I play on Test and run a few characters. I do what has been posted previously:
I launch EQ Launchpad individually for each of my accounts and get them to the character select screen (all of this as run as admin).

I then launch MQ2.exe as admin once my toon(s) are at character select and I haven't had any issues (other than my brain farts for plugin's or other user errors I create).

But it does work on the live compile?

Yes! That's the frustrating part. The live compile works fine, it's the Test one that gives me fever. :(

GPS_Soldier, do you have different installs for each character or is there a way to make the launcher launch multiple instances of EQ?

I have 8 characters up right as we speak on test.. I bypass the launcher every time..

1 install folder for all the accounts, no other folders what so ever

no issues for me at all over the last 24 hours.. not even 1 character kick

edit

send a shortcut of the everquest.exe to the desktop and do this

D:\EQTest\eqgame.exe patchme" /login:Whateveryourlogininfoisgoeshere

and create copies for each toon, and rename each one accordingly.. I have 8 eqtest ones on my desktop, 1 for each character..

100% bypasses patcher and goes directly into that login name

edit again

obviously you want your eqtest folder location to go where mine was... lol

I'm about done messing with it. I've done everything I can think of, including downloading and installing EQ Test (from the EQ site) fresh and nothing's worked.

One thing I noticed that may not count for anything: When I open multiple clients using the patchme shortcuts (or WinEQ2), they all group together in the taskbar. When I open a client using the launcher, that client doesn't merge with the others. It stays separate. This seems odd since they're all running the same testeqgame exe (same folder). Here:

tbstack.jpg

The pair is run from testeqgame using patchme. The last one is run from the launcher as I described previously. MQ2 will only run on the third window, not the other two (I ran MQ2 after the third client got to character select). No idea if it means anything. I'm just used to hovering over the stack of windows in the taskbar if I forget which window has which class. So it seemed odd to have 'one of these windows is doing its own thing...' going on.

This just so still sounds like an admin issue. i know you have checked everything but in your test eq folder make sure the following files are marked run as admin,
Everquest.exe
eqgame.exe
testgame.exe
TestEverquest.exe

in wineq
Wineq.exe

and in test compile folder
macroQuest2.exe

right click on the taskbar at the bottom, by the stack..

click on properties

where it says taskbar buttons click never combine

that should fix that issue

If anyone is still having issues with this and WinEQ, I know I did. I couldn't find my fix here, but what I did was:
Close out of EVERYTHING, WinEQ, MQ2, etc.
Pop open live patcher, patch to test.
In WinEQ settings for that install dir, do NOT select test server. That's throwing everything off. Keep it live. The patching to test is what will get you the correct info.
Then run both MQ2 and WinEQ as Admin, if necessary, and you should be good to go.

I couldn't wrap my head around why it wasn't working, but guessing it points at the test EXE, which is no longer needed.

Our Test Server Dev is out of town until tomorrow I think so expect to have it in a day or two

Much appreciated, this is going to be such a pain to play it by hand till then =P

In other news, some nice changes coming.

One last thing, when this gets done, who's the appropriate person to toss some funds at as donation/thanks?

Not sure if you guys are aware they had a mini patch last night. Giving me time to buy spells and get resituated. Thanks.

Awesome figured as much. Little downtime won't hurt plus my wife got invite to wildstar stress test this weekend.
