Hey guys, this forum is a sticky mess. I'm looking at any ideas to help people find macros they need or want.

One idea is more tags (utility, bot, etc.) another is to make a wiki-thread with links to every macro with a short explanation.

Any other ideas?

Thanks for the response. I'd be interested in that, provided someone could come up with categories that make sense. Are there enough PL macros to warrant their own section?

I'm not sure, I've never really looked. I'll check it out tomorrow while I'm at work. These jokers are trying to kill me, lol, 8 days off since mid June.

Macro Dewey Decimal System?

LOL, who has been to a library in recent memory that really knows that system?

Now for a more serious response tags or categories (I'd recommend sub-categories):
Zone specific macros
Power leveling macros
Class specific macros
Tradeskill macros
Skills macros
Utility macros
Macro building help sub-forum
Included Kissassist compile macros(not for KA specific questions) sub-forum

Just my first swag at putting some ideas down.

I like this idea .... the wiki page link method would be a nightmare to maintain.... the sub forum category method might be good.

My 2 cents:

Macros
- Bots (AFNuke, Bot, etc complete automation of a toon)
- Power Leveling (autobones)
- Utility (mage pet maker, cskillup, barter, lang, etc)
- Quest/Zone (Dead Hills, Argath raid, etc)
- Macro Writing (help for DIY macro writing. can close the thread when released and moved into the above forum)
- Mac Testing (sign up to test a mac, report bugs, etc)
- Requests

I think most will fit into these areas and even if the mac is built into the MQ2 compile, Still having the wiki is good. I never knew I could do cskillup until someone told me!

Along the lines of this I think you could break out the KA forum this way as well. I know you just cleaned it up and added the support section under it, but I think it would be great. Maybe:

Kissassist
- Support
- Tank INIs (War, Pal, Shd)
- Casters (wiz, chanter, necro, etc)
- Hybrids (ranger, bard, beast, etc)
- Melee (rogue, monk, zerk)

I'm sure I missed something here, so feel free to add. If we had a a KA forum for class specifics, we could also post our "alternative" files. For example I have one for Role=Tank for my ranger. It has specific things to draw aggro. I also have an alternative for my bard so it will sing and throw while pet tanking. I would almost suggest a "Healer" sub forum (sham, clr, druid), but I realize some shamans aren't used as healers other than back up... So just my thoughts!

This may be outside the scope of this post, but in the Kiss section I would love to see "Redguides approved set ups." I see a number of inis where buffs are set up poorly (trying to buff with "___ ward" and "form of defense" which don't stack for example), heal sections that end up continually casting one spell, etc. I would love it if these Redguides approved set ups included a Kiss ini, a mq2melee ini, and a suggested spell lineup.

I would say this is done for the most part. Usually we ask for folks to post their ini files. Not certain who would be tagged ensuring KA ini are RG approved. I have tweaked my toons for my play style. Good example is my SK, 90% of my clickie buffs are in my downflags not in my KA buff section. I do believe it would benefit most players who have questions to go ahead and post their ini files though.

Only way i see for a kissassist.mac INI to be RG approved would be for us to actually load the ini on our toons and test them one by one... however the obvious issue with that is that our toons will not have all the exact ranks and spells and disciplines you might have... so kinda impossable to test the EXACT ini... and isn't that what we are supposed to be testing/approving??? So don't think this will ever come to light.

However.. I DO like the subforum idea for 5 categories of macros.. and have a moderator move stickied macros accordingly.....

Since i'm a moderator as well as developer here.. I have no issues maintaining this.. only serves to make it neater and easier to find what you need that way.

REDBOT... you know the deal... ( cracks the whip to get him to make the subforums.. ).. lol
