is a group balancing thing, and for it to work you should have 2 steady streams of equal XP coming in to both groups, therefore it's very hard to make it better.

The only problem I have with buying EoK in large amounts is that there is no good way to buy it without linking it to yourself.

So you buy EoK for your 20 accounts on the same Credit Card, one account goes bad, all accounts go bad.

There are no anonymous CCs that I am aware of. Perhaps those prepaid debit cards work for buying EoK?

There have been cases here on RG of people losing all their accounts linked to the same CC just because one account was banned.
