I noticed the same thing. And if you type it in and hit ok it doesn't seem to add it. I am assuming there will be some instructions coming to explain how to use it so I am thinking operator error on my part. I am liking how it has ui now! I haven't found it but it would be great if the log in information could be stored unencrypted.

Using with ISBoxer requires a different configuration. In the mq2autologin.ini, use these settings:
UseStationNamesInsteadofSessions=1
UseMQ2Login=0

Then make sure there are entries for each account. When you fire up the ISBoxer group, the plugin will take care of logging the toons in.

We always understood this we just want some haste for a basic true up patch. This is more like when they brought dx11 to test. A hey I’m working on it or nah I’m good go play live and shut up is all I ask.
The shit part is it is down 50% of weekends... The time most of us are free to play, and it isn't like EQ did a major update. They changed some minor things. Had this been live, MQ would have been update by now. It would have probably been updated before yesterday. I doubt it has even been looked at by anyone yet. My only question is, who do we have to pay money to it get Test timely attention?

This has been discussed over and over and over every time Test is patched.
The only person working on the code when it is patched would be

So there is your answer PAY him

I wouldn't be saying anything if I didn't do that already. The problem with Tipping is you are paying someone for something they are already doing, not something you expect them to do. Things you expect done are paid up front, there is only the monthly sub to RG paid up front, but Test players get the shit end on that. "Tip the Devs" is a wonderful concept, but it isn't an actual solution. We can't even get word on when we can expect it worked on. Anytime someone says anything we get the same, "Tip the dev and stfu" in a nutshell from people who probably aren't impacted by anything we are talking about.

You asked a question " who do we have to pay money to it get Test timely attention?"
I answered the question......

And I play on TEST

And I play on TEST

I also play on test. We get many many benefits for playing there one of the things we get to deal with a bit more and this is true even from the eq dev team - is downtime. Honestly all the benefits make it worthwhile. If people don’t want to deal with it there are live paid servers where the devs have had a multi day if not multi week head start to correct vanilla before release….

No one is working on MacroQuest full time, it’s a hobby. RedGuides is downstream from that.

When a patch happens for Test off schedule, you’ll probably see it take longer. In fact, I think there’s some rose colored glasses happening when you’re talking about Live because when a patch happens off schedule with Live it takes longer too. It’s just that the off schedule patches for Live happen much less frequently. Test has been doing it more often lately because they’ve been dealing with a lot more bugs.

Neither one gets a “drop everything and quit my day job” level of attention though, even on scheduled patch days. There are more people playing on Live, so it tends to get more attention because it impacts more people, but it’s still a hobby.

For me, personally, having someone complain about something I’m doing for free not being fast enough has the opposite effect of driving me to want to work on it. I get why it happens, people are just venting, but when I’m choosing where to spend my time I’m probably not going to focus on that. I can’t speak for brainiac in that regard.

There are several options here. Emu is never down for patching from MQ because it never changes, ultimately that is the lowest downtime MQ experience. Live is second, as I mentioned above. Test is always going to be last.

If it’s super important to you then the only two options I see are to either speak with brainiac directly and see if there is a way that you can incentivize him to carve out more time for Test (but I doubt complaining is going to be the way) or find someone else who is willing to put in the work and similarly incentivize them.

For me, when someone pops in asking for an ETA on my hobby it sort of saps the fun out of it for me.

If continued discussion on this is warranted, I think a more productive and solution oriented thread is best and I don’t think this thread is the proper place — probably best to start a new thread.

We get downtime people are just tired of the silent treatment. If brainiac needs help I’ve seen people posting what can they do to speed things up. No response other than tip the dev. I reserve tipping for fast good service. This is like those places requiring tips up front before food is delivered.

I am bowing out this thread on the fear of saying something that will get me in trouble.........
Insert smart ass comment here ..........

I’ll be working on it today. Haven’t been at my computer since Friday morning. I have a real life too, ya know.

Knightly summed it all up pretty well

So there is your answer PAY him

You’re not paying me to update test. You’re offering a token of appreciation, buying me a coffee, a beer, a whatever

If you were buying test updates from me, I assure you the prices I would charge, you could not afford.

There isn’t anything people can help with to make updates go faster, but we have lots of issues on GitHub and if people want to help they should look there for ideas on things that could use some help

Sorry the word pay came from me replying to

who do we have to pay money to it get Test timely attention?

so i was merely pointing to the person that would be you Brianiac

Nothing more than that

as a full time test player i have to say its only been 48 hrs ... thats not long for test ... i dont see why anyone is buggin out about an eta ... but i can see why someone might want an update after a day or so ... regardless its important whether you tip the dev or not to make sure we understand that this is time they are donating ... in the end how they donate that time isnt up to us.

@brainiac Thank you for getting this so quickly. It must be rough when your hobby has people passionately pushing for you to do it faster.
