Instructions

  1. Use the Patchme command to bypass the SOE Launcher
  2. Download the Very Vanilla compile zip file at the bottom of this post.
  3. Download the RGUpdater or grab it out of the Very Vanilla compile zip file.
  4. Use the RGUpdater to update your MacroQuest files. Instructions are here.
  5. Run MacroQuest2.exe from that folder
  6. Run EverQuest.exe
  7. In-Game, type "/plugin <plugin name>" to add all plugins you wish to use
  8. Click Here for Plugin Commands/Descriptions.

Was a sneak attack patch Thurs 4/3/14 night so be sure to repatch EQ.

Getting an MQ2 mismatch message and some MQCast errors.

It seems to run, but not as smooth as it used to :S

ty guys, took my a while to figure out the redguide update wasn't working someone else compiled this version. it has a purpleish little symbol when i run it. anyways my point is, how do i turn off the time stamps on all my chat.

Its the same compile. macroquest2.exe was updated by the macroquest2 devs. Its now blue instead of red.

Sounds like you had MQ2 running while trying to update MQ2. In the future you need to close that first.

In the meantime, you need to delete whatever temporary files were created by RGUpdate.exe from your MQ2 folder - usually

and that should do it.

If that doesn't work, make sure you have Microsoft .Net Framework 4 which you can find in the thread linked above.

I had this same problem. Deleting those two files and re updating with mq2 shut completely off fixed it.

Hello, I saw someone had made a post about a shaman buff bug with this compile. The thread was closed and all that was mentioned was relocating his proc buff spell to dps. Well that's all fine and good. But there is a buff issue somewhere. My shaman's were doing the same thing, along with a cleric I use. They will not buff Unity or Cert. I also noticed that the same proc buff if put in as a DPS buff does not cast. For some reason during combat if the spell isn't mem'd the shaman will not memorize and cast it. All this worked before the new compile from the patch. And none of it is working now. Additionally, on a similar but unrelated issue, for some reason kissassist does not notice Spirit of Bih'Li as a buff. I am sure most people don't use it but extra attack that stacks is always handy in my opinion.

They will not buff Unity or Cert. 95% is not setup correctly with the dual tag. both of those spells need the dual tag.

Unity & 2 part buffs like Unity of the Spirits must use the following syntax:
Spell Name|Dual|Buff Name. See shaman example below

I have them set up as dual tag buffs. They worked fine before the patch.

KK there have been some bugs fixes in source. I will release a new compile Friday night. Hopefully will fix it.

I got a weird problem. I patched to latest EQ using launcher, then I patched MQ2 to the release above(20140410). I noticed that after the update, the MQ2 icon was the same red icon that has been there a while when executed.

I use Isboxer and was getting a MQ2main.DLL crash in Isboxer.

I tried the normal single instance eqgame.exe with the patchme command, eqgame would not run with MQ2 loaded.

I wiped out my MQ2 directory and re-downloaded 20140410 and installed from scratch. The MQ2 icon in the taskbar is now purpleish but gives the date of April 3, 2014. Still eqgame exe will not run with patchme command while MQ2 is loaded. eqgame exe runs fine when MQ2 is not running.

Like I said, weird.

Everquest Has detected a crash.. MQ didnt even give me an injection failure error..

eqgame.exe has stopped working...

Just tried the new one.

I'm using windows 7 (legit copy and key not pirated) I logged out of windows all the way back in did the update then started mq2.. and got eqgame.exe has stopped working as soon as I double clicked the file (im using patchme obviously and skipping patcher like always I am updated)

I tried Loading mq AFTER eq was loaded and instant crash.

I extracted it to a clean folder did not use the updater .. and it works fine.. odd must be something on my end I'll just copy my ini and macros over :-)

Updater still wont update the old folder to work right, it appears as if the Macroquest2.exe file was not updating.. the one i had still was the red icon looking one this one has a blue color to it and a date modified showing from 4/10.. the one with the last compile from 20140404 would not update so once i replaced THAT file manually it worked fine. (i run everything as administrator when it comes to mq2 and EQ incase i have any errors in that manner

I was going to be sad if it wasnt working tonight, I wanted to watch a movie .. not sit and play EQ =p naturally if mq2 is not working i have to sit and play EQ.. and heaven forbid We actually play our games instead of botting them :-)

ALARM! ALARM!

After this upgrading to this compile MQ2 is crashing ISBoxer.

I tried loading ISBoxer without MQ2 and no problems then.

This is a brand new compile from scratch. I wouldn't even know how to check it for isoboxer. I will upload the 0403 compile his morning until I can check into this tonight.
