Hello

Currently I have 7 accounts

Obviously 1 toon sits outside of the group and helps on the side. Here where the issue or problem starts :

Using Kiss assist

My shaman will assist the Main Tank even though he is outside of the group. The Mage does not for some reason, he might do it once or twice and then he stops.

I have tried playing with INI files , but nothing is fixing it. I cant figure why one works and the other does not .

If anyone has any ideas, would be appreciated

if you start your mage with: /mac kissassist assist tanknamehere 98 does that work better for you than just targetting the main tank?

You should try to set up a camp with the toon outside the group once kiss is running, with a campradius like 100 or so. It works for my wiz.

@Hulkman out walking dog, so excuse if some vaguely and I’ll clarify later.

In EQ Set up xtargets 4-9 for group members, on your outside assistant. I use a Cleric for Buffs, heals and nukes below 40%.

Then in INI file set the following;

XTarHeal=1
XTarHealList=4|5|6|7|8|9

The XtarHealList is your priority list of group members.

For nuking, I have the following set in the INI;

Role=Assist
DPSOn=1
AssistAt=95
DPS1=Yalp|40|Cond7 <-- just shows an AA can be used, % at which it is applied and a Condition can be used as well, if needed.

When my healer was supporting a lower level group (>15 levels difference) I had to use spells that would land on group members, but thats another level...

I was taught this for RGMercs outside support but works a treat for KissAssist.

For info; in RGMercs the INI uses the following;

AssistOutside=0/1 (no/yes)
OutsideAssistList=Tank_name, Next_name, Another_name, etc (priority order and a bit more hard coded.)

Hope this points you in the right direction:)

@Hulkman Another thing that helps with out of group support members, is using EQBC and/or DanNet. The tank will send a message using either EQBC or dannet to the other characters. There is an event that will get triggered on the out of group characters. This event is used to get the correct mob ID to use when targeting before attacking.

I came up with a good way to have individuals outside of group not only help the main group, but not kill steal either. This is great for Powerleveling. This is also assuming you have the name class plugin (i.e. MQ2BERZERKER, etc)

Step 1:
Have the toons outside of group pop a merc (usually a healer merc), so they are now thier own mini group. or you can just have 2 toons in their own group.
Set the leader of that mini group to Maintank/mainassist/puller. This toon will be like the main liaison to the PL'ing group.
Set all other toons (if any) to assist mode.
Set that toons pull radius to "60". You don't want them going out and pulling their own mobs. They will attack only mobs that are pulled by the main group back to the camp.

Step 2:
Create a hot key that tells the "puller/tank" from the assisting group to assist the main tank of the group. Then engages. For my "out" group, I use a Mage for the maintank/assist/puller.

My hotkey macro looks like this:

Group 2 Assist
Line 1: /dex offgrouppullertoonname /assist Maingrouptankname
Line 2: /dex offgrouppullertoonname /pet attack

*Note: if have more than one group outside of main group helping, just add a line 3 and 4 to the same hotkey

Step 3:
Go grab something and bring to camp!
Once you pull something with the main group and bring it back to camp, hit your hotkey telling the other group to assist and attack. In my case, the mage sends in the pet. once agro is achieved, the mage engages. All exp goes to the main group provided they didn't get out DPS'd.

RINSE, LATHER, REPEAT

On a side note, typically, the main pull ends up bringing multiple mobs back to the camp. after the first one is dead, the outside group will just go down the line killing mobs in the extended target window. If only 2 mobs are on the agro list, both groups will always be on the same mob. If 3 or more mobs come to camp, there is a chance the outside groups are on a different mob after the initial one dies. just watch the extended target window to see if any mobs after the first one are getting damaged to ensure both groups are on the same mobs. This basically guarantees that all exp goes to the PL group.

A long winded post, but I hope this helps some people out. @Sic is way better at this stuff and i'm not a programmer by trade or know how to do all that fancy INI stuff, but it works for me and wanted to share with you all in the hopes that this helps someone :)
