rouneq has the right idea for normalizing the data. It also lets you create separate tables for things like what vendors (permanently) sell what items and from there you can query by zone.

ShinNoir/Xackery had a scrape of eqtraders data that he was using, though I think he had yet to normalize the data. If you search the forums, alynel also exported tradeskill information at one point, though I believe it is older. Either way, probably a good idea to check with them and combine efforts, or at least get a jump start on data harvesting.

I will be embarking on this data journey shortly, it is not as sexy as making things happen (user experience) but it looks sharp and has turbo handling on the back end.. having a single DB for all things would be great.. !

I also need to think it through, if I can pull items from a online data source based on ID, that could be very helpful for plucking individual item ids for a recipe..

walking through it.. I think I would get any vendor name in POK if the item id has it, and then pick the 1st vendor..

I have not delved into multi-vendor with same item in same zone dynamics yet.. (nearest.vendor).. the reason I mention this..

I have been deconstructing the buy routine for individual recipes.. it is now only coupled to the shopping list solely for the purpose of picking a vendor..

I will remove that and have it associate an item with a vendor using the vendor_file.. to do it the cool way I could add in more vendors and have it sort by nearest and pick that vendor.. however, most of the vendors are all by dogle so I usually choose those. the one offs darius and those other guys.. they are far away from the main ts area with all the crafting tables.

I am working on 2 things currently..

1) if we have to make a recipe and it can use 20 different methods to achieve the main method we will pick whatever one has the required items in inventory and convert it to complete the the main recipe.

2) create a item vendor sort routine that reads a recipe, removes dups, counts required items, assign vendor, then sort by vendor so when we do go shopping it doesn't run to Darius and then to Nonny, and then back to Darius.. This will open the way for single recipe shopping, added benefit is this can be used for non-quests to do shopping..


and work on other stuff that I didn't mention because why not do everything all at once :)

thinking again. I should just put in itemcounts for each item in a recipe so I will not need to remove dupes, nor will I have to do counts..

which removes some steps.. I can phase it in.. so it will start with shopping and then work it's way into the TSC_Core..

Stackable and value wouldn't need to be scraped. Pull that from the item database that we already have. You just need to match on ID.

where did u get info for vendor file? or did u just look it up..and does the experimental version work...??

There are lots of databases out there from the emulator servers with item, merchant, tradeskill ect.

http://items.sodeq.org (might be useful, 13th floor item database) not sure how to use it.

There is an items list or itemlist with all kindsa info, but specifically it has the ID and the Name.. which I can do some parsing magic I am sure.. to add a field to the current list and populate it.. but nothing that ties the item to the id to the vendor.. so far..
 
Not sure how accurate this would be with the newer content.

If you are talking just specific vendors it could be made. But to do the whole database of eq would be well...

sqlite's relative directory in Live is in the root of MQ2, just use relative paths. But the above assumes your macros are in the macros folder (which is editable).

I'd do what Nav does and make your own subfolder. So dir string would just be TCS\TCScore.db

\macros isn't a relative directory. That's an absolute directory and it means "The root of the drive this is running from." If you wanted the macros part to be hardcoded (which you shouldn't, because people can change their macros directory) then leave off the first slash. /sqlite query macros\TCS\TCS.db

Other than a material source, and constraints,, what else is missing?

I also did notice for clump of dough you can use a bunch of items.. and they have different yields.. which brings up another problem to solve, or bury my head somewhere..

Match ItemID to YieldTable

whatever one we find in inventory.. use it.. and get yield count..

ItemID Dragon Egg 17
ItemID Snake Egg 1
ItemID Free-Range Egg 1
ItemID Cockatrice Egg 42

of course we could just do a source table that provides ALL for vendors and everything else...

source is vendor - buy it
source is farmed, do we have any of the farmed items?

Kinda involved.. but hey.. why are we here.. and kinda dangerous.. if Dragon Eggs are a premium and you are just turning them into batter.. bad juju

Which then brings about the need to have a list that only allows the usage of non-rared items..

I understand 2.8 is old news, however being really interested in this project and the work you have done here I have learned a great bit about the depth of your madness. This is a copy of what I envisioned this macro to do the first time I ran it. It will start out and shop for all of your kits needed, run through the god quests and switch out kits with any empty bag in the bottom right corner (slot 32), then proceed to finish the research and get the trophy quests. All of the recipes were modified (except Alchemy, Tinkering and Toxicology)to make enough items needed for the trophy with a 66% fail rate on anything with a trivial of 45 or above. I changed all of the references of Poison to Toxicology and changed all the short names to match the trophy quests such as pois to toxicology and alch to alchemy etc. I added mats to the help section to list everything that needs farmed or foraged. jb321 you have done some pretty amazing work here out of goodness and I for one much appreciate it. Minor changes and a great learning experience. I am looking forward to what you are doing with the new version. Thanks again for sharing to the community.

Well as you may have noticed TCS 1.0 was Brewing 300 Macro (your macro) / Rooster Tradeskill.mac which turned into GOD Brew.

I like solving logic problems more than pathing issues.. :)

I also make lots of spaghetti code that somehow works, and then I go back in an deconstruct it and throw stuff out, and it somehow still works..

This DB effort should have been done from the get go.. I made a lot of routines to stay compliant and true to Roosters original vision for TS files and how they were read..

which spawned some pretty clever routines, but was over-engineered for a final solution..

That all being said..

We are heading into a new era.. with data structure and more symmetry, peace, and serenity :)

The TSC_POR is a template to handle all tradeskill tasks that show up in the quest journal.. We can always work around the who and where, but the main effort will be buying, making the item, and delivery..

TSC_Shoplist could use some sprucing..

TSC_Travel could do with some love..

TSC_POK needs medical assistance..

TSC_TSS could work towards the rest of the CR freebies, but I am an anti-pather.. so we will see on this one..

TSC_Support needs a broom

GOD and Core are well I guess some of the less dirty files..
 
I got a toon finishing up with the research and headed to get trophy quests on v2.9 then gonna pop the files you posted above experimental release and try running all the trophies. wish me luck. haha

sorry, 2.8 or something like that. I don't know why i keep calling it 2.9 haha

Baking is the only that is not done afaik. I think tailoring will work..
