Release Tradeskill Construction Set NeXt (2 Viewers) 4.1991b

My Shop Buddy isn't working. Load Directory blinks then disappears as if it's blocked. And Load List does Nothing. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong it's always me. If you could enlighten me to my mistake that would be great. Thanks.

I was running the pottery quest in Serpent's Spine and Macroquest has detected something and shut down.

Shop Buddy is pretty much a way to take a saved shopping list from any toon from doing a list generation and shop using that toon, it doesn't have much application afaik, but it was throw in. The shopping can be done from artisan,. batch, standard, with the buttons, to shop, request, shop from specific zones, etc...

Any crash data should be uploaded unless it has been opted out to my knowledge, which the devs take a looksy at.

Several times now I've had a crash to desktop clicking the "Refresh" button on the "Trophy Quests" tab, there is no error message, it's just CTD.

It happens after I've completed a trophy quest or two and want to clean up the completed ones from the drop down list.

Yea, I am guessing it has something to do with array being returned. The good news, it is annoying but not a world ender. I took a quick look and am following it through the modules. I am testing a change that appears to be working, or at least works for me.

Well it worked for 2 trophies, then I tried Research and it bombed.

It won't load recipes.. It says no data. And Shopping, Bank, Depot and Missing are all RED now and unusable as well. Still neither option under shop buddy is working either.

Also on my Red Guides Launcher it says TCN Free Version could that be why these buttons aren't working it's not recognizing me as a full member. Otherwise love the thing it's amazing what all it does.

Step 1, uninstall TCN Free, there is no purpose for it if you have the full version, I also made it a point to separate the file structure out so there should not be any issue there.

Step 2, Ensure you are "watching" the TCN resource to be installed and updated. It says you have an active license so it should be showing up in the Lua page.

Shop Buddy is only good for buying some other toons list of goods.. you have to save the list from something else like batch, artisan, standard to load it into shop buddy, but other than that shop buddy is a bridge to nowhere.

When you say it won't load recipes, where are you trying to load, standard, batch, artisan? Did you hand install?

I am quite lost. Watched the video, read the first few pages in comments and watched where you did the baking. My TCN does nothing when I click Go. I am on the craft tab/Artisan sub tab. I choose Jewelry Making, Destroy, Sell, Bank, 350, then load recipes. It seems to load them all, I see them scroll by in the MQ Console window and on the top, and it ends and says 11/1270 Recipes Loaded but then No Data is in the lower section. If I click Go, it does nothing. I am sure it's something pretty dumb on my part just not sure what. Editing to say headed to bed and then I have to get wisdom teeth pulled tomorrow so not sure when I will be back to check replies (sorry!)

And I also do NOT have the Free version installed like the previous poster above, so not that. And it is current. I keep it on 'watch' and update anytime there is an update.

Click "Generate Mass List" over on the left side, under "Load Recipes".

If you previously chose 10 recipes (vs 20, 30, 40, 50, 75, or 100), then your "Missing" tab should look something like this:

context: I figured people wanted freedom of choice to either just start, or have the option to generate lists triggered by themselves. Basically a lot of TCN is Burger King .. have it your way.

Reflective Emberquartz Fish Scale Sheet doesn't seem to be recognized as a completed sub combine. Every time I go to make a cloak or amice, it starts with the base fish, then scales, then patch, then swatch, then sheet even though I already have 35 Reflective Emberquartz Fish Scale Sheets in my local inventory. Going from fish -> patch -> swatch -> sheet takes a lot of time and is not needed. Doesn't matter if I have them in local inventory, bank or depot.

In general, I would delete the artisan.db in the Lua tcn folder, I would also reinstall and "watch" the LSO resource, and then I would reinstall TCN. TCN only updates if it sees the DB and has no entries for it in it's current DB, if it sees it (even old versions of NoS and LSO it thinks you are good).

Be sure you are not using TCN in any other instances on the same PC also, it will not update the DB.

Followed your lead. I choose 10 recipes same as you. My list was a bit shorter (Maybe because I have done some of them already?)

Here is my pic.

There is nothing listed under Shopping, Bank, Depot.

As I only see 6 lines on my window, does that mean I should have the ingredients to make 4 of the recipes?

