1) I'm using KA with /backoff on. Is that technically the same as Manual Mode? I mean, in the code/behavior.

2) I want to automate swapping out the bow but the supposed MQ2melee command /throwit isn't recognized, or it's disabled. I say disabled because I get no msg about invalid cmd. I get no msg at all, usually something pops up when issuing a valid cmd.

I am kinda doing manual pulls which is why I am in backoff mode to prove a couple of things; my group can handle the spot, pathing for pulling is working, etc. My group is in regular KA assist mode. Really need to automate the bow and my other item swappage. Did a quick scan through the KA code and other than a /range cmd, I see it swapping out simply what it found in the slot previously. KA is NOT trying to use /throwit but all the docos for MQ2melee mention /throwit as a valid cmd. I only elaborate so you know I tried to solve this myself and not some whiney newb looking for quick easy answers.

Ok ok, I'm a whiney newb looking for easy answers...

3) Mq2Nav does not consider distance as the crow flies. Although a mob may be 300 units away, it's thru a wall and in actuality is way outside my pull range. How can I get it to honor real life distances? I will not be able to go full-auto in the spot I have picked if this is life.

1. They are not the same. If you /backoff you won't attack at all. As far as using as manual it is not. Manual turns off everything. Then you activate what you want via commands. /buffson etc

2. what are you try to accomplish with your ranged item?

Ok cool. I wasn't sure if I could turn on sections while in manual mode or not (never used it before to any extent) and using /backoff I could simply hit it again knowing everything would be on IF I felt comfortable in my new spot letting it fly.

On the ranged, I'm just pulling manually while I work out problems with my new spot and I just wanted things to work like it did when in full-auto. I wanted to hit a button (Ranged Attack) and have it auto-swap the bow and my shard. I settled for using the bandolier; so only 3 buttons, equip bow, hit ranged, and unequip bow. It's not bad, just was hoping it would automate simply by hitting the ranged attack. Iirc there was a time MQ2melee would do it: I have my bow entered, arrow, range, aggropri, aggrosec, meleepri (which oddly was not in the /melee list and not in the INI after having done numerous /melee saves in the past), I THINK I have meleesec set if it exists but at that point it was after midnight and as a zombie don't remember if it was a valid cmd. In checking the INI this morning neither meleepri and meleesec are in there but I'm pretty sure meleepri was a valid cmd (if not meleesec).

I only bring all that up to show that all the settings that I could find that possible relate at all to auto-swapping the bow were set. It isn't a huge deal, 3 buttons aren't that bad, but in the effort to know all I can about stuff I wanted to pursue it until either it was solved or all avenues were exhausted. Kinda my way...

I occasionally saw the msg in MQ2win that MQ2Melee recognized what ever situation allows it to test successful mode switching (melee vs range visa versa) but oddly only once in awhile.

The pathing remains a nightmare. Hats off to MQ2Nav to be able to perform Olympic level acrobatics but jesus if left unchecked Karnors would have NOTHING on the trains I would create. One time, I musta spent a full minute fighting for control of the keyboard to try and stop my poor puller from training the whole zone (yeah I know of /nav stop but it would just start again in a second - iirc I had unload it). Now I admit, it was pure fucking genius to create and negotiate a path to the one mob it really really wanted, but in practice it simply isn't practical to pull a mob through a maze. I wish I could force it to only honor the waypoints I set and NOT go passed them, but that is for the MQ2Nav thread (and KA 9). I really don't see me being able to let the puller go on auto mode in this scenario.

Having said that, it has been kinda fun to treat the rest of my group as mercs; play my toon and pull, and watch the group do what they do best.
