Question - Turning mob once in camp

Hi All, been trying to figure this out for a while.

I would like my War (Role=PullerTank) turn the mob 180 to camp after engage. I am hoping this will keep my tank in the furthest position away from camp protecting my melee from adds. Otherwise when my melee heavy group engages they are behind the mob and get picked off when an add joins.

you didn't say what automation you're using, or post in an area / provide enough information to answer you (kiss support section, for example)

if you're using something like kiss, you can change your stick to go "through" the mob once with a behind once

are you saying that "behind once" does not make you walk through the mob one time, which should make the mob then turn its back to your group assuming your tank's camp spot is at/in-front of your group?
 
Correct, he pulls the mob to camp, meets the mob a few steps before reaching camp and engages and doesn't try to switch positions. The melee then engage and move around the mob.

Edit: I have that feeling I am missing something dumb here
 
I did notice that with "StickHow=behindonce" he will side step around the mob, like 5 or 6 to the right, then 2 ish to the left repeating until its dead.

I played around with adding a distance "StickHow=behindonce 20" "StickHow=behindonce 40" "StickHow=behindonce 60" but no change.

I am currently testing on mobs with a large hit box, I will move the team to something a little more normal and see

Regardless I get the same behavior. I have changed it back to two words "StickHow=behind once" restarted and applied an update for Very Vanilla, and moved to a new location pulling mobs with a smaller hit box but, unfortunately no change

you changed to mq2melee=0 and then you changed your stickhow in your kissini, not in your mq2melee settings, right? because that is what we're trying to do.
if that is the case, could there be an issue with how fast your toon is moving? as in bard speed making you get to the mob too quickly?

Greetings @Baz , I've tried some StickHow= for you:

I find StickHow=snaproll, which is default, fit your demand most.
Your PullerTank will run through incoming mobs, then turn 180 degree around.
Thus, he will be fighting outside while your melee DPS members will be fighting inside.

But what you could also do is just change mdist to force MQ2MoveUtils to inch you closer if /stick is on. Take a look at the Event_TooFar routine to see examples of how Kiss tries to move a character closer to their target.
