Question - Training Melee Combat Skills (Offensive/Defensive)

Hi all,

I've been power-leveling numerous alts and guild mates as of late. However, their offensive and defensive capabilities tend to suffer due to it. I've found the CSkillup.mac, which is absolutely brilliant for the casters. Thank you! Likewise, I came across the Monk Trainer which is accomplishing a great deal for the young monks.

However, what would be the best and most efficient method to max all offensive and defensive abilities for the rest of the classes? Likewise, is the arena/healer mercenary combination truly the most efficient method? Has anyone found additional places, and/or NPC's to train on?

Any, and all information would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

what I do is pull out my merc healer and then /dual a mage. Have the mage cast an appropriately leveled pet, haste the pet and send in the pet. Just turn on attack and level both offense and defense. helps to have a merc healer in both groups.

Thank you for the reply, Ctaylor.

I'm attempting this tactic as we speak; however, neither of their mercenary healers will intervene during the /duel. Is there a rationale for this that I'm missing?

If I'm unable to figure it out, I may begin using the actual cleric for spot heals. Yet, every time I turn on Autocleric, he wastes 100% of his mana on casting one buff over and over again. Ha. Oh well.

PS: I often take all my characters into the Hatchery instance, in the Plane of Knowledge, for skills training. There, no one can witness to it while I AFK for a few hours. Hope that aids someone!

Thank you, again!

Yea. there is a trick to getting the merc healers to keep you healed. There was a post a couple years ago about how to get your merc healers to heal you when doing a dual. I think you have to be in the same group together with the mage you are /dualing... or something like that. I can't quite remember the specifics, but it has something with all being grouped when you start the dual...
