I've noticed this as well. Scenarios vary, but today I was blurring mobs on the Enchanter. There was another situation, but I can't recall the specifics of it (I want to say it was related to buffing another character). In either case, clicking on the target would clear the target window. I believe they were both in Chase mode (which for me also presents a separate issue, but it's likely intended).
is there a way to change this, or is this intended?
if you are one of the caster classes like enchanter/mage - you are going to clear your target if your ma isn't targeting something, or they are targeting themselves (or you're not targeting what they are.Since the last MQ2 patch i have noticed that i am unable to manually target PCs if my plugins are not paused or on manual mode.
- Fixed issue where you would no longer clear your target / validate target if your MA had no target or was targeting themselves if you no longer had mobs on xtarget.
-- Thank you Tibberu for reporting it being persistent on this when told it wasn't a bug =p; it was.
- SwitchWithMa is defaulted "on" for fresh toons
- Classes that don't allow for switchwithma adjustment, like our "caster" classes (mage, enchanter, cleric, shm, etc)
-- will now clear their targets in melee if their assist clears their target or targets themselves (which is how it works for melee classes that utilize the switchwithma functionality)
-- it was previously possible for this to cause issue if your MA got out of range before clearing target/targeting themselves. (should address Dunda's issue, thx Dunda)
well, i did answer with all of the stuff that answers this.and it's in clr bst enc shm, i haven't checked monk rog war sk plugins as i haven't had the need on monk war rog, and my SK plugin is usually paused or in vorpal, as thats the one i drive with.
Vorpal has worked for me so far, provided i've had myself set as MT in the group settings, but I'll give sic a go. Generally I pause and play it manually. Thanks for the heads up, and for the replies, i just felt that i should respond with my findings, sorry that it took so long, dang work taking up my time!well, i did answer with all of the stuff that answers this.
this applies to the casting type classes - clr, ench, shm, dru, wiz, mag, nec (not including bst - unless you're in combat and switchwithma is turned on). since with bst, you don't nuke and dot while not meleeing, its not something that we need to handle this way, but for clr, dru, shm, wiz, mage, nec, enc - this is how we're going to handle assisting if you're in an assist mode.
but yes it is intended, no it isn't a bug
also, vorpal is not a tanking mode, vorpal is an assist mode - unless you have your sk assisting someone else, it doesn't make sense to be in vorpal mode - if you want to move around and do tanking stuff use sictank mode and utilize the resetcamp when you get to a spot you want to now start auto-targetting and tanking inside.

just know, that vorpal isn't doing anything is my point - it isn't a tanking mode, and unless someone else is the assist that you would be assisting off of, its doing nothing by being in that modeVorpal has worked for me so far, provided i've had myself set as MT in the group settings, but I'll give sic a go.