I click "Go" and it runs through a bunch of recipes but then makes nothing, does no shopping. Still lost - sorry :(

What it is supposed to mean from what I see here, is you don't have any items in the bank or depot that can be used, nor is there any shopping for the selected recipes. If you do 20 recipes, it should change to show shopping. It doesn't mean you can make anything, that is why I just let it run one time through all the recipes, and then everything that is left needs a farmed/dropped item.

The goal of the list is to show you what is needed from a farmed perspective so that the recipes can be made. The only way to know if any recipe will work is you just run through a 100 or so or all of them and it will do it's best to use whatever you have and vendor purchased items to make what you want.

The only time you know for sure if you can make items is when you have no farmed items, or you are using standard and it will give you the green light (button)..

The list of items that are store purchased only are 2000 or less, the amount that need farmed items is around 14000+

How do I let it run through all the recipes? It looks like the most I can do is 100?

Sorry for missing this, but is the "Recipes" box "checked"? It's directly to the right of the "Generate" button. If it is, would you please post a screen shot of the entire tcn window? That would help tremendously.

I have a question.. The Artisan part does not work for me.. It keeps Crashing with the text "no max trophy table" as soon as I click load reciepes..

It does creates the recipes file.

I can answer that.

You need tradeskill trophies. One for each skill except fishing. If you get the starter trophy by doing very very easy quests (that tcn will do a lot of, very helpful), it will evolve to the best trophy. If you level your skill to 300 before getting the trophy, you can no longer get the starter trophy. You will need to do harder quests (that tcn will still help you on).

Everyone does these trophy quests if they want the Artisan's Prize. Whether or not they use tcn.

Here is a link to the quests, you will see they are super easy (at the Beginner trophy):

Exactly how do I get those eecipes
So, tcn has all the recipes. All you have to do is tell it what you want to make.

After doing the TSS freebie quest so that your skill is 54, get the trophy quest from the person in freeport noob zone. You can DO the quest at any time, but you can't GET the beginner quest if your skill is too high.

Now, how to skill up.

2nd item on the "Path" list is Picnic Basket, skill level 76.

Go to the "Craft" and "Standard" page and type in "Picnic Basket" in the "Text Search" field. Change the quantity from 1 to 10. Press Enter.

When the "Craft" button turns green, click it. TCN will buy materials, and try to craft 10 picnic baskets. Hopefully 10 tries will be enough for at least one success.

Now you've learned the recipe. To get to 76, keep making baskets. Personally, at this point I just use the regular tradeskill container's UI, as it is much faster.

You can get TCN to do the only the shopping, not the crafting. To do this, check the "Info" check box on the far right side of the "Craft"-"Standard" window. A separate window will appear, "TCXNext Recipe Information Window". Open that up, and then click "Shop". It will do all the running around and then stop.

Trying to piece together what is transpiring here, but will say this..

TCN has the quests that you do for the trophies (beginner to master), for the refined materials (GOD) (and gives a handful of recipes that count towards the artisan prize), for the freebies (TSS) (and gives a handful of recipes that count towards the artisan prize) for the recipes that are required for each seal for the artisan prize, plus it has a suggested but not set in stone path to 300 to give ideas to max your skill before starting the artisan grind. It also has the merchant tradebook quest that can be an alternate path to max trophies on some of the skills.

It has everything but the kitchen sink. I always have trouble finding my way around new resources the first few months. I would say if it doesn't seem pertinent ignore me. I love this resource did you read my review.

I did, I still want to have an idea as to what is going on to respond. If 1 person asks a question, it is typically a safe bet someone else will ask the same question down the road.

I was wondering how to access the tailoring listed in the path to 350. I have a metric shit ton of mats and no clue what to do with them.

I put in the recipe name in search and nothing comes up

The way. I do the Artisan quests is this( I am not o my PC so I cannot do a screenshot)
  1. Select the Tradeskill you want to work over 300
  2. Uncheck the checkbox next to the Recipes, so it goes through all recipes, not the 10 default ones
  3. Check these 4 checkboxes: Destroy | Sell | Bank | Continue. That way your inventory will not fill up with the items you are making, and you will either sell, destroy or bank them. The program will also continue on the recipe it is working on until it either learns it, or runs out of materials.
  4. Click the Go Button.
I will try to post a screenshot of the way I normally set it up once I get home.
